The Arn Anderson podcast
Schiovane had a good quote about it on his show, saying that for it to be successful we need to hear Marty Lunde come through. That's true of any podcast, of at least this kind where there isn't guest at all, that it's important that you hear the real person instead of a carefully constructed persona be it through the media or in this case a line of work where character is so important, even if it's not entirely true to the person playing it. I'm way behind on Conrad's stuff, haven't listened to Bruce's show since spring basically and only listened to a few that he did with JR, but will probably jump back in soon. Echoing Tony's sentiment I hope it is successful but I hope there is more out of Arn here than I saw in his RF shoot, where he goes between being pretty forthright and also sticking to kayfabe to a degree as well.

The Steve Austin Show
His recent interview with Big Show is pretty good, talking a lot about him growing up and his new Netflix show.

Sean Oliver's Kayfabe Podcast
Enjoyed the Conrad interview. For someone who probes the minds of a few professional bullshitters for a living, he seems to be as straight-forward and honest of himself as they may seem crooked. I also listened to Oliver's intro and while I understand his concerns about the podcast format, I think his conversational style will translate well for him if he keeps at it.

Who is more important for pro wrestling history?
The crossover from winning an Olympic gold medal (with a broken freakin' neck) It's definitely a tough choice given all of what Jericho has done, but I have always found Angle more compelling to watch. Not just in the ring but in those skits. He pulled off looking like a clown without softening his image.

WWE Hidden Gems
I remember taping that one. The match that stuck out for me was seeing the Thunderdome match from Halloween Havoc 89.

WWE Hidden Gems
Did they do one in '94?

WWE Network... It's Here
MSG 8/29/77 and Boston 2/8/86 They have been adding lots of episodes of WCW Thunder today. They added the Clash of the Champions from June '90 recently, too.

WWF TV Shows 1970s to early 1990s (pre-Raw)
There were also connections to college basketball

Who is more important for pro wrestling history?
Kurt Angle, for the crossover factor. Bret Hart, mainly for Montreal but also influencing so many workers who came after him. Big Show, for being able to last as long as he has and to have kept himself in good shape compared to Andre and other big men who broke down physically later in their careers. Scott Hall, for his first Nitro segment and being one of the guys who changed how the money game was played.

WWF TV Shows 1970s to early 1990s (pre-Raw)
Larry Zbyszko told a story that one of Bruno's fans was Frank Sinatra's driver, who was very mobbed up apparently.

WWE Network... It's Here
They added one MSG show from 77 and a Boston show from 86 a few days ago

I find it curious we haven't gotten the USA PPV specials from before 1993 though.

WWF TV Shows 1970s to early 1990s (pre-Raw)
I remember that vaguely, but I feel like that might be the end of it's run too.

What was the state of Superstars after 1996? I thought it ended sometime in 97 when they were doing Shotgun Saturday Night.

Worst wrestler/manager combination ever?
Lanny Poffo and Mr. Perfect. Heenan should have been with him right from the beginning.

WWE Hidden Gems
Probably behind on this, but I noticed that they had the full Terry Funk retirement dinner as seen in Beyond The Mat. Is that new or has it been on awhile?

WWE Hidden Gems
What's really great about this is that now you can skip through matches and segments where you couldn't (I couldn't at least, with Amazon Fire) with a lot of these programs.

Greatest Career Rehabs
Shawn Michaels' last run. I really thought he was finished, but it was cool to see him end things without the baggage which consumed him before his injuries did. The whole Raven gimmick for Scott Levy. Scotty Flamingo was not an inspired gimmick, and Johnny Polo was never going to be an in-ring talent. The new more up-to-date gimmick made both WCW and WWF notice him and (WCW at least) gave him more consideration when he came back to both companies.

Worst wrestler/manager combination ever?
Bobby Heenan hasn't been mentioned once, other than the story of Rude hating being managed by him. I never saw him with The Missing Link, but I would guess that counted maybe?
-
Worst wrestler/manager combination ever?
Hiro Matsuda managing Ric Flair. Could have made sense if they had him feuding with Great Muta as a face, but just barely.

WWE Hidden Gems
It's kind of fascinating because it was clearly designed to get the French audience to boo Andre, and by the end it works.

The Steve Austin Show
I have no trouble believing Hogan thought about turning heel against Warrior, even going as far as to say he had the Hollywood Hogan character in mind at that point. I've got to think it was at least on his mind some during this time, if he even considered it an irrational business move. And when the time came several years later it was probably he just had it in mind to call himself that, even if his movie career was going down the tubes, compared to 1990 when he could at least be in something which had a life in theaters.
