NWA On Demand
So after WWE Network's territory dump re-ignited my love of Mid South wrestling, I think I might be going in for the year sub once I get extra xmas/bonus/tax refund money in a month or so.

WWE TV 12/14-12/20
It might be the angle of the photo, but it's a bit disconcerting when someone who was normally built like someone who looks like they got half their DNA from Anvil suddenly looks like they could be Renee's twin.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
I think Vince just likes to feed JBL lines to bury JR, and that was his way of acknowledging it that turned into some "JBL has beef" thing on the internets.

WWE TV 12/14-12/20
Yeah, growing up in the 80s if you didn't go to house shows you'd almost never see the title defended on TV, and when you did it was a big deal. It really was no different than Brock today. If you just follow on TV, it would be a big deal when he shows up. I don't get why people seem to have weird hangups about Brock, is it because Vince paid him a lot of money for only a few dates? That's not Brock's fault, hell that's what every pro wrestler should aim for. Is it because he's kind of aloof and doesn't live and breathe wrestling like we expect top guys to do? So what. If he wants to go live in the woods and hunt bears with his bare hands between dates, more power to him. Brock has an aura no one on the roster currently has, when his music hits you know shit's about to go down. Would it make people feel better if he worked more dates but still wasn't a week to week guy? He clearly is someone who doesn't need to be on for three hours a week to get the point across, and him coming back as the hired gun of the Authority to get revenge on Roman for beating up Vince and HHH seems like the biggest money program they can do for WM.

I don't disagree, but as a counterpoint what else are guys like that in the Rumble for other to get beaten and tossed by guys like Brock? I don't think he should throw all 29 others out, but the Diesel/Kane "big guy throws out a bunch of jobbers" spot always seems to work.

He doesn't like comedic heels, basically. He likes the New Day as talent but he doesn't like their gimmick.

Worst Ring Attire?
Danny Davis' (the heel ref, not the Nightmare/OVW guy) long johns with ref striped tights has got to be up there. It's not like he was wearing them to hide a bad body since he was the masked jobber on every WWF houseshow of the time.

Vince told Backlund he was going to have a 1 year run as champ after winning the belt in 1994...
The funny thing I can easily believe both that Vince said that and that Bob believed it. His interview with Dave and Bryan was telling in the sense that the Mr. Backlund deal really was him turned up to 11.

Deadspin article on quack NFL doctors w/ WWE connection
He's the one who won't clear Danielson because he's passed every test except for the WWE one. Yet he goes on record saying CTE is overblown and kids get hurt more on the playground than in football (which is true only in terms of frequency, but no where near the same severity).

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
One thing that stands out to me is how NXT doesn't follow the WWE formula where you have to have a filler match between the two main events. You don't need to have a death spot on every PPV.

Ring of Honor Wrestling
Well she had the "hot redhead with boobs" market locked up, but then they brought in Taler Hendrix who does all that and actually adds to the product so I'm not sure what exactly Veda brings to the table now.

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
I think she might actually be ok on the main roster, her charisma is undeniable and they won't be having her do long scripted promos unless her English is farther along than it seems.

Deadspin article on quack NFL doctors w/ WWE connection
Key reader comment from the article here that is almost certainly about Dr. Maroon*: Guy in charge of the WWE concussion protocol, folks. *on the off chance that this wasn't about Dr. Maroon, most of the local beat writers that cover sports here say pretty much the same thing about him as well.

Deadspin article on quack NFL doctors w/ WWE connection
So there's a pretty big article here with the gist being that the NFL's head doctor in regards to concussions is also the guy who led the charge denying the evidence about CTE. What kind of flies under the radar is that Joseph Maroon, who besides being the go to WWE doctor is also the Pittsburgh Steelers' doctor, is also another of the main evidence deniers who are getting the side eye from people who doubt the NFL is taking the issue as anything more than PR spin. So knowing how WWE is so lawsuit leery (and rightfully so), it seems kind of odd they'd be attached to a doctor who was on the wrong side of history in regards to CTE.

Also now I believe it when the post WM Raw crowds get credited to the UK contingent.

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
We have had to endure Seven Nation Army at every sporting event in the US, so we kind of feel you guys on that.

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
It continues to amaze me that NXT is part of the same company who's main roster women's division is nothing more than "look at these crazy bitches". Seeing the crowd react to Bayley is so awesome and at the same time it makes me sad to think how she's likely to get her spirit crushed on the main roster.

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
I know the New York team isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like how they've managed to give them a serious edge with this feud while Enzo still can be completely ridiculous.

NXT Takeover: London (Spoilers)
Heel Emma is so great, it's hard to imagine this is the same person who was the klutz dancing in bubbles a year ago.

WWE Network... It's Here
They have about half of 2000 up now, and they seem to be adding 2-3 episodes a day. So 1993 up to then.

WWE Network... It's Here
It's not as sexy to territory geeks like us, but the recent 2000 Raw dump is nice to see.

WWE TV 12/14-12/20
Any time the Authority showed any weakness they'd get their heat back with in a show or two. Granted Bryan's deal got cut short so maybe there could have been something else (I doubt it), but the post WM Raw was back to making sure no babyfaces ever get a moment of happiness. Reigns up to TLC was supposed to be the next Cena but he was beat and beat and beat, and made to look like a loser who couldn't get the job done. He was about to be the new generation Lex Luger until someone finally figured out that the big samoan asskicker guy should probably be kicking people's asses. If they keep with the new plan, then great. They need to show they aren't going to go back to turning every Raw into the Debbie Downer Show to make fans feel like idiots for supporting the babyfaces who never have any hope.

Last night was great, I just fear when Hunter comes back it's going to go back to killing Roman at every turn and never letting him get any comeuppance. Vince showed more ass in one night than the Authority did in like two years.
