He seems like a hilarious guy, I love his twitter feed when he goes on trips and gives play by play of the idiots around him.

Smackdown officially back to Thursdays January 2015
Well they're certainly capable, history has shown they can do nearly anything they want if they put their minds to it and do something properly, but will they is the question. I don't know if I'd trust them to have enough patience to boil water correctly without trying to rush it and fuck everything up.

Smackdown officially back to Thursdays January 2015
Now that the show's on a better night (with more competition), I wonder if that will mean WWE will put more effort into making it more than a two hour Raw Rewind.

Dave Meltzer stuff
uh not to get personal here but have we all forgotten rovert is like a legit professional troll? I know not too many people here follow the WON board (or at least the pro wrestling section), but even when he has good points every discussion he's involved in turns into the semantics of every single word of every post until everyone runs away screaming.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I laughed out loud at "caca" when Alberto used that last year, came off hilariously over the top being unusual to hear on WWE tv. I don't remember Alberto using it but Santino using it was one of those moments that made you go "and this is why ad rates for WWE programming are never going to be good". It's not nearly as bad when it's a comedy character (not to mention one who's gimmick also includes him mangling English on a regular basis) does it, but it's completely cringe inducing when it's someone we're supposed to take serious. Wasn't there something on one of the Dave shows not too long ago when a question came up about the verbiage in promos where it was explained that's how Vince thinks people actually talk? Or something along those lines.

WWE Network... It's Here
By the way, they have an opportunity for maximum trolling if they say they're going to make an announcement at the UK RAW only for the fans to hear WELL I'M AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAAAD NEWS

WWE Network... It's Here
Doesn't it seem kind of odd that WWE didn't seem to care that they pissed off US cable and PPV companies but are walking on eggshells when it comes to the UK and Sky? It's as if they actually read the deal they have in place and realized they can't fuck them over.

The few times I've seen him he seemed alright for someone with little experience, but he should be working with better guys than he was in the indies if he's in CMLL now.

So L.A. Park (and son) showed up in CMLL last night. This is a pretty major development since not only does it mean he might have finally agreed to a mask match but it's also the first time someone on Paco Alonso's shit list has been allowed to return to the company.

Puerto Rico Wrestling
The show kind of got fucked up since the main event angle was supposed to be Alberto vs Ray Gonzalez until Alberto remembered he was booked in Mexico that weekend and they had to substitute Ricardo instead.

You'd think it would be a no brainer since Hogan's been showing up on Raw to do pretty much nothing other than promote Susan G, Komen. Having him promote the formation of the nWo or SNMEs would help everybody. WWE promotes what's on the network and there's nothing Hulk Hogan enjoys doing more than promoting Hulk Hogan. Everyone wins.

Jim Ross made a great point on with Dave and Bryan yesterday. He said the big problem with pushing 9.99 is they never tell you what you're getting for the cost. It's like having a fast food place advertise you can eat lunch for 3.99 but never telling you what kind of food they serve. How are you supposed to know if you want to eat there if you don't know what's on the menu?

When an update to a video game reduces the effect of a character/weapon in a video game it's called a nerf. The opposite effect is called a buff.

Current WWE
I've been pondering who is actually going to be on the teams in the Survivor Series main event. Since it's 5v5 instead of the 4v4 I thought it was originally, I'm guessing Team Authority will be HHH/Seth/Kane/Noble/Mercury, and Team Cena will be Cena/Dolph and I guess Orton once he officially turns. Sheamus is probably doing a match against Rusev, and Big Show (who actually has history with the Authority) is programmed with Henry. No one else is really built up to be on that level at the moment.

Also there were a bunch of guys who they couldn't get contracts finalized in time for the first taping who come in later so it's only going to get better.

So Alberto mentioned recently that the WWE executive that called him to say he was let go was one of the ones who would openly make racist comments. He didn't name names there, but cubsfan noted in his update today that Alberto mentioned before that it was HHH who called him to break the news. He also pointed out that Ricardo made similar claims towards HHH as well.

Has piracy been an issue? If anything the Network probably helped curb piracy of PPVs by not expecting people to shell out $55 to watch a B show.

What WWE is doing isn't working much better to be fair.

WWE Network... It's Here
It also can't be understated enough that they more or less promised the entire video library would be up at launch or shortly after, only to nearly pull a hamstring walking that back. I know we'd all like the complete runs of all the 80s territories they own, but it's completely ri-god-damn-diculous they don't have any TV from their biggest periods (Attitude Era or 99-01) other than a handful of Raws. It's simply insane that people need to go to YouTube to find that stuff. Bryan mentions it all the time yet Dave dismisses it as a marketing strategy to not give everything away at once. Well now that they lose as many people they sign up, it may be time to stop holding back and go all in.

WWE Network... It's Here
It's not that there's a magic bullet of content that would have increased subs by itself, it's just by not adding much of anything at all you give the impression that WWE is losing interest and that won't encourage anyone to sign up. I actually disagree with this, strongly. There are tons of guys on the main roster or NXT I could see either starting or being a key player in a boom period. Unfortunately most of the main roster guys have been cut off at the knees by start-stop pushes and handicapped by not being able to get themselves over by being forced to recite dialog that would make a soap opera actor roll their eyes.

WWE Network... It's Here
My biggest issue is there were long stretches of time where no new content was being added other than Raw/Smackdown on a month delay and the monthly PPV. Between budget cuts and people leaving for other jobs, there was apparently no one manning the ship until just recently. This is the thing your mortgaging the future on more or less and they let it just hang in the breeze, just mind boggling.

Worst Professional Wrestler Ever?
Maybe I'm biased since I never was a fan of the ECW garbage style, but I stand by it. I know he was doing stuff that was unheard of in 1994/5, but his legacy at this point is pretty much no showing events, missing 75% of his signature spots and throwing fits afterwards, and asking every fan who ever attended an ECW show if they have any weed. Hell one of his most famous moments was giving Chris Benoit his Crippler name by botching a backdrop. Plus he managed to be unprofessional enough to get told to GTFO by both WCW and WWF/E (twice!) despite being a relatively hot commodity at the time. I'll be fair and state that maybe there's an amazing Sabu match somewhere that I've never seen that would prove me wrong, but it seems like he's more or less a case of Paul Heyman managing to convince everyone the Emperor was wearing a fancy suit of clothes.
-
Worst Professional Wrestler Ever?
Surprised no one mentioned Sabu yet. At least guys like Sandman usually hit their spots (sometimes badly, but still...), very rarely was there a Sabu match where I didn't think he was going to kill himself at some point.

King of the Ring 98 Counterfactual
I just happened to have watched that PPV after Raw, and I agree I don't see how the through-the-cage spot would have supposed to have gone if it wasn't meant to happen like that. The only thing I can think of that makes sense is the chair wasn't supposed to be close enough to fall down with him, since it was the chair bouncing up and hitting his face that caused the tooth to go up his nose (and probably the concussion too).

Current WWE
It fits the storyline and all, but man I dunno about teaming up Cena and Orton a month after the so called crowning match of their generation defining feud.
