Since we're only 2 TV shows and 1 PPV into the "new ECW" era, I can't judge it as either a success or failure just yet, no matter how good the TV ratings are, or how awful-sounding the show was (I live in Canada, so I've yet to see the TV show, and was busy the night of the PPV). I'm going to wait a month or so from now before giving my opinions on the new era.

I'm no HHH fan, but in fairness to the guy, there hasn't been that many DVDs he's commented on. On top of that, they had tons of people interviewed for this one. The most I've seen in fact.

Goldust was released. That sucks cause he could help the RAW tag division.

I should add that the "American Dream" theme is in the documentary and extras, which is a little strange considering it was edited out of WM6 in the WM Anthology.

Got this over the weekend, and it's pretty much everything it was expected to be. The documentary was very well done, with a LOT of people being interviewed, including TREVOR MURDOCH~! Lots and lots of extras, but a warning: The Florida stuff is clipped, including the '81 title win over Race. Many people may already know and expect that, but it needed to be brought up. Also, to Will: The Bruiser/Crusher matches are clipped (second one is 2/3 falls), but the Robinson/Muraco one (also 2/3 falls) is in full and runs about 21 minutes. If you've never seen early 70s Don Muraco before, you're in for a bit of shock, considering what he looked like in the 80s.

That slow version of Real American was one of the best pieces of work Jim Johnson ever did. (Or did Jimmy Hart do that?) I loved how midway through to the end of the song, they would have this "magical" part of the music with footage of Hogan and the fans, and then it would become "darker" music, showing Quake's attack on Hogan. What's funny is that angle happened right when I had a subscription to WWF Magazine and, in a way, that angle was covered in TWO issues. The only thing is that the first issue was showing a different attack on Hogan by Quake on the Brother Love Show, in that when he was attacked, he was still wearing the T-shirt. Not so in the televised footage. I guess they rehearsed the angle at a house show or something. It was weird.

That would be Dino Bravo.

If you need a sure bet as to how much of a class act Tenta is, look at how much he took time out to chat with wrestling fans online at Wrestlecrap when he obviously had greater concerns. A class act indeed, and one of my favourite WWF villians. RIP.

I know the WWE's been promoting their history a lot, but this piece of merchandise certainly came out of nowhere.

Reading about many people standing behind Booker, as well as Booker giving the proverbial "fuck you" to Batista may not make up for Booker losing to the H's at WM19, but it does put a smile on my face.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia actually has a page for DVDVR, although it'll likely get deleted soon, and part of it has the Lance Storm stuff, albeit VERY briefly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Valley_..._V._Lance_Storm Without going into too much detail, Storm is right about wrestling being a subjective art, but it also isn't the only thing that's subjective which people make lists on, and you don't see other celebrities overreacting to lists on Rolling Stone, MAXIM, or other sorts of production material. As to why Storm garnered a reputation for being "great", I think it's due to partly the Calgary Connection, as well as ECW having a false reputation for being the only North American promotion with real good wrestling in it (at least many people thought that way in comparison to the WWF and WCW) and Storm was a part of the top of its heap. Sounds short and simple, I know, but at the same time, if and why Storm is "great" has never been examined heavily anyway.

I think the main source between any heat between Austin and Flair was not over the Blondes, but more over Flair grooming Austin to be the next one, yet when Hogan arrived, Flair just left Austin to die, at least in Austin's mind. Loss might be able to help me out on this one.

Hmmm....let's see.... You have a young tag team, where one worker is already very good, and the other one is getting better each passing day. This team is very flashy and flamboyant, and knows how to piss off the fans. They're a very over tag team, arguably the most over tag team the company has seen in at least a little while. They win the titles, and work a number of great matches with different teams. They get broken up far too soon than they should have. Am I talking about these guys: Or these guys:
