Brock is back
Brock vs RVD from Vengeance 02 is really good. Even with the bull plop finish.

Brock is back
I always thought Brock had drawn fairly well for the time period he was champion. My eight year old asked me why Brock was a big deal. I told him he beat John Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker and Big Show. His eyes got really wide because he could not believe one man could do that.

Punk vs Henry and watching wrestling "cold"
I don't see the problem with a clean count out finish. Henry power slammed Punk on the floor and got in the ring at the last instant. I rather than the Jericho run in I was expecting.

24/7 Roundtable Thread
I put it here because it was connected to the celebrity discussion on the last episode.

Mania as it happens.
Harlem Heat reunited in late 1999 to win the WCW Tag Team titles. I used them specifically since they were the champions at the time WCW was booking ICP as a tag team. It is stupid to book one of your champions to lose to a D list celebrity cleanly on your biggest show of the year. It is disrespectful both to the wrestlers and the regular viewers. Like why did you even post, if you were going to try slink away with a sarcasm shield? Why waste everyone's time?

That was pretty stupid too, but at least LT was a genuine star. He also did not put him over a champion and book a in jury angle for the celeb. So it is exactly like WCW booking ICP to beat Harlem Heat cleanly in 1999.

How the fuck is it not like that?

I don't think the reason matters. She should have lost. This would of been like WCW having Insane Clown Posse beat Harlem Heat cleanly.

Its just a new low for WWE star fucking. Shit even WCW never hit a low like that. If WWE booked the David Arqutte win. he would of simply pinned Jarrett cleanly.

The divas match was hilarious. They do an injury angle for the celeb and she still wins. Glad Beth got a pay day, but that was a huge "Fuck You" to someone who deserves better.

Maria Menunos is more protected than Daniel Bryan. Fuck WWE

24/7 Roundtable Thread
Lawler did try it in 96. Guys usually get dragged back in, but in this case only Austin cared as everyone else wanted the bounty. I would have assumed Vince would of eliminated himself if it got down to him and a bounty hunter.

A thread in which Dylan compares various wrestlers to HHH
HHH was getting a big midcard push from the time he won the IC Title in 96 til he joined DX. I think he lost outright twice in a year. Once to Sid (who was WWF Champ) and then to Cactus Jack at MSG.

Massively hyped and then buried at the event
Brakus had a mini feud with Taz starting at November to Remember 97. Taz beat him at Cyber Slam 98.

Puts the current crop of divas in perspective. Missy was not nearly pretty enough to make up for being so untalented and boring.

A thread in which Dylan compares various wrestlers to HHH
Jarrett from the start was very good. I don't think many would dispute that at the height of his push in Memphis he was tic for tac with Lawler. After that he had to get by on his own talent. I think HHH being married to Stephanie is overstated. For whatever reason, Vince was riding Trips nuts way before he married his kid.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Maybe he had copies of some of those documents, as a sort of "portfolio" for his next employers to show his previous success. Wouldn't he appear more successful if he stuck with the 93K number? At the time WCW was really laying the boots to the WWF. What better way than tarnishing their biggest moment ever?

Dave Meltzer stuff
He was working for WCW at the time.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
As money mark wannabe wrestlers go, Insane Clown Posse > Shane McMahon.

The point is dramatically a world with uncaring or hostile gods works better. It makes triumph all the sweeter.

Worked pretty well in 98. The board of directors are Crom.

The WWF power hierarchy has long been corrupt. At least since the days, they gave Brother Love a televised forum.

The Board of Directors has been around since 98. They needed something to explain why Vince did not just strip Austin of the title.

Orton changed his gimmick from date rapist to plain rapist years ago.
