Poor Pharoh wants nothing to do with this.

I was just about to say Riho could be a female Rey Mysterio type for them then she goes and attempts a 619, lol.
  3. sek69 replied to goodhelmet's topic in AEW
Riho will certainly get over with a......certain.....type of fans for sure.

I'll admit I don't "get" Orange Cassidy, but that tope with the hands in the pockets was cool.

Did we ever get any kind of bracket for the tag team tournament?

So weird for a down-home family restaurant to be sponsoring a match like this.

It's also the first weekend of college football, so there's more options tonight too.

Time for Jim Cornette's favorite wrestler, Joey Janela!

There used to be a rule in wrestling that someone put in as a replacement usually went over (unless it was a special circumstance like a title match).

Great little match, loved the story that Kenny was looking past PAC and literally got caught sleeping.

This. I think it's them being too mindful of WWE having to rename/repackage everyone without realizing sometimes it's beneficial.

Private Party vs Angelico/Evans could be the flippiest of flippy matches ever.

It played into the angle with Britt and Bea at least.

Hell yea, looking like she's been serving Wakanda.

Everytime I hear "Big Swole" I think of the dude from the No Limit Soldiers run in WCW.

To people like us, perhaps. To the greater audience they are trying to nab for TNT, Jericho is a guy who could make lapsed fans stop and watch as opposed to Page getting a "who is that guy?" reaction.

The Adrian Street documentary was short but pretty interesting. Funny to hear Terry Taylor act like him losing the Mid South TV title was a shoot.

Watching on delay so I just finished the Women's title match. Fun brawl, was surprised they did a title change. Sounded like the crowd was too, with the "one! two!.....uh what?" reaction the finish got.

I love that Dave Mastiff looks like Otis and Braun Strowman had a weird baby.

AEW's in that place NXT is in with Takeovers where all their shows should be at least decent, with the possibility of being great if something catches fire.

Wasn't part of them getting the TNT deal based on having an established star like Jericho as champ at the start? Having a heel champ to build a new babyface star wouldn't be the worst way to kick off a new TV show.
  22. They were struggling to sell tickets period, had to move the show from MSG to the theater next door (which honestly they should have aimed for in the first place). They were hoping to get AEW guys involved, but AEW isn't going to let their guys work for other promotions inside the US.
  23. It's always been a little fishy to me, especially considering Lawler's been at times the most low-key and high-key scummy guy in wrestling (but hey, he throws a great punch so *handwave*). Even before everything happened with Brian, his response to those who got swindled was all "I promise to get to the bottom of this and everyone will get what they were owed" then there was zero followup. Then he went on local Memphis TV where he's still treated like a god to make sure he garners maximum sympathy and all the heat was on Moore. My personal theory is that they both thought they had a nice side hustle selling Lawler memorabilia, and Moore either got greedy or some shit happened in his personal life and he started promising more than he knew he could deliver.
  24. AAA announced today that Impact will be helping them promote their New York show, and said Impact talent will be appearing on the show.

Excited to watch the Adrian Street documentary after the NXT UK show. I hope it means we'll get his theme music restored to the network.
