Dark Side of the Ring
I do remember Dave saying something along the lines of the doc revealing who originally came up with the idea, hinting it would be someone unexpected. Did that make the final cut at all?

WWE TV 04/15 - 04/21: Superstar Shakeup but the real Shakeup is a country who arrests and beats up its teachers
Not to mention there was a noticeable buzz when Braun and Luke had a brief face off in the WM battle royal. That should have been a sign to the company that folks still see something in Harper.

It must be quite a shock for Vince to see guys going from being afraid of losing their jobs to the point everyone but the main eventers were on eggshells, to guys asking for their releases hand over fist. It's almost as if signing guys just to hoard them wasn't the best idea long term.

Luke Harper just posted he requested his release today.

Everyone's saying "who cares it's just a name", but a name can absolutely make or break someone in WWE. Rowe and Hanson were established names that were over, Ivar and Erik sound like geeks waiting to get beat by the Hart Foundation on an episode of Wrestling Challenge in 1988.

Dark Side of the Ring
Apparently the Montreal episode leans heavily on already disproven talking points (like Bret was going to take the WWF belt to Nitro so Vince had to do what he did), so I'm sure Dave's already anticipating more idiots coming after him claiming this show proves him wrong some how. He's more or less insinuated he feels the whole subject is done to death, but when something like this comes up he has to talk about it again.

I would suspect they do another shuffling before Fox time for sure.

Yes, AJ did everything he could on SD and was probably the one person most in need of a change in scenery.

I love that Becky was the one to get the word "'belt" back on WWE TV.

I wonder if the payoff to this buzzard puppet will end up being that Bray's last gimmick drove him crazy.

Lars has that Andre thing going where it looks like he has a thousand teeth.

The Viking Experience sounds like something you'd need to pay extra for to get from a "professional' if you know what I mean.

It's replacing far better names with "kinda regular" ones, it's the worst choice you can make when you downgrade something for no reason.

Vince thinks it sounds cool, I'd guarantee it.

Apparently a lot of folks are having travel issues getting to Montreal, might make things interesting.

Dave made a point of saying that wasn't true, Liz got hired by Zane Bresloff.

Ring of Honor Wrestling
Historically strong? No, but it's made strong improvements from the 2000s death era. The thing about Japanese wrestling is that the only TV shows now are on late hours, so them able to grow as much as they have is quite an impressive feat.

Ring of Honor Wrestling
Part of the issue is a lot of the creative types in wrestling don't want to work for a company owned by a right wing propaganda machine. Like, as obnoxious Vince can be at least he's not writing must-read op eds for local newscasts. I realize this might skirt the Pro Wrestling Only line, but as we've seen with David Starr it's an issue ROH has to deal with and so far they haven't dealt with it very well.

Post-Mania TV 2019
It would seem that if nothing else Sasha is rubbing a lot of folks the wrong way. I'm getting the impression she's probably getting the "mark for herself" rep like Bret had because they both gave a shit about giving the best performance and would get vocal if shit didn't make sense.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Yet if the rumored Turner deal comes to fruition, they would instantly be the #2 promotion in the US just based on that. Granted everything could end up worse than the most awful Russo TNA/2000 WCW mashup possible, but AEW is more or less getting handed the greatest opportunity any non WWE company has had since Billionare Ted decided he wanted to put a rasslin show on Monday nights.

Post-Mania TV 2019
He did point out no footage came out of Brock throwing the belt at Vince until the WWE 24 doc a year later.
-
Dark Side of the Ring
Hogan was on Twitter being passive aggressive about how in his opinion the doc was just okay and relied too much on one person's version (he was clearly mad Linda was so much of the focus), only to have the official account for the series to reply mentioning they asked him to contribute and he said no. It was quite the self-owning.
