  1. I wonder if Montez was attacked by 28 Marines leading to him passing out.
  2. This is like ECW and Bloodsport had a weird baby...
  3. OK so if this ends in Kross murdering Shane I'm willing to go along with it.
  4. Well I guess Shane finally gets to run his own MMA promotion after all.
  5. To me it shows they view Shane as the expendable McMahon they can put in the Covid Pit and not lose anything of value. Also a faction is supposed to be debuting and WWE is already putting out "leaks" stating it's not political and only involves WWE. With that kind of disclaimer it makes me think MVP's group is going to go full Nation of Domination.
  6. The first half of New Japan shows have always been giving the Young Lions a chance to work and/or giving the older dudes a break by working a six man match. This is like a WWF Attitude Era situation where once the main events aren't amazing you start to notice half the rest of the card isn't really that great.
  7. I was just thinking how in every other wrestling promotion in the world ever the angle they did would set up a hair match, but in 2020 WWE it will probably lead to something being billed as a Normal Wrestling Match with no stips whatsoever.
  8. This is by far the biggest factor. WWF in 1995 compared to 1985 look like two entirely different promotions. WWE in pre-covid 2020 compared to WWE 2010 might as well be the exact same show. Same sets, same wrestlers, only the announcers are (slightly) different.
  9. It struck me just because WWE has been pretty adamant in having any intergender interaction be limited to women getting the best of men (see Robert Stone getting beat up by Shotzi and Rhea in NXT) that it was legitimately shocking to me when Bray put his hands on her.
  10. Melissa Coates posted this on Facebook in response to someone asking what she looks for in a man: She's been with Sabu for a long time. Not sure if they're still together but I had to lol at "Takes care of his body" being one of the items on her list.
  11. I'm thinking they saw his excursion in CMLL and realized "oh shit, this guy isn't as good as we thought he would be" and decided he'd be better off as a gimmick character. Also New Japan just announced a tournament for the six man titles and there's some interesting pairings:
  12. This. It's more an issue of them trying to crack down on boobie streamers than anything else.

He did. Literally years ago. The folks looking to dig this up don't even realize it's already been dealt with.

There's already a luchador on the Mexican indy scene named Coronavirus.
  15. Montez Ford is another "how are they not making all the money with this guy?" situation. How did it take Paul Heyman running Raw for anyone in charge on the main roster to realize that maybe we should push the super charismatic guy?

Looking back, I wonder how much of his retirement talk was just frustration of not ever getting a big break anywhere. Being on NWA Power when it was the new hotness getting all the buzz seemed to revitalize him.

Maybe, but then they are roping in Owens with that too since he was involved so even that blows up in their faces if that was the goal. Owens spoke about it in (I think) a shoot interview where he said he had to be talked into it and it was one of those things that the moment he did it he realized it was a bad idea. Regarding other topics: Kingston being signed is the best news of 2020 so far. Him being on a national level working for a promotion that won't spend all their time watering him down will be nothing short of amazing. Also Taz is absolutely great at his job right now. Not only can he step in for the lead commentator while still maintaining his heel persona, he's got Brian Cage established as a draw in a matter of weeks. Having Ricky Starks in his group is a good move too. Have Taz establish him to the AEW crowd and eventually he can be split off since he doesn't need a mouthpiece speaking for him. Oh yeah, give MJF all the belts too.

Both him and Owens addressed this and explained/apologized for it literally years ago the first time this came up. This is not only an attempt at gotcha but a lazy one.
  19. Most Twitch bans are only for a couple days/weeks, if it was something permanent it would have made the news since it would have had to involve some really bad behavior.
  20. Honestly I wonder if house shows will go away when the pandemic is over. There were people asking if they were still worthwhile before everything happened, and the consensus was WWE just does them because that's how things have always been done. With there being clear numbers showing what a money pit they are, I can see Vince only running TV and PPV shows and dump the rest.
  21. Those record profits don't even count the layoffs since those people were still being paid until July, which makes it even more gross. What was a real eye opener is what a money loser live events have been. Turns out when you pay to rent out a major arena and only draw 4,000 people you lose your ass, who knew.
  22. So much of the focus is put on the indy stars that the homegrown talent is left to rot at the PC, how many stories are there of folks who've been in "not even on NXT TV as a jobber" hell at the PC for *years*. You can't improve as a wrestler without wrestling, and all this stockpiling of talent just to play keep away is just causing more damage to the trainees.

I mean, he's had a lot of time on his hands and I guess it wasn't all being spent on booking his action figure fed. They can only work with folks in the US, willing to travel, and can test negative. I'm sure at this point they'd probably give any of us a one shot if we check all the boxes.
  24. Twitter recently cracked down on Qanon conspiracy bullshit, which of course only proves the conspiracy to the dummies.

I saw a lot of people getting overly mad over Cameron as if she wasn't just a body to fill the women's tag tourney. If she beats Shida next week yeah by all means scream, but I'm not going to get all OMG NEPOTISM over someone being #14 in a 16 person field.
