RIP Roddy Piper
https://smile.amazon.com/Rowdy-Roddy-Ariel-Teal-Toombs/dp/0345816226/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1474812284&sr=1-1&keywords=roddy+piper A book is coming out next Tuesday, written by his two children, about his life. Really, really looking forward to this one even if I take the claim that it's as great as Bret's book with a little salt.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
I knew it was a good idea to skip the first 30 minutes. If he's got to vent about Meltzer & co. I understand but I don't have to listen to it either. But otherwise, this is probably the best wrestling podcast I've ever listened to. Got to admit I really underestimated Conrad when I heard him on Flair's show, and now I'll probably start listening to that soon too, now that I'm more endeared to his voice and knowledge. As for Bruce, I understand the complaint that he's still clearly loyal to Vince, but I look at it as an asset. In the whole realm of shoot interviews, and now podcasts, there are not that many guys who were on the creative level who didn't seem to still have as high much regard for Vince and WWE like Bruce does. I don't know the whole story of why he's gone from there now, but it appears that he wasn't screwed on his way out or anything else that shows any animosity towards the McMahons. I find that a little refreshing.

Wrestling books that need sequels
Regarding Bret's book, hasn't he talked about updating it? It was published after his reconciliation with Vince, but before his with Shawn Michaels. Towards the very end he has some pretty harsh words for him and Triple H. Would be interesting to see what he could write about all that came after it was published.

"Ravishing" Rick Rude
Couldn't think of anywhere else to put it as it probably doesn't warrant a thread, but I just read on his wiki page that his youngest son died earlier this month in a motorcycle accident.

[1990-08-27-WWF-Summerslam] Ted DiBiase and Dusty Rhodes
It might be lazy but it's more common in entertainment than you think. Do we ever find out why the villains of James Bond movies want to rule the world? No. Do we care? Not really, because they're that good. Same goes for DiBiase during this time. Admittedly it was not as compelling as him trying to buy the heavyweight championship, or the feud with Jake Roberts, but it was effective. I actually think it would have been better if he bought Dustin off, but I doubt that would have happened even if it was pitched.

WWE Network... It's Here
No, he didn't talk I don't think, he couldn't. It was a "Hey, look who's here !" moment. Sable did it too when Russo was in charge (or maybe they were together, but I doubt it), but they could not use her anyway. DUMBFUCKERY. That's right. A very odd moment.

Wrestler=Actor
That's a bit of a stretch, I don't think I've ever seen him blonde or speak with a Quebecois accent before.

WWE Network... It's Here
Didn't he make a few appearances in WCW in 98 or 99? I don't think he got in the ring but I have a memory of seeing him on Thunder once, being interviewed from one of the front rows.

WWE Network... It's Here
I saw a commercial for that service on the Network recently.

WWE Network... It's Here
I suppose it wasn't colossal from the standpoint that they started him purely mid-card, instead of putting him in a more high-profile angle. They might have learned from the experience with Luger a few years before that not to put all the eggs in one basket.

WWE Network... It's Here
My point is that whatever he did say in 2007, true or not, probably meant he'd never get a job at WWE again. I'll admit he was a little entertaining when they turned him heel and relied on his boxing background for a gimmick. And he did have some good in-ring work throughout the run, but the Wildman gimmick was bland and uninspired.

WWE Network... It's Here
Mero did speak out against them in 2007 after the Benoit murders, and got a lot of face time on the networks because of it. Plus, let's face it, his time in WWE was horrible. At least Vince made the money back with Sable becoming a huge attraction.

What happened to the old shows?

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Not to nitpick, but I made sure not to mention the trial. The Bronco chase, arrest and it's fallout were all over the news during the WWF trial. Looks like the topic for the next show will be about Benoit, Guerrero, Malenko and Saturn leaving WCW and coming to WWF.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
I think he also overestimated the potential national interest in the trial if it weren't for OJ which was instant international top news. It didn't even make much of a dent in sports media, as I don't think Sports Illustrated's coverage ever went beyond the initial July '91 article. I really hope it's true that the picture in Bruce's gov't file was the Brother Love trading card.

[1993-05-23-WCW-Slamboree] Vader vs Davey Boy Smith
Capetta introduces him as "The British Bulldog" and it's even emblazoned on his tights. It's my understanding that WWF prevented him from using the name in any other promotions once he was fired. How did WCW get around it? It cut to a shirt in the crowd of this match that simply said "Davey Boy Smith", which I'm guessing is indicative that they couldn't use the moniker on any merchandise.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
I think he expressed interest on Twitter at one point to make them available but nothing doing since then. I'd like to hear them too, as they were apparently very shoot-y at times.

Andre the Giant's 1991 WWF Comeback
In how Undertaker himself was eliminated (double-teamed by The Legion of Doom), they kind of achieved that. But yeah having him face off with Andre would have been a moment for sure.

I find this more funny than I probably should.- RIP Lord Littlebrook
http://www.f4wonline.com/other-wrestling/lord-littlebrook-passes-away-87-years-old-220511- WWE Network... It's Here
When news of the Benoit movie broke yesterday, I thought about what might happen if WWE tries to block it from happening. Then I thought it would be a little funny if they countered it with just going ahead and doing a documentary about the whole thing, like their version of The Jinx or Making A Murderer.- Chris Benoit movie
I've heard it's based on the book Ring of Hell- Chris Benoit movie
"Based on" could mean something different from a straight bio-pic.- The greatest cons in wrestling history
Which directly leads me into why I believe this. Barry Blaustein shot the Terry Funk stuff and ECW stuff in 1997, and during this time he was hounding WWE into letting him shoot, maybe talking to WCW too. Vince knows about the Canadian crew following Bret around, pays it no mind until Montreal or sometime after. He remember suddenly that Blaustein was sniffing around, and lets him in. Once the film comes out, he kayfabes resentment towards how the film portrayed him. If the media makes a big deal of it, which they did that won't be repeated for Wrestling With Shadows which wound up getting no press, no theatrical release and quietly premieres on A&E which was really best known for the Biography show. - UFC 203: Because CM Punk is finally fighting
