  1. I'm sure people still have to sell Vince on women in the company the same way today. I'd be willing to bet that's why he doesn't see Shayna as a star or why he missed out on Bayley so bad. If Vince doesn't want to fuck you, you can't be a star. The only way women who don't confirm to Vince's ideal can be stars is if they are big monsters.
  2. There is a YouTube video of her doing an interview about being on the show and you can clearly see three large scars across her left wrist. Not going to even try to play hindsight psychologist but it seems clear she had some difficulties and was probably the last person who should have been on a reality TV show, even one seemingly laid back, as at their core they all feed off drama both real and created.
  3. Yeah, it was done with typical WWE weirdness like having them all basically dress the same, but it was much better than the crowdless shows.
  4. Storyline wise it made sense since Nia just laid out Kairi last week, even if it won't be a five star classic.
  5. Love seeing silent NXT psycho Dexter Lumis cheering and clapping in the front row of RAW.
  6. Lana was nearly as dark as MVP in their segment together, clearly their makeup team is not going to be winning any Emmys anytime soon.
  7. Most of them seem to be folks that have probably been tested since they were on NXT TV and/or holed up in Orlando the last few months anyway.
  8. As stated, the Blue Lives Matter thing started as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement that came about as the result of several instances of police shooting black people first and asking questions later and normally facing no repercussions for it. Sporting Blue Lives Matter gear generally gives the impression you're okay with black people being shot by police for little or no reason and/or you are willingly keeping yourself naive about what it means. If you browse the Nine Line site all of Taker's gear comes from, it pretends to just be a good ol' American Pride type company that just wants to honor THA TROOPS. Actually looking at their offerings shows that they're almost entirely all extremely right wing, and a large portion seem to be devoted to pro-police and anti Colin Capernick (all the I STAND FOR THE ANTHEM ones) which leaves an impression anyone wearing said shirts feels a certain way about black folks. I think part of the response from fans is because while it shouldn't be jarring that a 50 something from Texas has such views, seeing Taker go from keeping kayfabe at all costs to basically becoming MAGA The Wrestler was quite the flipped switch.
  9. WWE has benefited from being the only game in town for a generation, so people growing up wanting to be a wrestler only had WWE has a goal since it was all they knew. An underrated aspect of AEW existing is now young talent have a choice between going to WWE and have their best bet be spending their prime earning years in NXT before getting jobbed out on the main roster, or going to another major promotion on national TV that has shown they'll put young folks in key positions if they show they can bring the goods. There's always going to be people who's goal in life is WWE or Bust, but at some point it's going to become clear that a couple years of WWE money might not be worth potentially becoming a star elsewhere and getting bigger money.
  10. If the translation is correct, her and Io saw the tweets and immediately called everyone they knew to get to her ASAP. I can't imagine the feeling your friend is in danger on the other side of the world and there's nothing you can do directly. Also kudos to AEW not only having a graphic, but taking the time on their PPV to say a little something about treating people better on the internet too. Excalibur sounded like he was fighting back the urge to start cussing out the idiots responsible too. I can only hope that this leads to some kind of repercussions for the folks responsible. The main reason people act like assholes online is because 99% there's no risk of any punishment for doing so.

Wrestling needed something fun like that after a really shitty week.

    All of this is amazing.

This show is reminding me of how Takeovers were in NXT's boom period where even if they didn't have the most exciting build, the matches would all knock it out of the park.

So it looks like the building on the side plates of the TNT belt is the old Techwood Drive studio, so that was a great call.

Shida is great, good to see her get the belt.

My first thought when I saw the belt.
  17. Things like this really show how many people lack basic empathy and human decency. There's tons of people I disagree with, some vehemently, but I would never even think to tell anyone to "go kill yourself" which seems to be a not uncommon thing on social media now. Like....what the FUCK is wrong with some people?
  18. Earlier today she posted what appeared to be a suicide note and pics of horribly gashed arms on Twitter, the posts got pulled and people immediately tried to reach out to her. There were friends who posted they had talked to her and she was doing as good as could be expected, but Stardom tweeted out that she passed away today at age 22. She was on a reality show in Japan, and apparently there was some things that went on there that caused fans of the show to attack her and bombard her with horrible hate filled messages on social media.
  19. She wins all three and it brings Nikki Bella out of retirement to determine the true owner of Misawa's legacy.
  20. Guess it's true that Vince doesn't see Shayna as main event material. Perhaps Charlotte can win all three belts and create a women's triple crown title.
  21. She's reportedly not afraid to flex her political muscles, so she probably has the ability to suggest things should be done differently.
  22. Alright, everyone calm down and go back to their respective corners, lol. I think the quarantine is starting to get to us here.
  23. I was always hoping they'd lean into it more and say/imply Auska was the heir to the Great Kabuki legacy when she started using the mist.
  24. Other than the name, I don't really see what's inherently racist about the Kabuki Warriors gimmick, and even the name I would consider more lazy than anything.
  25. I agree with everything but I must point out they are failing hard at the last part. Everyone she's programmed with comes out looking lesser at the end. At his point she's basically Hunter with better matches and without the racial overtones. "Overexposed" is probably the better term than "overpushed", I'd say that much.
