  1. It's going to be Sunday Night Heat. Nothing specifically about what's going up, just when (next Monday).
  2. Jake Roberts and Davey Boy Smith's son patched things up over the weekend, with Jake dropping the charges and both parties apologizing.
  3. Money sucks
  4. No word on a May content drop yet?
  5. Some people think he's working the gimmick too.
  6. I glanced at the news, but Bischoff announced that he's doing a show of his own on Twitch, the day after each episode of this airs as like some sort of post-show explanation. Not interested in it one iota since it's clear to me he's going to spin whatever might come out between him and Conrad every Monday.
  7. Putting all the big elephants in the room aside for a moment, this show kind of took me back to when they started PPV's earlier in the day. It's something that could benefit these long marathons now, certainly.
  8. I guess I don't mind their Trump support as much because they have a lot to lose if they outwardly flaunt that support, and they know it. I can appreciate why this show made some of you feel this way, but I'm of the mind that there are bigger fish to fry in the world right now.
  9. Cause of death was revealed as organ failure due to heart issues stemming from the rheumatic fever he acquired at 12 years old. People with those issues aren't expected to live past 60. Puts it all in a new light. Imagine if he never had that fever he could very well have lived past 100 without those conditions.
  10. I listened to it on the YouTube app on my phone, while watching the Network version. My one complaint is that it goes into unrelated stuff quite often, especially during the Rumble match itself. But there are some solidly funny moments, and at a few points a nice glimpse into their personal chemistry too which was cool.
  11. The show itself was broadcast on HBO and is otherwise notable for being Ric Flair's first match at MSG (which was on his first DVD). I don't know if it ever aired on WWE's pre-Network on-demand services, though.
  12. Just finished the doc. First time seeing a lot of this footage, especially Hansen breaking his neck. You can even tell in Stan's body language when he did it that he knew he fucked up that slam.
  13. I've sampled several episodes so far and have noticed that Jesse isn't doing color commentary with Jim Ross. My memory is a little fuzzy as to specifics but did he start on SN once Ross left?
  14. I wonder if it was Bill Eadie's health problems that made Demolition turn as opposed to the Harts. A Hart Foundation heel turn in 1990 would have made things interesting for Bret's singles run the year after, if it happened at all after that. Bret and Jim in a feud with the incoming Legion of Doom could have had way more potential than nearly any program they were in the whole time there (definitely in their later run for the company).
  15. The launch date and first topic will be revealed sometime this week. They have a poll going on their official Twitter and it's looking like the topic will be about "The Third Man", referring to who Hall and Nash's partner would have been at Bash At The Beach '96. Should be fascinating whether or not Eric defends the idea of bringing in Mabel for that spot.
  16. Crow Sting would have definitely faired better. You got as much earlier that year with the brief feud with Undertaker that saw Jake's exit. I heard that the plan after was to program him with Bret, which would have resulted in some good matches but may have ended up the same as the sole program he was involved with at WCW. The only course that Sting could go to counter is just tell everyone Jake is crazy and ignore the hidden, ugly truths in what he's saying. There's a catch-22 in wrestling I see over and over when a heel actually says the truth, the automatic response is to make it about something else. Or at least make it about his nefarious actions which neutralizes the morality in whatever he otherwise says. There was a lot of that goody-two-shoes mentality in both companies in the early 90's, with brief shafts of unbearable light of truth like this (Jake even makes a nod to AIDS paranoia in this without saying it) that makes you realize why something like ECW was needed for that segment of the audience that saw well past all of that, even without the assistance of the headlines wrestling made during this time.
  17. There's some really great camera work here. Early on there's a nice sweeping shot going from the ramp to the top of the cage, and later on with the story being told between Sting and Nikita Koloff. It lasts no more than 20 seconds but it's a great bit of storytelling, burying any tension from their previous feud.
  18. Davey Boy Smith's son Harry wanted for assault after a confrontation with Jake Roberts that lead to a cup of coffee being thrown in Roberts' face.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2ZEA7XYIEY
  20. I seriously believed deep down that he'd outlive Vince. I hope he made up with David.
  21. 7 virgins and a mule
  22. I think Michael Hayes is friends with Skynyrd so it probably wasn't as hard
