So apparently Edge (I'll call him by his real name eventually but it still feels weird not to call him Edge) dropping the "vanilla midget" line was unplanned so Ricky's line was too. If I had to guess, I'd wager that Ricky wasn't even thinking about it that way and just wanted to get in a "lol I said edge" shot and accidently triggering Ed.. *ahem* Adam.

Good lord, GUNTA is on another level. Am I crazy for thinking there could be big money in doing a Hogan/Warrior deal with him and Roman? The two unstoppable forces colliding would be incredible.

Rhea/Shayna/Nia/Raquel/Zoey beating the shit out of each other sounds like a pretty fun time Also yes Nia sucks but the build to her and Rhea having a big kaiju fight has been pretty good

Its so weird that they keep pushing Nattie as the mom of the women's locker room (I know she pretty much is that IRL) yet on TV she's never been anything more than a low/mid carder.

Edge got heated at Ricky's "Over the Edge" comment which (unintentially I'm sure) was the name of the PPV where Owen died.

As a devoted Steelers fan it pains me to say the Browns are pretty good, even if they did mortgage their future to a QB who's trying to beat Vince's sex charges record.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
The Houston shows were Paul Boesch shows that used most of the same talent. They weren't technically Mid South shows but sometimes they were used for angle advancement, sometimes they were just used to show Mid South guys in a bigger environment.

Seeing a whole ass package about CMLL on US TV is blowing my mind. It can't be understated how against the norm it is for CMLL to be such an active partner with a foreign company. Yes they work with NJPW, they send guys to work Fantastica Mania shows because the Japanese fans love seeing lucha style and it makes them money, but they never really make a big deal about it. They announced their partnership with AEW on their Twitter account and let them use footage on their TV. For a company that was very much in the Vince mindset of "we'll work with other promotions but we won't ever do much to promote them" this is groundbreaking.

You're not wrong, but if there ever was a wrestling rookie who *would* do that it'd be Ole.

I would suppose being treated like shit for daring to believe you're a star despite being the biggest draw in Mexico would make you not put in your best effort.

Remember when everyone in WWE shit on Mistico because he had the temerity to act like a star? Pepperidge Farms remembers....

Watching SD now, and seeing Heyman come out with dark hair again made me think he's the Shang Tsung of WWE

So this is something.... Not only for obvious "holy shit Mistico in AEW" reasons, but also for a CMLL guy appearing in a promotion that regularly features AAA talent. Rocky must be the sweet-talkingest mf on the planet to keep getting these promotions to work together.

I'm all for dunking on millionaires/billionaires, but 99.999% of the time they've done something to warrant it. What has Tony done, short of not being the greatest booker of women's wrestling *? Try too hard to be the anti-Vince he ended up letting his guys run the roost because he didn't want to be seen as a hard-ass? If it comes out TK and his dad are avowed anti-semites, then fuck them to outer space. I'm not going to bash someone just based on assuming things based on their ethnic/religious background. *Wasn't Kenny booking the women's division back when AEW started? Has that changed or does no one want to say there's something Mr. Seven Stars isn't good at?

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I'm wondering if CM Punk, he of the pro trans rights and reproductive rights t shirts, would be petty enough at AEW to sign with the company who does annual blood money shows. Also I'm sure WWE did the math after seeing the last couple years-long trainwreck, and decided whatever money they would make with him wasn't worth all the additional headache and bullshit that goes along with it.

You're used to people telling you to knock it off making wild unfounded accusations? That must mean that happens a lot. I get that tensions are high right now, and if nothing else AEW should get heat for going forward with this angle in light of world events. It comes off as being entirely in the wrestling bubble and unaware of what's happening around you.

I love how the announcers were trying to frame it as a callback to his promo from a while back about being bullied at school, which would be fine if it wasn't also explicitly established in that same promo WHY he was being bullied. That's kind of gross to even imply that, there's literally nothing to suggest that either Khan has ever done anything to suggest they have any negative feelings about Jews just because they are Muslims. Tony in particular strikes me as the type who doesn't even think about those kind of things because he spends all his time playing IRL Football Manager and TNM. Plus even if Shad would happen to feel that way, there's really nothing to suggest he has any role with the company other than being the slightly bemused dad happy that his son's rasslin passion ended up being a nice little moneymaking side hustle.

NXT was a pretty fun show in ring, but I've never been a fan of how WWE on one hand wants NXT to be seen as on the same level as Raw/Smackdown, but they also send folks down there to run over the NXT crew.

Once again it's apparent that folks either forget (or were never around to see) what it's like when there's two major national promotions on somewhat equal footing. The normal way it goes is while sometimes there's some overlap, normally one swings up and the other swings down. WWE won't be on fire forever, and interest will dip at some point. AEW will have someone or something catch fire (there's too many talented people there for it not to happen at some point) and interest will rise. The cycle will likely continue forever until either the sun dies or TV networks stop offering billion dollar deals, whichever comes first.

Looked like Cody landed on his own head on the finish and got hurt for a minute, but by the end he seemed fine. This match is going to have so much meat slapping it's going to be fined by the FCC
