  1. I read that basically Syfy is aiming more to compete with FX and HBO as far as prestige programming, but within the genres they specialize in. They probably figure (and rightly so) that WWE wouldn't fit in there, plus USA is becoming home to more WWE product than ever now so why not. Hopefully what this ultimately does is gets Raw back down to 2 hours again.
  2. Didn't he say he'd be watching 32 from home?
  3. I recently watched the Classic Albums episode on Def Leppard's Hysteria. I'm rephrasing this a little, but there's a part where the singer is recalling something the producer said about how anything sounding too "busy" musically will just be reduced to noise in the kind of big arenas they were playing in. To me that's the difference between where the crowd was during the Steamboat/Savage match and the Hogan/Andre match. I think a good deal of the crowd was invested in Savage/Steamboat of course, but the tit-for-tat between the two of them didn't feel as conducive to such a large crowd compared to the larger-than-life nature of Hogan/Andre.
  4. Going over the comments on reddit right now. Is 200 grand over 9 months really low for a charity they publicize?
  5. Yes, but what would you add to or change on those cards to make them PPV worthy? Without watching them on the Network I can't give specifics now, but for at least the 93 show hype the hell out of Flair's in-ring return.

  7. Clash of the Champions had shows in June those years. I'd say pretty much both of those, tweaked up a little more for the PPV audience.
  8. 1,000 hours of wrestling content? Where was that in the release?
  9. I remember hearing that, I just wondered if there was more to it than that.
  10. Just a suggestion, but I think it would be a good idea in the Pro Wrestling thread to just have one thread for major events like WM instead of several which could make things confusing to some.
  11. I'd say Savage because he really put over the (no pun intended) pomp and circumstance of pro wrestling in everything he did anyway, it was custom-made for what's become The Big One. I think if you look at a lot of the more elaborate entrances over the years, he was at the start of a lot of that. And all he did was just wear cool looking stuff and did his poses.
  12. Why did Zbyszko leave WWF in 81? I've heard bits and pieces elsewhere but never understood why they didn't try to keep him after the crazy success of his run with Bruno.
  13. Rikishi's speech is pretty good, better than what I was expecting for some reason.
  14. And who's to say one still won't happen? I guess just hope that Arnold has strong feelings for his mother.
  15. Thank goodness.
  16. Just saw a clip of him on Twitter with his prediction for Sting/HHH. He's looking better.
  17. My first thought is is that they are sabotaging their own show because Savage is getting in.
  18. I remember it was the lead story on the radio the following morning. I didn't even watch the show (electing instead to watch the riveting Jesse Ventura made-for-TV biopic instead), so hearing it there was a shock.
  19. Thought it was interesting they had Okerlund set up for an interview with Flair but I guess the blade job was so bad (looked more like ECW than classic Flair-blading) they cut it out.
  20. Have to bring this up, but is this really surprising anyone given UFC's recent stance on drugs?
