  1. Was it silly of me to be utterly convinced the first HOF inductee to be announced Monday was Randy Savage? The whole lead-up to it had me genuinely convinced that's who would be announced.
  2. Not just that, it was angle so nice they did it twice (with Martel and Tatanka two years later).
  3. What I want to know is if WWE hires them back eventually or if they're gone for good. I don't care either way, but I am curious to know if the door is now closed to them permanently.
  4. I don't remember the events surrounding it, but I thought when they "electrocuted" him on Raw, they were going to give him a big push. Don't ask me why.
  5. Foley/Orton goes unopposed on my list for best storyline. Randy was at his most weasel-y and Foley was probably in the best shape of his career. And the build-up was gold.
  6. What you had during that last boom, was that the biggest stars were people who evolved from that role. Austin, Rock, even Goldberg. It developed this natural attraction for younger guys wanting to get in and make their own mark on the business.
  7. Right or wrong, Nash can't say anything without sounding like a douche. My theory; Kevin Nash is a douche.
  8. PWT is reporting Cena injured his leg tonight.
  9. Two things I remember most was Hogan's wig, and Piper coming out. That was the hugest time I ever marked for anything, when the bagpipes started. The match ended on quite a downer, with the NWO triumphant again. Until, out of nowhere that music starts. It took me 5 seconds before I realized who they were for.
  10. This was the year I got back into wrestling after being a bit bored with it for about a year. I was unaware of it throughout 95 so reading up on everything that had happened was quite a shock. Especially in WCW. Monday Nitro, Vader leaving, Luger arriving. Nitro definitely was a breath of fresh air, and exciting to watch in this year particularly for so many reasons. Watching Paul Wight evolve, seeing the NWO form before my eyes, and seeing guys like Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio, Malenko and Jericho for the first time.
  11. I have mixed feelings, mostly because an actual wrestling match between Piper and Dustin would have been great. But the backlot brawl aspect was new, and influenced a lot to come after. I see a bit of it in all the Kane/Edge backstage stuff that they did recently.
  12. I love whenever they use that clip on a DVD it begins with Tony's line about The Mauler mauling Steve Doll. God, I remembered marking out so huge after. I must have been 12 so I was a little smart to everything, but the mark mentality was still there. I really believed that there was a war going on even though one would have read in the Apter mags that Hall was headed to WCW with Nash not that far behind.
  13. It was worth it once Angle sang it on Smackdown. God I miss Kurt in WWE.
  14. This is all enlightening stuff. It is still hard, as a fan, to watch wrestling today and not wonder when the next big one is going to happen and who it will affect. The weirdest thing I remember from that time, is that I watched more wrestling on MSNBC and CNN than I did anywhere else during the whole time the media was all over this.
  15. For a woman who lost her father and 2 of her uncles to suicide, I'd say she could be doing a lot worse.
  16. I never remember that team having that name. Not saying they didn't, I remember their matches, but that's how forgettable it must have been.
  17. American Males were closer to being a top team in WCW then the two others. Flair put them both over on his shoot when he talked about their match with him and Arn. Plus, they had the catchy theme song.
  18. It was cool seeing him again at the Royal Rumble 2006. Other than that, the only notable thing I remembered about him was his "cameo" in Natural Born Killers.
  19. Cool, I will appreciate it when it goes up then
  20. He talks about Brody quite a bit during the shoot, but his death is never brought up. Did Ric boycott working in Puerto Rico after that?
  21. When's the next one coming?
  22. Random thought, but after seeing him in Edge Of Darkness and a few other films, Danny Huston would make a perfect Vince in a movie.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MnxK8qR-sA Jesse Ventura on Howard Stern from October. Around 4 minutes in he talks about Linda's campaign, and disputes her claim that WWE's wrestlers are "independent contractors". It's not entirely about her, but worth listening to anyway.
  24. You'd figure this would be one card shown live, as it had I assume some pretty big matches and one title change. The card itself has one footnote in history, being that I think this was Bruno's last headlining match at MSG.
