  1. I’m betting there is going to be footage even interesting and otherwise unseen by older fans. In light of recent findings elsewhere, it wouldn’t be too hard to believe Vince filmed everything.
  2. He could have hit Joe Torre with a video camera and they would have still loved him.
  3. Is “Paulie” Heyman?
  4. More familiar with him in mid-late 90’s WCW when he was brought in to pacify Hogan with the Dungeon of Doom. His match with chris benoit in Baltimore was a really fun brawl that for awhile I didn’t get tired of watching over and over. But a few years ago I found this clip of him in Florida, leading up to his heel turn. It is kind of a masterclass of buildup with all the charm of territorial wrestling at it’s disposal to help move the story along. It’s also kind of disturbing to watch. https://youtu.be/_e1BPPzuhvg?si=InkjEH2lIAWaEmBt
  5. Seth Rollins telling CM Punk that this is his company, as an off-miked but fully in frame moment was a particular highlight for me. Need more guys saying the quiet part loud these days.
  6. I didn’t watch but I saw the pics of him with Trips and CM Punk (now THAT would be an interesting conversation). Did he say anything or was he just shown on camera?
  7. say what you will about this segment otherwise but both of them slowly walking towards each other reminded me of 2001: A Space Odyssey when the astronauts discover the monolith. Reminded me instantly but just one of those things you bat away with before the booking of it starts. But it has remained in my head for awhile. Last year I was actually inspired to rewatch and review Gladiator on Letterboxd after WrestleMania and in no small part because of Russell Crowe's cameo.
  8. Apropos of the exclusive clip on Raw promoting The Fall Guy and nothing else, here is a clip of the record of how many times a car can flip being established by Top Gear almost 20 years ago now
  9. Does their use of WWE-owned footage fall under fair use?
  10. Sounds like thats how she feels about it too
  11. John Laurinitis is a stupid motherfucker
  12. In the Royal Rumble 92 they are referred to as former IC champs I believe
  13. Well the planet responded, as there was just earthquake activity reported in NYC and the Philly area.
  14. Green is not a color for this event. All due respect to Becky Lynch but they could be doing this in Dublin and it would look odd.
  15. It all stops at McMahon. Roddy had an understandable beef with Russo, but I don’t correlate his creative direction before the accident with any malicious intent. Just (and as usual for him) shit for brains, and from what I gather it’s not out of the realms of possibility Vince was partly hired as to absorb some of the verbal abuse McMahon could deflect from those unhappy with him.
  16. Cant help but wonder what Roddy would think now. Someone brought up Owen again and I think about that TNA segment where he eviscerated Russo as essentially a WWF proxy. I look at that and think the only thing he did wrong was have the same name as the guy Piper really wanted to take this up with, but couldn’t for the reasons she isn’t bound by.

Arguably a better babyface in the early 90’s than any of Vince's top guys at the time. Especially in the time Flair left Atlanta, he started making a connection with their strongholds, as well as making an impression in Japan too. His mid-90’s reinvention did much to help translate to a more edgy audience, but he never really lost being a good guy in all that. Even when companies stupidly tried turning him heel. Despite so much working against him, he could still bring it. I am very happy he got to go out with his head high. So many deserve that and few get it, I am glad he is one of the lucky ones. Because he was one of the great ones.
  18. Paul Heyman the first inductee announced. In Philadelphia this could be a hell of a speech.
  19. Johnson just announced he's producing a Flair bio-pic, even referencing him in the now viral promo he cut on Cody Rhodes. After the bad portrayal of him in The Iron Claw it'll likely behoove the filmmakers to do his story long-form that much more justice.
  20. Dave Bautista is really good in both Dune movies, and in the 2nd one he has a bit more screen time. I could see Villeneuve keeping him in movies going forward, maybe even leading something.
  21. Speaking of Netflix, the episode of their sports docu-drama series Untold, entitled “Crime & Penalties” has footage of Triple H, Rock and Chyna at a birthday party for the subject, whose father (both interviewed btw) is said to be the primary inspiration for Tony Soprano. They all look rather uncomfortable being there in the VHS footage of the party they are briefly seen in.
  22. I have never seen the movie Diner but I remember a clip from it playing on television when a young Ellen Barkin says “I just like the music”. Kind of how I feel about fandom generally. AFAIK Bill Simmons left on bad terms with HBO so I don’t see them picking it up although they have the perfect footage of Vince going nuts on television to interviewers. Honestly the recent revelations have pushed me to not even care if it sees the light of day anymore. I will only watch Vince on tv again if someone gives him the Roger Robb treatment. Preferably in a court with 12 jurors.
  23. He is making an art out of stuffing his foot into his mouth.
