  1. In the middle of listening to this now, and it's just crushing to hear how both Nancy and Chris were just devastated at the string of wrestler deaths that happened in the months leading up to their tragedy. Jericho relating the story of Chris bawling like a baby who doesn't want to be separated from his mother at Eddie's funeral was just gut wrenching. Both share tales of the guy they knew before things got all crazy, and Sandra talks about how winning the title at WM caused Chris to put more pressure on himself and made it harder for the family to be able to go out in public as easily as they could before. We'll never know the full story of course, but so far she's the closest thing we'll probably get to knowing what led to everything happening.
  2. Especially how WWE books women, even after the "Divas Revolution", where they still have the Vince Russo style where they're all bitches who hate each other.
  3. Enzo is tailor made for current WWE, with his ability to be entertaining with the usual crap writing he's given to work with, yet still you get the impression Vince still just sees him as the guy paired up with the tall guy he really wants to push.
  4. Dave's point is that all characters in entertainment have a shelf life, and people are losing their shit because this particular instance is a woman. I thought he made a good point that it's no different than a Ricky Morton type trying to still be a teenage heartthrob years past the expiration date of the gimmick. Yes, the Bayley gimmick has evolved from the early days where people were wondering if she was supposed to be doing some kind of Aspberger's gimmick with how socially awkward she was. Dave's point was she's more like the big sister little girls want to be like and you can't play that role forever either.
  5. Cena wasn't positioned as a childlike character like Bayley was. People trying to bag on Dave for sexism are really reaching here.

I'm not sure what's more frustrating at this point, WWE insisting Roman stay face when fans want to boo him or keeping the Wyatts heel when the crowd wants to cheer them. Putting the Wyatts vs the New Day seems like a mistake since it's two teams the fans like facing off, which usually kills the heat for both.
  7. Maybe it's a side effect of being "in the bubble", but it's amazing she'd think he'd ever be forgotten. If the only thing historians and old time wrestling nerds like us ever accomplish is keep footage of guys like Brody in circulation, I'd say that's a worthy endeavor.
  8. This is my all time "that didn't really happen, did it?" moment. Fundamentally I know it took place, but any time I watch it, it just seems like some kind of bizarre fever dream.

My biggest takeway of the PPV was that Roman has the chops to be a really great heel but WWE is too bent on him being the top public relations/Make a Wish guy to do it. Maybe the silver lining in the suspension is now they won't want him in that role now that the dreaded Google Search of DOOM will bring up a Wellness failure.

Considering how rarely top guys get popped, and how all the WWE partnered media outlets are reporting this, it sure seems like this is a pretty clear message being sent. Either he failed for something extremely dumb to get caught for, or he broke some silly WWE rule like not genuflecting to a backstage photo of the Undertaker or something.
  11. Rey and Morrison are under contract to LU, Drew is to TNA, and doesn't Shelton have some kind of Japan deal? I don't discount that WWE may want some of all of the names mentioned, but its funny how a lot of folks seem to think they can just grab anyone they want regardless of contract status.
  12. While I agree it does seem WWE was caught off guard by USA, on the other hand wtf did they expect to happen? USA was probably expecting to get a show somewhat equal to Raw, and WWE didn't even bother with the usual 2 month courtesy attempt of making SD relevant they usually do when the show moves.
  13. Also it's hard to have sympathy for a guy who got away with having sex with a 13 year old by intimidating a 14 year old witness, There's likely scores of others too who never even got to the judicial stage since he was the King of Memphis.
  14. Since both were taken to the hospital, I don't think there's any need for an italicized, bolded, IF there. As far as being upset about people here focusing on his commentary career, it's a pro wrestling board. It's the same as football fans wondering if a player's arrest is going to affect the team. Hell, this is PWO, I'm surprised there's no one wondering if this changes his position in the GWE standings.

So I'm watching the Authors of Pain on NXT and it's like the Road Warriors and Shield era Roman had a baby.
  16. I'm sure he can't talk about it, but I'm hearing HHH had a meeting with Mr. Tharpe about buying the Boesch library, I hope this doesn't mean all the gems that have been unearthed will end up collecting dust in the WWE vaults.
  17. If nothing else, SuperClash II is worth watching just for Ron Trongard's hair while he interviews Bockwinkel after the title match. Also interesting that Dave was mentioning on Twitter that the match wasn't supposed to be a title change, but Curt told Verne he got an offer from the WWF after the match so they un-Dusty'ed the finish to give him the belt.
  18. SuperClash II is now up in the AWA section.
  19. No they wouldn't, because they never advertise it so it will never get more plays. It's a classic self fulfilling prophecy. They throw a few episodes up out of sequence then when no one watches it they can just point to it as a reason why they don't add more. I'd guarantee the NWA Saturday shows get more views than any other classic content since there's about two and a half years you can watch straight through and follow storylines. Plus, WWE will always push anything related to the MNW since it's Vince's go-to mic drop to prove superiority.
  20. It's missing from the show, which is odd since it seems like the version on the Network is the live feed rather than a home video version.

To be fair, he's been underutilized since he was Shawn Spears in OVW. I don't think people believe he's being buried, the fans just seem to like the guy and for whatever reason the TEN gimmick struck a chord. No one is complaining that he jobs all the time, his role is to be the WWE Style Veteran for the noobs and new-to-the-system guys to get acclimated with. I guess maybe you could argue it was odd for them to give a gimmick like that to a guy they didn't plan on pushing, or for them to not do anything with the guy once he caught on, but drawing money isn't the point of NXT.
  22. God knows what they have mouldering away in their vault, and this is their focus. It's probably too much to hope that HHH got some tips on how present classic content in his meeting with Bruce this week. Well you have to remember WWE considers the Monday Night War as the most important thing in the history of wrestling, They certainly won't pass up the opportunity to upload WCW struggling to its death. Hell, I'm surprised it wasn't available entirely from day one.
  23. They were desperately trying to hide the fact that it was a shorter cage than the usual WWE one so their solution was to use the Andre shot the whole time.
  24. Yeah I think they pushed it out to all platforms, I watched the John Cena collection to see the UPW match they have up (with CW Anderson no less) and ended up watching all the OVW stuff as well.
  25. 1999 and 2000 Nitros being added, looks like its the next content dump. Should be required viewing for anyone who thinks today's three hour Raws are the worst shows ever.
