WWE TV 7/27 - 8/2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE KING OF KINGS
Balor was so much better as a heel as the OG head of Bullet Club where he had Bad Luck Fale as his Diesel. Him trying to come off as a heel by his lonesome just doesn't click the same way.

Blonde Rhea Ripley is one lip snarl away from being full Billy Idol at this point.

Showing the Pat McAfee-Adam Cole thing on NXT TV made Cole look even more like a geek. Not to mention being physically dwarfed by a guy who's position is normally the smallest guy on an NFL team.

MJF out here just lobbing truth bombs left and right.

I legit thought for a second that lady in MJF's receiving line there was Ronda Rousey.

FTR trying hard to get a styrofoam cooler full of beer over as a weapon. Also I think I figured out the problem with the Mr. Brodie Lee character: It's hard to be an evil Vince standee when you look like a thin Mick Foley in a suit.

AEW Dynamite - July 29, 2020
They were doing an angle with Tony Khan on Twitter where they complained they weren't being listed in the tag team rankings and Tony said it was because they weren't officially signed yet. So I suppose the decision is in theory them announcing they're "officially" signed, but I wouldn't be surprised if its the kick off of something big.

The Decline of NXT - When? How? Why?
I mean, with Mauro at least you know he's being himself (for better or worse), Beth sounds like she's tied to a chair and being given electric shocks any time she isn't yelling.

The Decline of NXT - When? How? Why?
NXT never really knew what it wanted to be. Was it a developmental group? Showcase of indy superstars? 80s JCP TV done modern? Home of high level women's wrestling? They tried to be all things and in the end it never really was able to do any of those things.

Is Impact* the best wrestling promotion in history? *(Now TNA again, 2024)
Not sure if typo or if she really does have great abs and I never noticed lol

The Decline of NXT - When? How? Why?
The bloom started to come off the rose when it became clear that for all the talk/hope of NXT being the Great Hope of Wrestling, it was apparent that none of the people there were going to get a chance on WWE main roster TV without getting their legs cut off. It created a feeling of "why bother getting invested when they will just get ruined when they get called up" which cooled off a lot of the enthusiasm a lot of people had.

WWE TV 7/27 - 8/2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE KING OF KINGS
In all of this we're ignoring the weirdest part: that Kofi is somehow out for 6 weeks or more from being put through two tables. That happens all the time and people are back the next show with no scratches. As far as Big E goes, there's no reason WWE doesn't go all in on a big singles push other than the obvious one. Dude is a walking money printing machine, yet WWE has been fine leaving him as a tag guy which wouldn't be as bad if WWE didn't give zero F's about tag teams.

Yeah but that appearance was after he was accused of sexual assault, which is a deal breaker no matter how over you get yourself.

I realize it's way down the list of problems here, but why is Murphy dressed like he arrived at the building right after going surfing?

WWE TV 7/27 - 8/2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE KING OF KINGS
Well Dominic has the babyface comeback down, I'll give him that. Yeah but there's not much they can do since Austin Theory got banished to the Phantom Zone due to covid (I assume).

I mean if anyone could pull it off it would be her, but her style and gimmick was far better suited for working heel.

Current New Japan
From what Dave has mentioned, it's just what foreigners have always been called and wrestling is wrestling no matter where in the world it's based and just keeps using the term. Also it seems that Americans wrestling in Japan especially kind of took ownership of it and kind of made it "their word". Not that it makes it okay, but Japan has a very......terse relationship with any race that isn't Japanese.

WWE TV 7/27 - 8/2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE KING OF KINGS
I long for the olden days where wrestlers were more concerned about making sure they were the ones who got over and not the all important BRAND.

If Black Thought was the one who did it, it wouldn't be a double standard as much as a dude of the same race trying to point something out. "White person attempts to educate black person on race" is never going to go well no matter what because of the dynamics in play. Calling it a double standard is some "why can't white folks use the n-word" shit. When there's a disparity in power/privileged/etc, someone of the race that has the privilege should know when to STFU and that was one of those times. Plus there's no evidence Keith Lee is an idiot, if anything it's quite the contrary. I would wager it was probably done since it's the obvious joke considering he's a large black man and it's his way of beating people to the punch and making it first. To be fair we are talking about professional wrestlers so one cannot completely dismiss the possibility that someone is an idiot, it just doesn't seem to be the case here.

Yeah that was kind of what caused the fuss on Twitter, Bruce's intentions were probably in the right place but he came off as an old dude whitesplaining to Keith Lee about what is racist. Like he obviously named the move himself and most likely did it to "take the piss" like the Brits say, he doesn't need to be lectured about it.

To be fair, there's probably a non zero chance that it's Hunter writing Vince's tweets.

It's a pretty common one in the adult industry, and also common for folks seeking out a particular style of said content.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
So I'm a little embarrassed to admit that until Bruce Mitchell had his little Twitter outburst about it I never made the connection that Keith Lee's finish was named the BBC. I was stuck on what a stupid name "Big Bang Catastrophe" is that my brain never took the next step to look at the initials.
