PWO 1988 - 1992 Draft Discussion
According to CageMatch, Black Bart, Deadeye Dick & Dutch Mantel only had 8 matches together The Moondogs on the other hand... (Did you know that Deadeye Dick was Moondog Rex? I did not know that) ... and now I am wondering if the Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin & Brad Armstrong version of the Freebirds had more than 50 matches together.

PWO 1988 - 1992 Draft Discussion
I think for three-man teams, it should be pretty clear that they were PRIMARILY a three-man team. So, maybe the Freebirds and Von Erichs and some of the famous Lucha trios teams where working together was kind of their main deal... but not, like, Misawa, Kawada, and Kobashi as a trio. Even though Misawa & Kawada and Miasawa & Kobashi had a ton of matches as team-mates and won belts together and stuff, I felt like, looking at their careers, nobody would think of them as first and foremost tag wrestlers... So I considered trying to draft them as a team in the 3rd round, but rejected it as too "cheap" (Holy Demon Army might have been reasonable... But they don't team together as such until '93). Hope that makes sense and seems fair.

Yep. It was similar thinking that led me to choose Terry Funk with my first-round pick, and I would have grabbed Hansen in the second had he been available

Whatever he's planning, Jake and Hansen are a great foundation. I'm assuming they're his lead heels. Inarguably, definitely great heels... but a little bit strange as the first choices for a promotion based in Mexico City.

Whoa! Some amazing choices being made here so far. I hate to be obvious and predictable... but on the other hand I am delighted to add my friend Yuji's dad to The Gli-San Puroresu roster: Jumbo Tsuruta '89

Here's a kind of extreme suggestion: If anyone fails to check in here within 48 hours of the project start time (i.e. 8 am EST) we bounce them from this project.

Awesome! So... Moon Quake, best first round pick? I think Motegi takes that particular cake... But I am pleased to see Big John go so high in the draft, and I love his new nickname

Thanks, LowBlow! I love Jetlag's pick! I took Osaka instead of Tokyo hoping that someone would want to do a death match or shoot style or indy sleaze promotion and I figured Tokyo would suit that better. Though, of course, Motegi would make an equal amount of sense in Philly, among other places...

Should we have a time limit for picks? I'm thinking something generous, like 24 hours...
