I know he's not a favorite of anyone here, but David Manning was on Ric Flair's podcast two times and it must have been the only time I ever sat through an episode. They became tight when Ric would come through Dallas as the world champion, and they had some funny stories about the old days.

Mercer strikes me a bit like the Gene Okerlund type, better for interviews and on-camera stuff than the grind of announcing. From what I've heard of him, Lowrance had a bit more finesse to his approach.

Superbrawl '95 starts in the middle of the first match, which struck me as odd.

I'm starting to get into this, after having watched the Heroes of World Class doc and WWE's own program on them (which is actually very good). I'm cherry-picking at the moment, started out with the match from early '84 between Ric Flair and Chris Adams, which is quite good. A few questions; how far back does WWE's footage go? It starts in '82 but I got the impression from the Heroes doc that they were on television much further back from that. And given that they just recently put up a "Star Wars" show from 1982 in the Hidden Gems section, is there stuff they have from World Class that possibly wasn't broadcast (at least in it's entirety) on television?

I think if someone had thought of just to call him "Bruce" Heenan as opposed to Bobby Jr. it might have happened.

He's very good on Ballers, which as a total package is not a great show but does have some very talented actors that carry it along. I liked Johnson a lot in the Jumanji sequel. He does a good job at acting surprised at how bad-ass he is, which is perfect for the story it tries to tell.

I watched Barry Lyndon for the first time recently, and later when looking up the case I noticed that Pat Roach who is in the fist-fight scene (with a rather gnarly scar around his armpit) was a wrestler himself. He was also in Raiders of The Lost Ark, as the baddie in the airplane fight with Indiana Jones.

I have gotten a lot of enjoyment lately out of watching the WWF tag scene from the time they and the Bulldogs started with the company, really right up until the Road Warriors were brought in. I started as a fan after they split up, but there is little doubt for me that The Hart Foundation might be the greatest tag team Vince ever pushed. For 3 years their best heel tag team, and arguably the best face team for the next 3. Jim had those hyped, non-sensical promos that fit right in with what Hogan and Warrior were spouting off every week. He could also move pretty fast for a guy his size. I love the slingshot move they broke out every once in awhile where Bret would torpedo Jim over the top rope onto someone. And their finish might be the tag team equivalent of Arn Anderson's spinebuster.

I'm getting into The Lapsed Fan podcast. First episode I'm into covers this show and right away they talk about how the heat for this match is pretty much evaporated because of the "Hogan Must Pose" finish of the previous match. I hadn't really thought of that before but it's true. Add that on to the fact the WWF audience has already seen Warrior beat Rude several times before (they try and add suspense by saying this is Warrior's first cage match, suggesting somehow that he could be too stupid to understand the rules of one or maybe that's just me) already, it's a lackluster finish to the show.

Tribune is withdrawing from the Sinclair merger, choosing instead to sue them for breach of contract to the tune of $1 billion. My immediate reaction as far as ROH is concerned, is that this might not be good for them in terms of their television deal. If Tribune takes them down on this, they could be the first victim of whatever house-cleaning Sinclair deems necessary.

Him and Conrad have genuine chemistry as podcasters which elevate it to not just being a great wrestling show but a great podcast period. The routines and other stuff people might find annoying is probably less in volume compared to WHW which I'm guessing has gotten a bit too "Bob & Tom" for my tastes.

At least when it comes to DDP, the company have come around and recognized him through the Yoga program and have brought him in from time to time to their training facilities, etc. And certainly centering his Hall of Fame induction around his WCW career where he was most over, and not trying to justify themselves as to how abysmally they used him in 2001.
