  1. Didn't he date Mulligan's daughter (now his wife) first before getting into it?
  2. I liked the flip he did once he was handed the belt. A sort-of good way to end the feud, even though it really ended with Repo Man stealing it and giving it back to Ted to get that character over if I remember correctly. A little strange to me that Piper didn't get out of the booth to celebrate with him. First guess would be they were on a tight schedule and couldn't drag out the victory as much as they could have.
  3. A few other guys seemed to have just done this match as a cameo, something they still do now. I never liked this Rumble, way too short. Shawn could have done a full-length Rumble in his sleep back then.
  4. I'm sure they knew it was going to be a rather infamous spot. I don't think Rock was ever more hated as a heel before or since that night.
  5. Women can be as freaky as men, believe me.
  6. It's on iTunes.
  7. I didn't see this until I watched the first Flair DVD set WWE put out. Pretty visceral stuff, and a nice way to really introduce Flair to the WWF audience I think.
  8. That honestly could be taken as either shoot or kayfabe I imagine.
  9. Did his contract expire in September? I was watching a bit of SummerSlam from this year and thought that the perfect place for him to have started on screen.
  10. Brutus Beefcake's 1989 Timeline was pretty good. His memory is a little shot because of the head injury but he had some good behind-the-scenes stuff to dish about. Mostly how he hated the Barber gimmick from the beginning, which he "blamed" on Pat Patterson. It is said he made the most of it and got over well with it, but I was surprised at how much he didn't like turning face (Question, was he really over as a heel to begin with? Just by himself, not with Valentine.) As anyone who's seen the youtube clip, he does put down Arn and Tully. Tully is understandable given his rep, but I guess his beef with Arn goes back to WCW (Flair has said in his shoot interview and his book that Hulk & co. wanted Brut-eye to take Arn's place on the roster, basically). And of course, he talks about Hulk about 1/3 of the interview and himself for another third. The match where Bret broke his sternum segues into a diatribe about DDP nearly taking his head off with a chair shot on a Nitro, and making excuses for it instead of apologizing (if anyone knows which show that was on, I'd like to know). "Free James Brown!"
  11. They were slowly pushing tension between Hogan and Tugboat for some reason. Tugboat eliminated Hogan in the April SNME battle royal (a pretty good one, actually. Not sure why it didn't make the cut here) as revenge for Hogan dumping him out in the Rumble.
  12. I'd have much rather seen Arn/Dynamite one-on-one.
  13. Someone please do this for the Flair RF shoot so I don't have to watch it lol.
  14. There was a brief taste of that in the '88 Survivor Series match.
  15. I really want to see the Snowman/Jake match if it's the one I'm thinking Jake referred too in one of his shoots.
  16. A babyface Rick Rude is a rather silly premise in and of itself.
  17. Hopefully tonight was a wake up call to the zombies running this place.
  18. Jim Ross just Tweeted that he's doing some voice-over for 'lost' Mid-South tapes. Says the DVD should be coming out in September.
  19. Is that from Meltzer?
  20. Kofi's an announcer now?
  21. It should be noted that if people thought the crowd was dead on TV, about how the response doesn't come off as well because it is outdoors. Someone on Twitter said the crowd was pretty up during the Lesnar/HHH match.
  22. Was it cold at all inside the stadium?
  23. The video packages were annoying but better than constant backstage segments. This was a much better show than I thought it'd be.
