RIP Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart
They put a nice collection up on the Network for Anvil, pretty good stuff.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Who's going to fire Dave? One of the MMA sites he freelances for? I doubt they are in any rush to white knight someone in defense of women when, well *gestures at MMA fandom*

Dave Meltzer stuff
I'm wondering if she had the same outrage when she had her WWE mandated boob job, is all. IMO that's worse than anything Dave said because they expect their women to undergo body modifying surgery to advance. I'm sure no one in the company has ever directly said it, but it's clearly the women's equivalent of encouraging the guys to get on the gas.

Women's wrestling twitter is probably the most scariest place on the internet.

Dave Meltzer stuff
It is such a pro wrestling thing that Dave trying to diplomatically mention her company mandatded boob job (in the most Dave way possible) got turned into wrestlers claiming he wants all women to get an eating disorder and starve. I mean, it's not like WWE has ever given anyone not in their wheelhouse of beauty a gimmick of being called fat and dumpy .....*puts finger to earpiece*....oh, I see....

Dave Meltzer stuff
Like, I know being an Internet Armchair Doctor is bad, but there does seem to be a LOT of evidence that indicates Dave doesn't seem to have much ability to understand how his comments are going to be interpreted by others. This is the number one thing the trolls jump on, and he just keeps doing it over and over. At some point you have to assume he either is on the spectrum and doesn't realize it or he just doesn't give a shit. For some reason mentioning the possiblity seems to trigger (in the non alt-right sense) a lot of people, like it would somehow be a bad thing if Dave was somehow neuroatypical. I have family that are on the spectrum, and honestly there's a lot of similarities. Being obsessive with numbers, having to correct people, not being aware of social cues and awkward conversation....it's not a stretch. I know discussions like this can go sideways, but it seems like just the very mention of the possibity seems to upset people rather than the discussion can.

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
You're not wrong, but most of the reason things would disappear/not be a big deal is *because* no one found out about most (if not all) of it. I'm a proponent of the idea that the internet was both mankind's best and worst idea, but if as a result scumbags can no longer get away with scumbaggy behavior, nary a tear would be shed.

WWE TV 08/13 - 08/19 SUMMERSLAM IS COMING
Speaking of hair, nice of Ambrose to get an Anvil buzz in memorial.

WWE TV 08/13 - 08/19 SUMMERSLAM IS COMING
Dolph out there having a therapy session for your main event promo.

WWE TV 08/13 - 08/19 SUMMERSLAM IS COMING
I wonder if they were going to do an angle with Ronda, since the original plan was to do Nattie vs Alexa non title with Ronda and Alicia in the corners. I guess they can just have her ragdoll Alicia again, but they're probably going to have Brock kill everyone tonight as well.

Looks like the word is he had a grand mal seizure that was the cause of death.

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
Waving your dick to co workers is pretty on brand for someone who's Twitter likes trend that way though.

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
There's also the matter that besides waving his dick at people, threatening to tell Vince and Steph that the writer was "big leaguing" is a clear way to establish power right out of the box. He's telling them he can do whatever he wants and you can't do shit about it. I wonder how he learned he had that ability. Also the "he was young and dumb" defense should be applied to actual dumb things young people do like deciding to go off roading in their parents' car or listening to Korn. Not sexually harrassing co workers as part of a display of dominance.

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
Is there a statute of limitations on waving your dong at co-workers? If WWE wants to be Corporate Pro Wrestling they are going to have to deal with shit like this. Plus I have a hard time believing a guy who's had a lifetime of consquence free misadventures is suddenly a chill dude because he got married. I mean, I'm sure he's grown past baby oiling people's bags, but that likely just means he moved on to ther methods.

Then you would think that means NXT isn't doing a very good job at development if the people they train aren't prepared for what being on the main roster entails.

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
Has anything of consequence ever happen to him ever? Dude's whole life has been one thing after another that would have hindered or ended the careers of most people. I've never figured out why either. It's not like Randy's an Austin or Hogan level draw, does Cowboy Bob have dirt on Vince or something?

WWE looking in to Randy Orton allegations
Wasn't he alleged to have shit in someone's bag, or was that some sleaze thread bullshit? Also it's telling that when I read the story I both felt it was unbelievable that anyone would act like that, yet at the same time the exact kind of thing I would expect Randy Orton to do.

For as much shit as I give Roman, I've never watched one of his matches afraid that he was going to kill himself every time. Can't say that for Sasha.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I mean, you might not like how he words it but Dave isn't wrong. Just because we've come a long way from pudding fights and bra & panty matches doesn't mean the current main roster women's matches are great. Some of if for sure is booking, but there's no doubt if any of the men had a match like 75% of what the women do it would get buried 100 feet below the ground. They do give pushes to Alexa and Carmella for obvious Vince related reasons, Nia gets a push part because of her family and part as a token PR move so they can say "see, we push big girls too!" Women who can actually wrestle are an afterthought far behind who the company feels is attractive, and there's a pretty narrow focus on how they define that. As was mentioned in another thread, Charlotte might as well be renamed Ramona Reigns at this point for how hard she's pushed as the star of the women on Smackdown despite others arguably more deserving of the spot at this point. Women's matches absolutely get graded on a curve, and to an extent that's fair seeing as how embarrassingly bad women's wrestling was in WWE for so long it wouldn't be right to expect it to turn on a dime. There comes a time, and again it can be argued we're at that time, where if you really want equality you have to be honest about what you're seeing. Again, a lot of this falls on the company too. Clearly no one on the main roster spends the time with the women that they do in NXT. Other than the completely green newbies, you seldom see a terrible women's match there. On the main roster, there's often clunkiness apparent in every match. Even more so if it's opponents that never had matches together in NXT. One of the reasons the Women's Rumble stood out is they pulled everyone off the road practiced, so that everyone had a chance to get familiar. Obviously they can't do that for every show, but there must be a midpoint between nonstop practice and just throwing them out on Raw to flail. Other companies don't seem to have an issue with this. I don't watch joshi, but the Impact women have consistently better matches and it's not like you can say their roster is better than WWE's. Even the ROH women seem to have more effort put into their matches than most in WWE. Everyone went over the moon praising Fit Finlay when he helped the women improve back in the day, there's no reason they can't have someone in a similar role now.

MLW Fusion, anyone watching it?
Finally watching last week's show, it's kind of eerie how much Brian Pillman Jr. looks like his father. Also I figured since Kevin Sullivan was around for the battle royal, they couldn't resist doing a segment together. Sullivan's awkward promo putting him over was worth it for Jr's reply of "My father respected you, and so do I....bookerman!"

NWA On Demand-Data Base
It doesn't even seem clear what their plan is for the brand, other than running personality profiles on YouTube and getting Nick Aldis a match for All In. In a world where seemingly every non WWE promotion is the world is at least attempting to work together, the NWA seems off on its own island.

WWE TV 08/06 - 08/12 RIP InfoWars (but not really)
KO gets Braun to slip on a banana peel, gets the briefcase. Roman wins after a brutally fought match after which KO tries and fails to cash in because all must bow before Reigns. Then they spend all fall feuding and WWE continues to wonder why he keeps getting Mixed Reactions (TM John Cena).

WWE TV 08/06 - 08/12 RIP InfoWars (but not really)
This kind of encapsulates my every issue with WWE: This whole promo was awesome and obviously not ham fistedly scripted like every other promo you see. It foreshadows a few potential awesome plot twists (Will Paul bring in someone to screw Brock? Will he join up with Roman?) I'll stupidly get myself excited for something cool to happen only to be let down when WWE invariably gives us another attempt at Cena-izing Roman. (and if I'm being honest, I'll probably let it negatively color my perception of what will most likley be a solid Roman match)

WWE TV 08/06 - 08/12 RIP InfoWars (but not really)
So much this. I don't get why anyone would crap on her when it's her gimmick to be the unworthy champion who keeps backing in to wins and then talking shit after.
