  1. Being in A-list movies hasn't stopped WWE from keeping the belt on guys before though. It's just a number, and as much as I respect him he's not done nearly enough of what Ric did in those 16 title runs. To even further my bias towards Ric here, I think WWE should have at given him at least one run with the title during his 2002-2008 run.
  2. I would bet Ole was just window-dressing to give the segment and the new group a little credibility, and that if expanded upon his role would have been similar to what it was in 1990. I think if it was Roma and one other guy of his stature/talent, it wouldn't have been the flop that it eventually was. Jeff Jarrett was a much worse Horseman than Paul was.
  3. Part of the Roma problem is more that they just had 3 instead of 4, as Ole didn't do a whole lot other than that initial segment I believe.
  4. On paper Sid could have worked, and they could have stayed faces. But if it actually happened, there's a chance the scissor incident still could have happened.

  6. About the B shows, I think it would be interesting if they just made compilations out of those. Just put the best matches and segments together and put them in chronological packages that go up in order.
  7. Sounds like it was used on Glee.
  8. They didn't use "Born In The U.S.A." then? The replacement sounds very Springsteen (that is, if Reagan brain-washed him).
  9. Darius Rucker (or Hootie for some of us still stuck in the 90's) just asked his fans on Twitter who was the greatest wrestler who never held the world championship.
  10. @TNACreative pointing out the bullshit on Twitter was nice. Between this and a lot of the original programming I get the sinking feeling that the order of the day with Network is to establish a legacy lionizing Vince McMahon built on half-truths and out and out lies.
  11. Don't think I can watch this "Monday Night Wars" special. Hearing Vince imitating Turner's "I'm in the wrasslin' business now" for the umpteenth time isn't doing it for me.
  12. Maybe legally but marijuana technically is not a narcotic.
  13. The "narcotic paraphernalia" bit is a little troubling though, unless that was just bad wording. Alcohol yes, weed maybe, but I have a little bit of a hard time seeing him as a coke-head.
  14. Any more info on this? I heard Meltzer effectively say he wasn't interviewed but should have been..... Not that I've seen. I'm surprised they didn't reach out to Dave, but that was probably the filmmaker's prerogative as I would imagine ESPN gives them more leeway. What I want to know is if WWE licensed them any footage or that it will rely on what ESPN themselves have because they had a home at World Class for awhile.
  15. Silly question but is there a chance all the "The Main Event" shows (IE Andre beating Hogan) will not be included in this coming package?
  16. Really? I've never heard this. I suppose it isn't exactly out of the realms of possibility, it's not like recreational drug use is solely confined to the wrestlers. Wasn't Heenan having a lot of neck problems around this time also? http://www.thehistoryofwwe.com/91.htm 1/1/91: Bobby Heenan was arrested the day after he collapsed on an airplane. Police found 48 grams of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia in his baggage.
  17. Bobby Heenan was arrested for pot possession in 1991?
  18. Monday night on the live feed there will be a preview of the new Monday Night Wars specials.
  19. Kevin Von Erich tweeted the other day that the ESPN 30 For 30 film on his family will air toward the end of summer.
  20. It would be interesting if he changed his working style once he came to WCW, if he'd have gotten over easier with those crowds. Maybe not but it would have been more interesting to watch at least.
  21. I was at this show. This was the highlight of the show from what I remember. This is when the Nitro Girls were dispatched to frat parties and I believe this segment followed one of those, particularly because the TV screens where we were supposed to see it weren't working. Also couldn't see the power bomb which this segment was a follow-up on.

Completely random, but is Droz still a WWE employee?
  23. To be fair, I think if they had stuck around Vince would be accused of just sticking with the same old guys on top. You can't exactly move Hulk Hogan to the midcard. Somehow he did it with Savage, but a lot of that would be attributed to Hogan not being around because they worked so well together. And guys like Bret and Shawn would be much more compelled to leave. In the bizzaro-world scenario where that happens, WCW could really have set themselves apart from WWF by saying that they were the new generation while Vince was old hat.
  24. The 20-man tags are my favorites too, especially the one in '88.
