Bockwinkel vs. Flair
Parv, you understand Flair is a dead lock to beat Bockwinkel in the final vote, right?

Bockwinkel vs. Flair
Just curious why you think this is particularly true for this pair? Anyone who's watched all the '80s sets has at least a solid grasp of Bockwinkel. We're never going to get a full glimpse of his (or Flair's) work from the '70s so that's a dead end.

Finlay vs Regal
And I see OJ posted about Finlay and Paula as I was posting.

Finlay vs Regal
I agree with your larger point, but Finlay was damn good in early '80s WOS. I'm repeating an old OJ argument, but he really went to seed when he paired up with Princess Paula. And that led to him having an unusually weak mid-career for a guy who was great both as a young wrestler and an old wrestler. I will likely vote Regal higher in GWE because of his greater consistency, but I might prefer peak Finlay to peak Regal. Finlay's offense just felt so authentically violent that he sucked me deep into his best matches.

There you go with your "logic" again.😀

Night of Champions Thread.
Well, Sting doesn't look any worse than he did in the 1997 Starcade main event.

I'm really hoping Cena gets past this PWG ace phase.

And we're into Cena-Owens finisher Hell.

I hate it too, except for in trios when the partners hold the guy up. I actually kind of liked this one because it looked like Rollins was standing on Cena's hand (held on the top rope) to keep him there I saw that but Cena still had to do a sit-up and hold it. Just an ill-conceived spot.

Night of Champions Thread.
I hate the tree-of-woe double stomp. It so blatantly requires the opponent to hold himself in an unnatural position to take it.

The logical move would be for all champions to disqualify themselves in every match.

On the other hand, I feel perfectly justified bitching about an hour worth of Seth Rollins. Ugh.

Night of Champions Thread.
But the match was pretty good so I should stop bitching.

He's thicker but I wouldn't say he dwarfs Harper at all. Point is, Harper's a great big, unique looking dude who can actually work. And they treat him like just another midcarder.

The sad thing is Harper is nearly as big as Strowman and 10 times as talented but WWE reduced him to just another guy long ago.

2015 Scenic City Invitational
Add me to the chorus of folks who enjoyed this. I didn't love any individual match (liked many and didn't dislike any) but it was a very well booked tournament. There was real diversity in the field and they did a great job establishing each character, then playing them off one another in ways that kept both nights fresh. It's a testament to the booking that you could've gone into the final with an equally valid rooting interest in any of the four guys. For that reason, I probably appreciated the final most. We often see in WWE how hard it is to keep a three- or four-way balanced and interesting. But they really pulled it off.

NWA On Demand
I definitely think it's the best Eaton/Condrey vs. Fans. It's been a long time since I've watched the most pimped Eaton/Lane vs. Fans matches. But my sense is this is right on par with those if not better.

NWA On Demand
The Fans-Midnights match was spectacular. Those were about as good a shine and FIP as you could pack into 15-17 minutes, and the crowd was batshit for it. Feels like that match would've been a top 10 contender on the Watts DVDVR set, and that's saying something.

2015 Scenic City Invitational
Just started watching and one thing that quickly struck me was the quality of the announcing. Really good combination of calling the action, enthusiasm for the product and explaining the bios of the wrestlers.

NWA On Demand
Finally signed up. First match I watched was Harley vs. Andre--very cool to see Andre work as an old-school NWA title challenger. This service is a wonderful addition to our little world.

Tiger Mask/Super Tiger/Satoru Sayama
Why is it lame? They were contemporaries who were both pushing the envelope in terms of athletic spots. And it struck many people who watched them match up on the DVDVR set that Hamada looked better. Your points about the two working differently are fair, but it's a natural comparison, not a lame one.
