  1. How would that affect something that's purely a visual curio?
  2. Jake just said on Twitter he's announcing who, and says it's pretty obvious who.
  3. Maybe they'll do repeats, but not too sure about On Demand. BTW, what was with Warrior's HOF spot having the old school WWF logo blurred out? The Bobo Brazil spot from Monday night didn't have that, which was a relief but it makes me wonder if the previous blurring was a mistake of some kind.
  4. I don't see Austin for Jake, really. Their paths crossed that one significant time, yes but Ted and DDP are more significant to Jake's history than Austin is.
  5. Roddy Piper debut in WCW. Looking back it's not the best way they could have set up the feud, but the way it starts with the bagpipe music almost fading in and Rod taking his time a little to come out was brilliant. I remember actually shaking with excitement when I saw it because I wasn't as smart to what was going on. I knew people were going back and forth, but Piper always struck me as one of Vince's guys when he needed him.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if Ted did it alongside DDP. It doesn't have to be just one. Lita was announced tonight. Warrior...yay. Has he made any statements about it yet?
  7. Been away for awhile (not by choice, couldn't log on. So glad the site has updated though so good to be back). Well jeez where to start. I was blown away by WWE's decision to do what I hoped they would and then some. Keeping it online and away from regular television is not only the most innovative but it's the best thing they could do. If they were a regular "network" they'd be beholden to ratings and wind up like several networks that had intellectual falls from grace (Bravo, A&E, TLC, History Channel and so on).
  8. He had a fearlessness to do the silliest things possible outside the ring (even inside sometimes), that could just look stupid if anyone else did it but it would always be balanced in the end by a great match (or at least one that could steal the show). If WWE re-hired him today and put him on Raw tonight, he'd be just as over as Punk or Bryan right now.
  9. Not related but Punk tweeted this image last week.
  10. I hated it when they changed the Saturday Night set in '94 to that crappy sci-fi stuff. The only thing that worked out of that was the intro music.
  11. Piper and Bret are cousins too, are they not? Didn't Ric date Diana for a bit recently, too?
  12. What if he *is* Vince Russo? *dun dun dun*
  13. What happened to TNA being up for sale? I haven't heard much development lately.
  14. The most unusual and disturbing one was when CNN was reporting on a child porn ring being busted, and the guy shown arrested was wearing a DX T-shirt.
  15. It's obviously in part because of the injuries that nagged at him throughout the last 6-7 years of his career as an active worker, but I thought his best in-ring work was in WCW. It's only his matches with Bret and Rock that maybe stand up to that work, but if you look at the talent he worked with in WCW compared to his run as "Stone Cold" you would have to give him the nudge to his "Stunning" days.
  16. He seemed understanding that they couldn't air it, but I think it illustrates what a crappy idea it was in the first place. I really wish Mark had gotten him on the show after the Cena match in Chicago, as it would have been more interesting then to hear him talk about the "pipe bomb" segment. As it is, it was interesting hearing Punk talk about his background.
  17. He'll find his feet with the more shows he does, though I can't imagine how podcasting would be any different than radio (which he's done for awhile now, too).
  18. Well, all of the pre-1993 PPV's have already come out on DVD with dubbed audio tracks already. Don't see how that would be a problem.
  19. I remember he criticized him for going to stiff on Flair for their Starrcade match in Ric's book. It seems to me that he was good for Vader as a manager, both on screen and behind the scenes as well. I suspect too that Harley not being around after his wreck made things much more difficult for Leon in WCW, leading up to Paul Orndorff's heroic moment.
  20. I bet it's just Jim shooting the shit about everything and talking about his personal life, maybe not unlike his podcast now.
  21. So now they're talking of putting all their PPV's on? I thought it was just the ones that weren't the big four?
  22. I think it was a tribute. Wasn't Flair over like Hell whenever Crockett came to Philly?
  23. I know, and I'm also not suggesting that anyone here is particularly reveling in his public struggles. I just guess it needs to be said.
  24. I remember being a little shocked by JR's arrival, I didn't really notice that he left WCW at all.
  25. It's what they should have done in WCW really, bring Randy in as a heel because it could have gone in an interesting way with him and Ric aligned against Hogan and Sting. He was as, if not more, effective as a heel in WWF and especially against Hogan. I don't think it quite worked the other way around when Hulk and Randy worked each other in '96. What would be interesting is how if at all Randy could have adapted to what would become the Attitude Era if they signed him back and he stuck around. More from a character standpoint than wrestling. I'd hate to think of what a 1998 version of the Randy/Elizabeth dynamic in 1986 would be like.
