RAW 1000
Considering his placement in a few spots on that retrospective video, I thought Flair would have showed up too.

I can personally confirm she's looked much better this year.

Money In The Bank
I heard there were some strains of a "Sheamus sucks" chant at the show tonight.

Very badly cast
Weird. Gibson always reminded me of Joe Flaherty. Not so weird, I meant Gibson.

Morton always reminded me of Joe Flaherty.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
I thought that stuff was more "wink wink" than it was mean. They've done a lot more genuinely homophobic stuff in comparison so Jim gets a pass on that from me.

Great promo, terrible announcer
They must have really hated Houston.

[1994-07-23-WWF-Superstars] Leslie Nielson
I was referring to the trouble one of his co-stars was very publicly in at the time.

A week in TV in 1986
This is early-mid 90's but I remember Superstars and Challenge aired on our CBS affiliate (from Ft. Wayne, IN), opposite SNL. The Fox affiliate had WCW Worldwide. And in 1994 I discovered ECW on the public access channel being run by my hometown of Auburn, IN. The Memphis show was on there too, but I don't remember seeing that until '96.

Was this the last time Letterman ever had anyone on associated with wrestling? They seem to go on Leno, Conan and Kimmel more often than not now. Another quip about the cast, it's funny how this movie was the only thing I thought of during that one great scene Tiny Lister has in The Dark Knight. I find it somehow endearing that one of the people involved in a couple of the worst angles ended up with bit parts in bigger movies.

Hulk has certainly done far worse than it, so I won't argue that it's ambitions were a little admirable if not a bit lofty. This kind of project seems like it would have been a Catch-22 because a movie with Hogan in it had maybe a fighting chance of being a success in 86 or 87, but this is also when the company needed him to help eradicate the territories. So in '88 when Savage seems like the guy to carry the ball for awhile, they shoot this and release it the next year when pro wrestling is not the cultural phenomenon it was earlier in the decade.

Joe Rogan possibly conning his audience.
I've heard his podcast a couple of times. Nothing too memorable, but it passed the time. I think his sponsorship of the Fleshlight is more telling of his mindset than anything else. He's way better as an interviewee after hearing him on Marc Maron's show.

I have no real desire to see it myself, but it did become a source of amusement when I later looked it up on IMDB, and found out the actor who played Hulk's brother would later play one of the muscle-bound henchmen in The Big Lebowski (was also in a bit part in Lethal Weapon 2 and had a substantial role on the 2nd season of Dexter).

I think it's "Did You Know?". They may as well just ask NBC to use the old "The More You Know" graphic.

I've seen some 70's Japanese stuff recently from that looks like it's from the early 90's compared to other feds.

Who is the worst booker ever?
I think Hulk winning in 90 made him look stronger going into Toronto. I wasn't watching it at the time but I'm guessing they tried to make both of them as equally invincible as possible, as to hype the "Clash Of The Titans" feel to the build-up (including that awesomely bad but effective intro to the show itself). Another thing is that Hogan winning twice in a row probably helped make the end of the 92 match as stunning as it was with Sid eliminating him and setting up their feud.

Videotape was in it's infancy then, and I'm sure promotions put quantity over quality and didn't think about how great it would look on television. TV screens in the 70's were about the size of a large serving plate and a good deal of them were in black and white.

Chris Jericho is overrated
I genuinely laughed at Cena's Star Wars shtick. Sue me.
