WWE TV 06/15 - 06/23 Liv Morgan.
Never thought I'd see RIC FLAIR trying to be the voice of reason to someone attempting an ill-advised return to the ring.

Nattie and Lana going all Thelma and Louise and burning it down could be an interesting turn.

WWE TV 06/15 - 06/23 Liv Morgan.
I decided to go to a SD taping when I was in Orlando a few years back and it ended up being the one where Orton won the big gold belt from Christian. It's probably still the best match I've seen live.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
That's kind of more damning of Bruce than praising Cornette, especially since we saw him doing a quasi racist angle right out of the 80s last night with Tozawa. I don't doubt Jim is more in tune with modern wrestling, though. Bruce's only motivation since he first joined the WWF has been do to whatever he can to be Vince's personal hand puppet.

WWE Network... It's Here
Watching part 4 of the Taker doc, and it's practically endearing how he and Vince interact. Vince pretending his idea for Taker on the RAW after Mania was a feud with Giant Gonzalez's son was an unexpected LOL moment. Also it's pretty astounding how snakebit how many of his recent matches have been seeing it back to back like this. First he got concussed, then Hunter got hurt at the first Saudi show, then Goldberg got concussed in the next. Not that any of those matches would have been five star classics, but for a guy knowing his in ring days were running out it must have been beyond frustrating to deal with.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
The editing has been pretty seamless too, only thing that's really jumped out was Randy's eyebrow cut suddenly disappearing.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
I will say had they done this kind of match first then did whatever that Mania match was as a follow up, that match probably would have been way better recieved.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
I mean, it's not offensively terrible like the the Street Profits/Viking Raiders match was, but the production is just distracting enough to take away from what so far has been a very good match and didn't need any of this bullshit.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Yeah this whole thing is like some weird attempt to transfer heat and make the company the heel for how this is presented so people don't get mad at the wrestlers.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
The piped in crowd noise making dozens of people sound like WM 3, Lil' Naitch dressed like the generic ref from an 80s WWF game, using the Fink's voice when they couldn't be bothered to put him on TV for DECADES because he committed the cardinal sin of not being young and/or female, this is WWE basically making fun of anyone who took what they were selling seriously. Sucks even more that it's so far been a really good match that I can't help feel the company is mocking you for liking it.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
They've never been able to do fake crowd noise in a natural way, it was always SUPER obvious on 80s TV, and was one of the things WCW always seemed to be better at in the 90s.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Pretty much confirms this was just all one big piss-take over people not liking the Mania match.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Like literally one show in to the Brucie Era and we have Tozawa and his Ninja Army

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
I wouldn't go *that* far, but he's been running with the ball given to him very well.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
I was about to ask if CS was now on the WWE creative team.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Lashley not even able to get a 2 count is some bullshit.
-
Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Everything on this show seems so much like a formality it's hard to get in to any of it.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Championship celebrations are quickly becoming my new most hated overused WWE trope.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Corey's in that phase Cole was for a long time where he's not quite been able to master having to recite what's being fed to him without sounding like an obnoxious asshole.
-
Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Also this is all a colossal waste of John Morrison just because Vince can't see him as anything other than the tag guy who left nearly a decade ago instead of the guy who was at or near the top in Impact/LU/AAA.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
If it's going to be a 2 on 1 handicap style match, giving it 3 way match rules where whoever gets the pin is champ is stupid. Yes, the idea of co-champs is also stupid but at least they have precedent with LayCool where they've actually had co champs before.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Yeah that was a Bryan-like performance from Asuka getting something watchable there, too bad the finish was such a cop out.
-
Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Trying to convince people that Miz/Morrison have a chance to win this match is one of the more implausible things WWE has ever attempted. Like I would have given any random jobber in the 80s a slip-on-a-banana-peel win before I would expect them to win here.

Backlash 2020 - The one with the GREATEST MATCH EVER
Yeah everyone is acting like this whole show was taped in advance when it was only Edge/Orton.
