  1. I can attest to that. I went to the ER for something where something invasive had to be done and it was called surgery. I had to specify to my friends and family they didn't cut me open or anything.
  2. I think they should let Cole fly solo. My guess is that is what they'll do until they find a decent enough partner for him to go from there until some type of announcement is made as to whether Jerry will return at all. I found this on Twitter just now
  3. It seems to me that they want to make something of interest to both the hardcore fans and documentary fans or people unaware that it ever existed. It is entirely possible they can cover all the bases they need to in a two-hour timeframe (90 minutes seems too short to me). And it looks like it made it's goal already. Good on them, I knew this would get funded.
  4. I would imagine the DVD or Blu-ray will have tons of outtakes.
  5. Wade Keller wrote this on his Facebook just now. "It is so sad to me that when real life health emergencies like tonight's on Raw with Jerry Lawler, because WWE has reenacted the scene the night Owen Hart died so many times to sell storylines, that people don't know when it's real or not real, even when Cole stresses that this "is not part of tonight's entertainment." WWE should have never reenacted the distressed look on the faces of announcers that resembled the night Owen died to get across worked storylines, because the emails I'm getting asking "if this is real" would be less likely to be happening. - W.K."
  6. Jerry's becoming more responsive, and he's being prepped for a CAT scan.
  7. I just happened to watch Jerry's match at the gym tonight and marveled at how he could do a dropkick at his age.
  8. All things considered, that's the right thing for them to do. Feel bad for the guys who have to carry on the show despite this.
  9. Jerry's breathing on his own, but Michael's tone is pretty serious. This is not good, but not as bad as some of us feared
  10. My first guess is that Michael was talking with people backstage, getting updates.
  11. In Flair's book, he said Hogan compared him to the Tazmanian Devil from the WB cartoons.
  12. Must feel weird to move your head around after having it the same length for as long as he did.
  13. Anybody here listening to his podcast? I tried listening to the first one posted on iTunes and couldn't get past the douche-y comedians he's talking with. I'm hoping it got better from there.
  14. And he was still pretty young when he did leave. But I don't think he has any regrets about being in Junior's machine that took over once he did leave. He didn't have any major breakdowns, drug and/or legal problems. I don't know the specifics but it sounded like he just left on his own terms, which to me goes against the idea of a "fall from grace". Then he came back when it was clear Vince was going to feature younger and smaller guys.
  15. This just sounded destined for failure.
  16. Were it not for his back issues that took him out in '91, he probably would have had a better shot at it.
  17. He was over, but no way they would have put the belt on him. If he was in consideration, it wasn't for long I'm sure. Putting a guy with that kind of physique was the last thing they wanted to do, in the face of the steroid scandal. His gimmick was over with me, but I really dug his theme music.
  18. Someone getting divorced 4 times at Ric's age is nothing special, but that they all came in the last 10+ years is worrisome.
  19. We should make a definitive thread for everything that pisses us off about current WWE programming, and how much better it was "back in the day".
  20. I'm glad Heyman isn't in this. Sometimes it's better for a documentary to not have a person who's a major focus of the piece not in it, and show as much about the person through the other subjects being interviewed. For example, as good as it would sound on paper I don't think it would have made for good documentary cinema if Michael Moore interviewed G.W. for Fahrenheit 9/11. Not nearly the same, but you hopefully get the idea.
  21. I can buy that, a little. He was starting to come into his own in interviews, more personable. He was even interviewed for the A&E biography on Mick Foley, quasi-in character. I'd always wished he stuck with the biker character, it seemed a good way for him to ride out (literally) his career.
