I thought Satin was taking the piss as our UK friends might say, but he followed up that tweet with one saying he heard the same story from four different sources. So.....yeah.
  2. Madison Rayne suggested bringing in the Beautiful People when ROH asked her for ideas, she left to go back to Impact, so they brought them in anyway.

Seth had dong pics leaked by his nazi ex girlfriend.

But when the guy who doesn't give a damn has final say, it kind of doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. I thought she was still with that MMA guy, but good for them. At least she knows exactly what she was getting thanks to social media.

Been a bad week for big folks' knees in WWE.

To be fair, I kind of dig the IIconics as the chickenshit heel tag team that kinda doesn't deserve the title but somehow keeps falling into victories to keep it.

It's almost as if Gail Kim was spot on when she called out the company for being a toxic cesspool and got dogpiled by WWE zealots on Twitter
  8. Yeah, guys like Lashley and EC3 were actually better in TNA/Impact regardless if people who never saw them there want to accept it or not. Them failing in WWE is more on the company than the person.

Sasha always seemed to be her own worst enemy. Being driven is never a bad thing but she always seemed bent on trying things just slightly above her ability level which led to her getting hurt frequently. Vince has a history of souring on folks he feels are injury prone and I wouldn't be surprised if that happened here. Also I still get the impression Vince is only doing as much as he is with the women because the fans and the roster made a fuss about it and it's not something his heart is really into. That causes a situation where the women in the ring are way more invested than the boss, and that can only end in frustration for the talent.
  10. Road Dogg certainly knew what he was getting into, but there's no way Pat McAfee would have any prior knowledge since his prior gigs were NFL punter and Bad Take Sports Talk Guy.

I've long suspected HHH is planning his own IRL "Scar throws Mufasa off the cliff" moment once he feels he's got enough people on his side.

YES! That whole story got a pop from me too. (condensed version for non WON readers: Pat McAfee was told no jorts to the HOF, he wore that suit-with-dress-shorts ensemble, he got told off by Cole. McAfee then stormed to his dressing room set on leaving telling people "Michael Cole can go fuck himself for yelling at me in front of everyone" and the whole situation was smoothed over by him showing Vince a picture of Lebron James wearing a similar outfit and Vince was convinced it was "hip", and Cole had to apologize)

Hunter's basically OVW era Jim Cornette trying to book his territory logically only to have Vince just drop a deuce all over it.

JR's not even waiting for the first paycheck to clear before shitting on his new job.
  15. I would say Roman is probably at that level, but he strikes me as a "I'm happy to be here, this company's employed my family for a long time and I don't want to rock the boat" guy. Austin's really the last top guy I remember who flat out told Vince he wasn't going to go with his stupid ideas (like when they wanted Austin to do a job to Coach).
  16. The only major thing I thought was missing from the Brody episode was how they didn't mention that anyone who's tried to investgate/ask questions to anyone in PR was basically threatened "drop it or else" over the years. It ended up underestimating how much pull the promotion had in their heyday.

Big E has a torn meniscus, proving we just can't have nice things.
  18. Another point to consider, without Hunter's match (assuming everything else goes about the same length) the show ends at about midnight and there's no post-show transit issues snarling everyone's attempt to get home.
  19. Scott Hall was surprisingly great in this, I loved his line about how he'd do Randy if he was a chick.
  20. April's classic content dump is set to be Mid South from 84-85.
  21. Thinking back, if everything else was exactly the same, the show would have been so much better without the HHH-Dave match. You guys know how much I like me some BIG DAVE, but that was the most Hunter-est Hunter match in years. It's almost a work of art how it brings the show to a screeching halt.

JR basically outed they were starting a live 2 hour show on a "major network" in October, and TBS was rumored to be one of the two stations interested (returning to TBS would also fit the underlying them of Cody trying to reclaim as much of his father's legacy as possible with AEW) so it all fits. Also the first major competition in nearly 20 years airing on a Turner station might be enough to give Vince a coronary, so there's that too.

Basically wins and losses didn't matter with the Rock because he's the goddamn Rock and had more charisma than anyone in the history of the business and could overcome any loss. WWE took that to mean they can beat anyone and they can stay a top star because reasons. Just like the lesson they learned from Daniel Bryan was they feel the way to book a babyface is to make them lose constantly.

Yeah, Kenny's one of the few guys who clearly puts effort into his match layouts. They may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to say it's not there is the kind of blind troll stuff that Meltzer has to deal with on the regular. Like I wasn't the biggest fan of Hipster Dad Jericho in his NJPW run, but the guy clearly put a lot of effort into the psychology and character he was trying to build. Everything flowed together and made logical sense, so in the end it was pretty good stuff. It's just amazing to me how the narrative has changed from "the company is at fault for putting on a boring, uninspired product" to "fans are assholes for not just accepting what they are being given without question". I guess it's the result of it being almost an entire generation (oh god, I'm old) since we've had any meaningful competition, and no one is around to challenge the programming WWE is doing to their audience.

Roman wasn't getting boos though, all the reports I heard during Mania were the booing came from people trying to do the wave during the match.
