Yeah, that whole "women are human beings and it's not being a PC pansy to treat them like one" sure has caught on of late. Of course it shouldn't be surprising pro wrestling would be late to that party since it seems WWE is at least 20 years behind the curve on social issues.

Afa (or maybe Sika would make more sense story wise) as a Samoan Don Corleone would be tremendous.

Knowing the long history the company has for petty behavior, why would it be seen as jumping to conclusions to think anything else but the obvious when a woman that rubbed them the wrong way has a promo cut on her calling her a slut? if it was literally any other company in the world I could see giving them the benefit of the doubt, but history has shown if you assume the worst with anything involving WWE and women you're going to almost always be correct. Also bonus points for them airing a Be A Star video later in the show where the focus was boosting kids' self esteem.

Normally Rock would see a woman, make a sex joke or two, and that would be the end of it. This started like that and devolved into Rock going on and on about the time they had sex until the point it was like those Walking Dead memes of Coral and his dad. REMEMBER THAT TIME WE HAD SEX, LANA? (moves closer) WE HAD SEX, LANA.
  5. Not sure if this was posted before but there's a ton of Portland stuff here: https://www.youtube.com/user/LegitProWrestling/playlists There's also some newer Portland stuff on that channel too.

Seems like this issue is ripe for a topic, so lets recap: WWE splits up Lana and Rusev and pairs them off with someone neither has chemistry with. People immediately start the "lol WWE must be trying to split up a real couple" half-jokes that always come up when a real life couple is broken up on TV. Lana breaks her arm and is off TV for a while, during said absence TMZ (who is one of WWE's approved outlets to get first dibs on their stories they want to go mainstream) posts Lana and Rusev's engagement photos. I guess that could be explained by a news agency breaking a story, but TMZ is famous for sitting on stories that would hurt people/companies they work with. Word starts coming out that Lana has the dreaded "nuclear heat" for breaking kayfabe on social media since her and Rusev were still broken up on TV. Heat, it must be noted, with a company where both the top heels have "I play a bad guy on TV" on their Twitter profiles and routinely show up in PR videos putting smiles on faces betwixt segments where they play evil heels. WWE runs a ham-handed quickie angle where they try to retcon the last few months and say Rusev and Lana were secretly back together despite feuding on TV. No big deal, there's been worse plot holes in wrestling right? Lana disappears from TV almost immediately, and starts making cryptic (and not so cryptic) comments on Twitter about not allowing outside forces to destroy you or whatever. People start putting two and two together and assume WWE must be still trying to break them up. Rock shows up and does his usual spiel on Raw, and seems to go extra hard in the paint on Lana to the point she was looking uncomfortable the whole time. The jist of the segement is that Rusev is marrying a whore who's so whorish she even taught known frequent sex-haver the Rock a thing or two. Dave mentions he got reports from people in the company that "something else happened" to create another wave of heat towards Lana and stressed that the company isn't mad at Rusev at all. Rusev, it must be mentioned, has not faced the same wrath as Lana for all this despite seemingly breaking the same kayfabe laws she did. So based on everything, the easy inference is that WWE seems mad Lana's got the nerve to fight their petty ass attempts to break them up in real life and she has to take all the heat since the company has a whole has all the class and professionalism of a teenager getting jilted at the prom.

Still, putting Roman in the match to get a WM main event title shot after all the effort spent getting the belt off him makes no sense. Even if you go with "they just want Brock to beat him up" then you make it Brock vs Roman straight up. Making it a triple threat creates the option of Roman winning without having to pin Brock and makes the last three months seem redundant. Plus there's the whole "it won't get Roman over they way they want" thing too.

After listening to Dave comment on how the AJ/Jericho segment backstage was seemingly shot purposely to make AJ look even smaller, I have to wonder is Vince the last person in the business to care about height? I guess maybe Kevin Dunn does too, but it's hilarious to see them going to lengths to point out the obvious when no one cares.
  9. To me, it's very telling that they apparently were very aware the guy they so desperately want to be the next top babyface was going to be booed yet again. I'm sure it will get chalked up to those darn smart fans rather than booking.
  10. Me from 1996 would be shocked to learn there would be a Sunny porn and it would create morbid curiosity rather than anything arousing.

If they did, it must have been a throwaway deal on .com since they don't have the time to mention these things on their combined 5 hours of weekly TV.

Swagger and Henry are teaming up in the pre-show as part of a fatal fourway to qualify for the Rumble. It's either them, the Ascension, the Dudleys or the ever-popular team of Damian Sandow and Darren Young This is something that kind of irks me, why does WWE insist on breaking up tag teams? It seems they have a certain time frame where they'll just break up a team for no reason. It's not like teams have an expiration date. Why can't we have guys be career tag team guys if there's no plans to ever push them as singles?

The issue with Chyna's video is hers had porn parodies of Vince and Steph, and Hunter didn't want his kids seeing porno versions of mom and granddad. If Sunny did that with hers, then there's a discussion to be had. Otherwise, it's apples and oranges IMO.

Bryan's been cleared by pretty much every doctor at this point except the WWE one, and nothing seems to suggest that will change anytime soon.
  15. I just don't see the WWE with Empowered Female Executive Stephanie putting a pimp in their HOF with a woman who's most famous moment was having her tits exposed.

What if they did an invasion angle with the NJPW guys, maybe call it Balor Club as a nod to the fans who know history if you want, and kind of do what they did in the early days of the nWo when Hall and Nash would show up and cause chaos. It wouldn't take a lot to build them up to the WWE audience. Between the four of them they have the wrestling ability, charisma, and big guy size needed, and if Doc brings his wife they have the hot chick valet that would get over with Vince to seal the deal.
  17. Does Jacqueline have any significance other than that one UK PPV where her top got ripped off? Should be interesting for them to put a HOF video when 9/10ths of her run can't be shown on current WWE PG TV.

Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I see HHH doing something dastardly to cost Roman rather than being an actual entrant. They already established in WWE canon that Hunter has too many office duties to be champion, so I think they'll go the route of having him cause the elimination. Maybe he can be Hogan to Roman's Sid and just yank him out of the ring. Also on a selfish note, I don't want him in the match and winning because I don't think I can handle an entire WM season full of people bitching about HUN-TOR again.
  19. sek69 replied to Grimmas's topic in WWE
The problem with debuting someone in the Rumble is that you have to be especially creative about it since that person probably isn't going to win. That hasn't been WWE's strong suit as of late.
  20. It ruins Sandman and New Jack matches to have their music overdubbed since that was all those guys had.

They may as well be using the tumbler with the Royal Rumble balls to book Mania this year. Also wasting Tyler Breeze's call-up just to have a season ending payoff for Breaking Ground is an even bigger slap in the face than it normally would be considering they desperately needed over acts to fill up the card. Instead, he's the next member of the Bo Dallas/Neville/Kalisto "maybe he wasn't going to be John Cena but we kneecapped him out of the box" group.

I think Big E said it best on Twitter that at this stage Jericho is the cool dad who leaves the liquor cabinet unlocked.

I'm under the impression he's done as far as being an active wrestler, but he;s still under a contract of some sorts, If rumors are to be believed, he was hurt in training due to someone's (DeMott?) fuck up and he's still being paid by WWE so he doesn't sue anyone.

If Eva Marie could work even a little, or AT ALL, she'd be the best heel in the business. She's one of the few in the company to garner legit heel heat, but the moment she has to do a match it's all downhill.
  25. As a side note, I'm watching NXT and they're running an ad for the WWE Network gift cards. I just realized that ever since they've launched those cards, I have yet to see them anywhere. Not at Target, not at Best Buy, not at the large supermarket chain here that has every other gift card known to man. Anyone else see them in the wild anywhere?
