Does anybody give a shit about Randy Orton?
The program he did with Mick Foley is probably the best single angle WWE has done since the WCW buyout. It was at least the one that had me the most attuned and cheered Mick and fucking loathed Randy. Ever since the product has been what it is, and with it's share of great matches but no program has landed like that one did with me. His in-ring work is pretty good, but his character sucks, his music sucks and he's not that great on the stick.

Was just about to post that lol. I didn't see the match, but one thing I am very curious about is if Ric and Bret buried their animosities any. I hope so, Ric needs as much emotional support from his peers at this point in his life.

"_______ should have been a top guy"
Goldust was a great promo, and when he broke away from that character he was better on the mic. Sting didn't need to be that intelligent an interview, his enthusiasm and intensity would get over more than his verbiage.

WWE quirks, linguistic and otherwise
More likely Brooklyn, Manhattan, etc, etc.

Their marijuana policy is idiotic, but I understand it to a degree. The price of being a publicly traded company.

"_______ should have been a top guy"
Starting him at the Royal Rumble was nice but not very overwhelming. I heard here that he said he wished he could have told Vince that he would have been ready for WrestleMania, because of his health issues. That would have been the best platform for him to debut in, possibly in the same way he started in Japan how he annihilated Inoki. To their credit, his performance in that 4-way match a year later brought him some goodwill and I believe they were going to put the IC belt on him, possibly leading to even bigger things for him. Then Kuwait happened.

[1996-07-07-WCW-Bash at the Beach] Sting & Lex Luger & Randy Savage vs Scott Hall & Kevin Nash & Hulk Hogan
For those watching in the arena and live on PPV, and because he still had a following and recognition for being the top hero, the high of seeing him come out (because he'd not been on TV or rarely mentioned by the announcers much for over 2 months by this point) would overwhelm anything anybody was saying. Which is what made the legdrop to Savage all the more powerful an image.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Between the two I'd have to say 54. He looked quite young when he won the tag team belts with Rocky.

I figured he'd do it first but not really surprised that one of them did it anyway. Timing of it is a bit strange, but I don't see it as the momentum killer some others here are saying it is. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

"_______ should have been a top guy"
In WCW, yes. I think he could have perservered through the Hogan era though. Not that he ever would have used it (more often it could have been used against his own momentum getting over), but his father was still a big part of the company and that kind of nepotism could have been a good balance against Hogan's influence. I could see him on the side of WCW like Savage, Luger and eventually Sting would be during the height of the NWO angle. In WWF I think he would have gotten the Goldust character regardless. To his credit he did make it work although it made the product awfully awkward, as his segments were counter-intuitive to the family-friendly approach they had in 95 and 96. But I'm just glad to see him part of the show now, especially performing like it's still the 90's. Thanks DDP. I was just thinking about it, but if WWE was a bit more forward thinking they could recycle some of those controversial angles, with less direct sexual overtones but made to just screw with guys' heads. But with Dust as a face this time.

Curt Hennig. Had he never injured his back, he could have had the kind of career Bret or Shawn ultimately did have with Vince. If it all would have worked out before egos became involved between Bret and Shawn, Curt would have been the perfect common enemy that they could have exchanged lengthy title runs with. I don't know how well he would have fit in with the Attitude era character-wise but I could see him switching to the more intense working style that point in time produced.

I always figured it would be Ambrose who would turn, he has more of a natural heel look.

How is the Network going to affect WWE Home Video?
Is that stuff from '86 and '87?

WWE PayBack - Live as it happens
Intense match, but kind of a cutesy ending. That chair spot was insane.

The Steve Austin Show
Really liked Vader's interview. Much better than his KC Timeline I'll admit. It's funny how Steve has become the best shoot interviewer around.

[1997-01-19-WWF-Royal Rumble] Royal Rumble
Mostly memorable due to Austin's performance, and doing the Diesel '94 angle all over again. It seemed more like luck that he got these guys out whereas with Diesel you can believe this big monster would be making short work of everyone. At the time it was interesting seeing all the Mexican guys appear, but now it appears pretty desperate knowing the whole story of how basically it was a free show and they scrambled to give it as much local flavor as they could when they realized Shawn was not as big a draw in Texas as they thought.

WWE Network... It's Here
Man that'll be something if they all go up. I really enjoyed last night's Legends House. No goofy challenges because the game show thing was more character-based rather than seeing who can make pancakes the quickest. Duggan being the anxious boyfriend waiting for Piper to call back was funny too.

How is the Network going to affect WWE Home Video?
I don't know how much it would help either sales or Network numbers but it would be cool if they had one-night only showings of documentaries they are putting out like the upcoming Heyman one. It wouldn't completely stop the piracy of it from happening, but it would probably help them in the long-run if they want both the Network and Home Video departments to be strong.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
This brings something up I haven't asked before. Wasn't Steve Austin supposed to do the show at some point a few years earlier? Why I heard it never happened had something to do with Jim Breuer being fired,
