All Elite Wrestling
Seems like more folks still under the influence of WWE Brain thinking the only way to book a red hot babyface is to beat them and beat them and beat them until they are nothing special.

WWE TV 10/18 - 10/24 Did you know Rod Stewart plagiarized a Brazilian artist?
The numbers came out and Smackdown and Rampage both got a 0.24 in the demo so that's another WWE ploy to fuck with AEW that failed. I can't wait for Vince to *really* dig into his playbook and send Roman and the Usos to the site of an AEW taping in a tank.

Sounds like you have a lot of pent up TNA rage, which is probably a pretty common issue lol.

Funny thing about that is I thought WWE kept all the titles to avoid this sort of thing from happening.

WWE TV 10/11 - 10/17 All Is Not Well in the House of Riddle
Roman finally being seen as a top guy without backlash with the fans is all the elevation WWE was looking for, tbh.

That actually would be pretty cool if the capper to the "Arn beats the weakness out of Cody" angle ends up being him snapping and murdering someone beloved like Punk.

Also while I get why he did it (especially considering the major criticism leveled about his dad), but barring himself from ever challenging for the world title was probably AEW's biggest misstep since it took him out of the main event picture permanently.

It's a term people coined to describe how everything Cody does seems to be completely in its own universe disconnected from everything else going on in AEW.

Basically it's the US title as JCP booked it, either held by the #2 guy in your company or someone you want to strap the rocket to.

The obvious answer to "why isn't *X* in this tournament" of course is Tony doesn't want top level guys taking unnecessary Ls. He clearly has things mapped out and unlike certain other major US wrestling companies, doesn't want to beat folks he has other plans for.

I mean if we're going to start kayfabe explanations of this tournament, the much bigger question is why would Preston Vance be in it? For that matter, why is Dustin in it? Yeah he has awesome matches but he's hardly been positioned as a legit world title contender.

It's going to be an amazing moment when Hangman wins the title. That promo was money.

I love that the story is Arn is trying to beat the bitch out of Cody

Watching on DVR since I just got off work, and goddamn did Lambert crack me up with the "holy shit do you put your shirts on feet first" line on Jake Hager and his big ass head.

AEW Saturday Night Dynamite - October 16, 2021
It's a weird spot, the crowd clearly wants to cheer him but he's much better as a heel and storyline wise you kind of had to put him with the Elite to start off.

FTR: Defenders of Old School Tag Team Wrestling becoming the champions of AAA is goddamn hilarious to me.

Rush had major knee surgery and is out until next year so it was never going to be him regardless.

AEW Saturday Night Dynamite - October 16, 2021
It was always "Andrade's masked tag team" and then when everyone on Twitter went wild suggesting luchadors it became "who will be under the masks" as if not someone who normally wears a mask. So they never actually teased anyone but that didn't stop everyone's imaginations from going off.

WWE TV 10/11 - 10/17 All Is Not Well in the House of Riddle
Well Brock washed out of the NFL in training camp, so clearly Roman is the superior athlete (/all the sarcasm I can muster)

WWE TV 10/11 - 10/17 All Is Not Well in the House of Riddle
This is so spot on. Roman's comments come off so bad for WWE's booking since he seems bemused/confused, or as you said even a little salty that other team can get its fans to cheer for their babyfaces and he's over here like that scene from Fresh Prince when Will's deadbeat dad came back only to ghost him again. Roman's all "WHY DON'T THEY LOVE ME MAN"

Yeah but going on about your REAL SPORTZ bonafides in the context of pro wrestling makes him kind of look like a mark. The Rock didn't become the biggest star in the business because he was on the Miami Hurricanes football team.

Ric Flair (sigh)
Right wing grift might be his best career opportunity at this point. At least he won't lose those gigs over sexual harassment charges.

AEW Rampage (and The Buy In) - October 15 2021
Interesting to see people not liking happy Punk. I get how it's a difference in how we're used to seeing him, but knowing how much of his crabby demeanor previously was based on his real life dissatisfaction with his life at that point makes me happy to see him so jovial on TV now. Fun Uncle Punk may not be the best gimmick for him but it's undeniably better for him as a person.

I love how WWE had a plan to front load the first segment of Smackdown to mess with the West Coast feed of Rampage and their plan to do that was a long ass segment of Edge EMOTING. I do like the idea of Sonya and Shayna killing people so that was good
