  1. I think Jarrett's another victim of Vince Russo really. He had a solid career going back to the Memphis days, and there was never a backlash against him until the end of WCW when Russo kept pushing him too hard. Even his time in TNA was probably the best of that promotion, he wasn't involved for most of the real LOLTNA stuff. Also I'm not sure I'd believe Bruce Pritchard's word since his gimmick these days seems to be "lovable bullshitter" no matter how much he plays the I-was-there card. Wasn't at least part of the reason him and his dad started TNA that he was persona-non-grata to WWE?
  2. He did basically fire Jarrett on live TV. I always got the impression he was mad at Jeff for standing up to him when he only accepted that kind of behavior from the very top level guys.
  3. Randy Orton seems to think mass shootings in schools happen because God isn't allowed in. Yeah, Also it should be interesting if the rumors are true and Kid Rock goes in to the celebrity wing of the WWE HOF this year. They've taken such steps to avoid any mention of politics in the Trump era yet they may be enshrining a guy considering a run for office.
  4. Chris Regal was the owner of TNA fan site TNAMecca that was known for insane rules where everything was built as a cult where you would get banned for questioning Regal's authority. At some point last year he "died" after a sudden illness then his "brother" that no one knew existed started posting. Everyone (save a few really dense Mecca posters) knew he was faking and I guess this Abbey business prompted him to fess up.
  5. To be fair, hashtag resistance does make more sense when the person in charge tweets more than a 13 year old girl.
  6. Kids these days don't know how to space out their scams, Chris Regal was just last year.

Both WWE and New Japan balked on Riddle due to his past drug test failures and his pro-pot stance.
  8. So what's going on with that Abbey person on Twitter apparently trying to scam people by saying she has cancer?
  9. Plus was it make clear that he just got his intial investment back or that plus whatever it cost to run while he was funding however many tapings he did while Dixie was stringing him along.
  10. The WWE women's roster so far is doing a better job at callouts than 75% of the UFC roster when asked who they want to fight next.
  11. TNA may be responsible for the original lineup of Smashing Pumpkins going on tour for the first time in ages. Billy pretty much implied his wrestling adventures hurt his bottom line.
  12. sek69 replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
To be fair, WWE uploaded a video to YouTube calling in a cello too.
  13. Wasn't it more or less implied that there was no way Lawler was going to be held responsible by anyone in the Memphis legal system? Isn't it possible, or hell even probable, that a judge just says "I got a letter saying the girls recanted" and magically made things go away without the mess of having to air the dirty laundry of the local hero? Odds were slim to none that anyone in 1994 would have pressed the issue, and I'd wager no one really wanted to pull back the curtain to see what other skeletons could be hiding, As far as my issue with the piece Bix, I guess my main point of contention would be it seems like it's a much better cautionary tale of why women are hesitant to report sexual assaults (especially against someone famous) rather than focusing on how Lawler tried to slut shame. Or maybe both points could be mentioned, I dunno, I'm not a writer. But if we learned anything from #MeToo and #TimesUp, it's that there's still a disturbingly large portion of folks who's kneejerk reaction to a woman coming forward is "she's a lying slut looking to collect sweet rape dollars because she didn't come forward sooner".
  14. How are they doing on content with WCCW TV? Im unsure how long World Class TV ran for or what years the Network has and if any years are complete. The WWE Network News site posted a list: Rumor is a lot of what's missing may be due the source material not being salvagable (I seem to recall Kevin Von Erich saying something like the tapes were kept in a shed in the Texas heat) and there might be some discrepancy on who actually owns the 1989 stuff since that's when it was merged into Memphis/USWA.
  15. She's been wearing those gloves since she turned evil in NXT though.
  16. You seem to be under the impression that everyone was thinking Lawler was innocent all these years and by finding documents that show that the guy everyone jokes about fucking teens was in fact, most likely, fucking teens, His comments about #MeToo were weird because he's a guy who made his WWF career on being a pervert making comments about a movement designed to call out sexual abusers. Like, I'm not sure how Glenn Moore expected that would go when he asked the question, It would be like asking Jeff Sessions about BLM. Nothing good is going to happen from that. It just didn't seem like something that needed to dig up court documents to prove.
  17. Maybe Powerbomb should should cut ties with IWA if their owner is a dick who goes out of his way to be edgy to piss off the paying audience. I mean, Ian being a dick is part of the appeal for some folks I suppose, but it's not exactly good business.
  18. ...and yet "Jerry Lawler is in to underage girls" has been an open secret/running gag for decades in wrestling. Like I don't think I've ever come across anyone who actually believes he's 100% innocent and your belief that somehow you're exposing a major scandal here are interesting to me. *edited to add* What would be interesting, in light of Lawler's views about racial and sexual relations, would be the rumors that he was involved in getting Jackie involved in the business back in the day when she was Miss Texas. I remember reading a non Apter wrestling mag that wasn't big on keeping kayfabe heavily implying that she was only in wrestling because she was fucking Jerry Lawler.

It seems like the huge reaction he got for cashing in his Money in the Bank case was about a millon years ago now.
  20. I thought the narrative was always that Lawler got away with creepy/pedo behavior because no one wanted to go after the local hero? There's really not much there that challenges that, rather it only makes the last 25 years of "Uncle Jerry" jokes from JR even more uncomfortable. I mean, I know Lawler's version was that it was just some sluts that wanted attention by claiming they slept with a famous wrestler, but it seemed like the consensus from people in and around the biz was he was a creep who got away with creep shit.
  21. So another WCCW ep appeared today to fill in more gaps. I'm wondering if the much-expected tiered system will include a "classic content" tier to go with the PPV tier everyone is assuming is coming.

I've said it before the last time they did a split, and I'll say it now: There's little chance guys like Elias or the Revival get much of a shot on TV in a non brand split world since you'll have the top guys filling most of both shows. Hell, there's probably no chance you'd have two different 3 woman groups debut if everyone's on the same roster. Plus what are they going to do about their touring groups? The Smackdown guys do their swings through Mondays so they're going to have to reshuffle their lineups there as well as changing TVs/PPVs. No reason for double the belts either if it's going to be the same guys on every show, this seems like a pretty significant business change.
  23. Flip Gordon went on a mini rant on Twitter about how the government is not to be trusted (all in reply to someone asking if he thought the Earth was flat), which was kind of an odd take from someone who's active in the National Guard.
  24. sek69 replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
It's almost like WWE is cashing in on the popularity of the GLOW series by remembering they used to have someone that worked for the original group. (yes, that was sarcasm) Also BRAUN with the bass is clearly the most important takeaway of this week's show.
  25. I've seen lots of complaints at how predictable his booking is. Not that anyone was pining for Russo swerves in New Japan, but for some reason it annoys some people that things are planned 6 months to a year in advance.
