AEW TV - 3/13 - 3/16 - Big Bu Dollar Signs Ine Dollar Signs
Apparently right after it happened there were fears Mercedes' injury could be career-ending, and now she's opening Dynamite in her home town blowing the roof off the joint. I can't even imagine the levels of emotions she must have been feeling.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
To be as fair as I can be, it's believable that some WWE execs knew they were giving Vince's latest girlfriend a no-work job without knowing about the trafficking. Now should they have asked more questions? Probably, but we've known for like 40 years everyone knows their careers are at the mercy of Vince's whims. Plus i think there's levels to the executive class in WWE as well. I 100% believe anyone who made it into Vince's trusted inner circle knew (or at least had a pretty good idea) of what went on, but maybe not so much the assistant VP of legal affairs or someone like that.

WWE TV 03/11 - 03/17 Losing a pet sucks
Love seeing Brooks Jensen ditching the cowboy gear only to look like an up and coming southern babyface on a studio wrestling show circa 1982 (complete with Ole shirt).

Gonna be interesting that WWE is having Summerslam in the Browns's stadium this year. It's pretty much as close to Lake Erie as you can get without being in it, and depending on the jet stream the winds coming off it can be quite chilly even in the summer.

Also throwing in the stipulation that Cody never gets another title shot if he loses is brilliant since it calls back to when he did it in AEW (and lost).

As dumb as it was I lol'd at the "dead brother" line

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Maybe they didn't know names, but even Vince couldn't keep all this under wraps without help. Plus there's no way TKO does a billion dollar deal like this without asking "hey, what's all that money Vince has earmarked for payoffs all about?"

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Let's not forget JR's position in the company at the time he was in WWE, there's no way his hands aren't dirty covering this kind of shit up.

Damien was one of the groomsmen

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Movies like that really don't try to convert anyone, they're just catnip for people who are already believers. Everything I've ever heard about Kevin Kelly made him seem like a putz at best, and anyone I've seen who's shown any positive feelings about that movie were folks with terrible opinions on everything so it won't take much convincing for me to put 2 and 2 together.

AEW TV - 3/6 - 3/9 - Okada is (All) Elite
Elite vs Eddie/Penta/Pac at Big Business? Yes please! Also glad Pac is back, I missed that angry little gremlin.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I was coming at it more in terms of Ian being by all accounts (that I've seen) the most wholesome IRL babyface and if that guy's talking shit about you, you know you probably fucked up good. I agree with your assesment of 99% of people in the biz, but if anyone was in that 1% it would probably be Ian.
-
Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
TBH 99.9% of the people praising that movie were q-plled morons and I would wager Ian probably is aware of his political beliefs. Anyone who has those beliefs deserves to be pointed and made fun of so I feel pretty comfortable in saying fuck Kevin Kelly. I mean if Ian goddamn Riccaboni of all people is calling you out on your bullshit that should be a very clear sign you messed up.

WWE TV - 03/04 - 03/09 Dom vs GUNTHER is my type of bullshit
I love how the "IWC=NERDS" and "HEEL ROCKY RULES" signs just add to the Attitude Era-ness of everything

WWE TV - 03/04 - 03/09 Dom vs GUNTHER is my type of bullshit
Nothing in pro wrestling is better than heel Rock being completely extra. Dude is the Tom Brady of rasslin. You may not like the guy but you can't deny he's the best to do this by a large margin.

WWE TV - 03/04 - 03/09 Dom vs GUNTHER is my type of bullshit
As much as it would make sense storyline wise to do GUNTHER vs Gable and have Gable win, it would seem a little anti climatic to have the record setting IC title run ended by the THANKYEW guy. Maybe this is their way to pivot to Chad Gable: Serious Wrestler, and if so I'd gladly take the L for my comment. Honestly I hope it is.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
FWIW Dave mentioned in an update that AEW didn't even bother to ask WWE if they could use any of their footage of Sting, I suppose they assumed they'd say no and didn't even want to waste their time.

Would Vince McMahon ever start or buy another wrestling company?
Vince = pro wrestling to 99% of TV execs, and WWE has been a top ratings draw for cable forever, so I wouldn't put it past some TV company giving him a flier. However I would think he's going to have his hands full defending the lawsuits to be starting any new businesses wrestling related or otherwise.

AEW TV - 3/6 - 3/9 - Okada is (All) Elite
AEW is an embarrassment of riches at this point.... Okada, Ospreay, Danielson, Joe, Swerve.....holy shit man. Also I couldn't help but laugh at Darby being all "welp I might die on Everest" in his promo.

Dark Side of the Ring
So it made sense in context of them being best friends who went different paths, Tenta went back to Japan and Fred ended up falling on his ass on live TV. Haku losing his mind laughing made the whole thing worth it tho.

Pat acknowledging the match was one of those reminders Vince isn't around anymore for sure.

AEW Revolution 2024
On a show where only the main event really mattered, every match delivered. I don't think it was BEST PPV EVAR but it was the best one AEW has had in a while.

AEW Revolution 2024
Literally started throwing punches in the air marking out when the classic Sting theme hit

AEW Revolution 2024
Opening a wound has been a strategy in pro wrestling forever, and also it's been well established in AEW lore that Mox is a sick fuck.
