Ironically she sounded a lot like Roddy Piper doing one of his famous.....uh....enhanced promos from the 80s.

The honest truth is they want a woman in every HOF class (standalone so Chyna in DX wouldn't count in this case) and Vince probably was reminded Torrie exists by her coming back for all the women first stuff. Hunter's promo was really good. Could have gone without the reference to Reid's death, but the part where he got (probably legit) choked up over being afraid to answer his phone when Ric was deathly ill last year was compelling stuff. To be fair, Ronda's promo was really good too but she looked like she pounded 15 Red Bulls prior to going out there.

Mainly just building up Demon and Wagner's stuff. They're doing a really good job but Demon has the same problem Santo has where the mask is so iconic you can't fathom any circumstance where he would lose it. The only thing that leaves any doubt is if the Demon family has another spat with him since he's apparently not actually related to Demon Sr.

I've gone back to watching Mid Atlantic and I'm at the post Starrcade 83 episodes, and I can't help but laugh at how hard they tried to make Kelly Kiniski a thing. Bob Caudle set him up to do a promo about whatever was going on in the territory and Kelly just goes off on how he's worked on his wrestling style and gets quasi-heelish toward Americans while babyfacing himself to Canadians like a weird, less charasmatic proto Bret Hart.

On Instagram I believe, she also posted this pic on Twitter calling herself the Volaqueen (spoiler'd for hugeness) edited to include her description: "I’ll work on my Twitter game after Mania. For now, Lucha Libre training in Mexico City with my “top secret” trainer #volaqqueen"

Listening to Dave from the other day, this Twitter stuff apparently is going on as intended. Ronda and Becky are doing this sort of on their own (Vince didn't come up with it but he's not stopping it either) and think this is a way to get the more hardcore fans worked up. He sees them getting mad as proof it's working, which I guess so. But it's also making one of your top stars you paid big money to get look like an unhinged loon. It's just leaving me gobsmacked that Ronda is coming up with all this and thinking "Yes. This is something I want out there as a reflection of me". That's before even addressing that this is some 2000 WCW "work the smarts" horseshit.
