  1. I wish I could re-name the subtitle to the thread "2012-ish"
  2. Makes sense, although a longer-term Davey/Lex feud would have had some great potential, and could have revitalized Lex's stock with the company.
  3. Okay, so was there a tease to a Luger/Davey Boy feud as a result? I gotta admit I tuned out of WWF programming around this time and wasn't aware of the particulars. Also, did Davey's haircut come later?
  4. Agreed with the setting. The idea to put KOTR between WM and SummerSlam was a good one until every other month was filled with something.
  5. Can't believe you didn't include Arn Anderson/Alex Wright from Slamboree of that year. Probably the single best finish I've seen.
  6. He (and to a lesser degree Martel lost to the Brain Busters at V.
  7. The one with Warrior about smoking (with what I thought looked at the time like french fries for some reason) is the winner.
  8. Sweet! Are they all converted to DVD or Blu-Ray now?
  9. Is this just a term used by smart fans or is it backstage lingo as well?
  10. A run with The Undertaker would have been so much better for all involved, least of which those of us who had to put up with watching Taker work his way around Jorge that year.
  11. Warrior as a ref would have been funny.
  12. Bret's said in his book and elsewhere that he thought the meeting where they told him Flair was going to job to him they were going to sack him, so he definitely must have felt in limbo at least. A Santana reign would have been interesting, if one could see it as a response to Ron Simmons winning the belt in WCW.
  13. Andre being touted to return at the '91 Royal Rumble. Would have been very interesting to see him in the same ring with the likes of The Undertaker and LOD.
  14. In retrospect, it would have been awesome if Randy Savage came back to WWE after Halloween Havoc '96, and returned as a heel. I can see it now, how he makes his big come back segment. The crowd is going wild, and Vince is standing in the ring smiling like an idiot at his classic posing from the second turnbuckle, the waving of the finger. They shoot the shit for a few minutes about how good it is to be back, and out of nowhere Vince blurts out "Nacho Man", likely a mistake on his part. But Randy capitalizes on it saying he was going to let it go and "what it is is what it is", but no. He talks about being benched all those years he could have been on top, being a sidekick to Vince in the broadcast booth instead. This inevitably leads to a contempt of the fans which causes some boos, and ultimately a physical beatdown on McMahon until Shawn Michaels makes the save.
  15. The brief "gimp-mask" period didn't help much either. You can't make me.
  16. Sounds like the shows Oz Clarke and James May did for BBC, going across Britain (and in one case, California) to find the drink that defines Great Britain.
  17. Keith wrote a pretty nasty (most of it I agreed with, even then) article about Vince when the XFL started, I remember.
  18. I was going through some YouTube stuff today and saw Terry Taylor in a ref's shirt in a video from Halloween Havoc '93. Was he just a ref during this stint in WCW or did he do it other times as well?
  19. It was around this period I was becoming a big Flair mark (which never stopped, for the most part). Never would have happened, but I think it would have been cool to have Flair as the NWO benefactor character that Bischoff eventually became (and for a short while was thought to be Ted Dibiase).
  20. I saw this a few years ago, and I was surprised to find it a better match than WrestleMania VIII.
