I just think it's funny TNA is party to an arrangement that pretty much 100% benefits the other side, and I'd be pretty confident that no one in TNA has a clue what makes it funny. It's like why did they even bother? They have footage of Jarrett winning the AAA title at a big show, something that actually makes TNA look like one of the big leagues instead of their usual bullshit indy selves, and they not only don't show it, they barely even mention it other than part of some comedy skit. I'm not saying they needed to educate TNA fans on the ins and outs of lucha, just show scenes of TNA guys in front of big ass crowds like when they aired matches from that Japan show in 2008 or whenever that anyone watching would see and think "wow, these guys must be a pretty big deal". I guess my point is that there's not that many opportunities for TNA to come off as one of the big boys. For them to go out of their way to ignore one that was pretty much handed to them on a platter has to be disappointing/infuriating to TNA fans who still hold out hope that they will ever become competition to anyone. Then again, you can probably count the number of those fans on both hands and have fingers left over so it's probably a moot point.

So DR LUCHA commented on this in the newest Bryan show. The belief as he understands it is that it's tied in to the settlement of the lawsuit Konnan had against TNA. The terms were they can't mention him or AAA or anything related, and that's also why they haven't brought any AAA guys in to the company. Meanwhile, AAA has mentioned TNA on their show and used TNA guys to their benefit. This may be the most TNA-est thing TNA has ever done.

CM Punk: Greatest Promo Ever
It's Zack Ryder. If he sold one shirt it would be far out of proportion to his push.

Is the block logo now illegal too?
IIRC, some local indy had "Superstars of Wrestling" trademarked, I think they actually did it at some point after the WWF show started. They sued over rights, WWF lost since the paperwork was all in the indy's favor. The logo gets blurred on any reshowings and I'm pretty sure it's why the show was renamed "WWF Superstars" at some point before it ended.

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
That would be horrible. He'd make them look tiny, he can't easily drop down to the mat, and it makes no sense for him to be involved in a shooty political angle. I agree, but it's not like Hunter's going to be doing any Tommy Young style sliding three counts here.

I seem to recall them showing footage of Harley Race winning in 1986, but I guess it could have been from anywhere and they were just pretending it was from the tournament.

Whatever the hell is going on with Daizee Haze looking unhealthy
If she's following a diet designed to get 0% body fat and is working out obsessively, then it can result in her looking like that.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
I don't know if they were officially WWWF shows but they had a working arrangement with Tunney in Toronto. Bruno was up there a lot, I know that.

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
Punk mentioning that Cena's fans pee in their pajamas when he comes out got everyone involved in that segment to crack at least a smile. It also should be noted that Punk has pretty much turned face on his promos despite being matched up against Captain SuperBabyfaceMan. I guess you can argue how much of a percentage of fans watching every week are privvy to insider type stuff, but he's certainly tapped into a long ignored segment of the fanbase that is responding to what he's doing.

From what I can gather, the theory that seems to be gaining the most momentum involves her having some kind of exercise obsession and following some sort of diet plan where the goal is 0% body fat.

Bret Hart even chimes in with a great response on Twitter:

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
It fit in the context of the whole Punk deal being all shooty and inside referential. Nothing at all odd about mentioning workrate and heel persona when you have Punk call out Johnny Ace for firing people over the phone and mentioning SHOOTNAMES~!. If he would have just mentioned it out of the blue then it would have been Russoific. Also it helped that Cena is 100% right when he said he will never win that crowd over.

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
Tonight, they had Cena largely stay away from the comedy and I thought he more than held up his end of the promo exchange with Punk. In fact, I think everyone was awesome in that final segment.

Great Johnny Ace promo video
Was linked on the WO.com page today: He's way better at smarmy heel promos than I ever expected. I love the added touch of all the HHH merchandise behind him.

And Booger Red for Undertaker. Then there's the WWE's penchant for scripting Cena to give his opponents awful nicknames like Y2Cheap and CM Sucks. God, this. I keep wishing for Cena to use some of his capital to change the verbiage of his promos. Nothing makes him look lamer than the awful attempts his character makes to insult the heel, especially when there's usually a million more obvious (and better) jokes to make. It makes an odd sight, as they seem to be continually be trying to bury the guy who's the cornerstone of the entire company by making him look like a bigger and bigger goof in his promos. It makes it even more infuriating when he does a serious promo and is awesome doing it, then within seconds they have him do some painful comedy that just flushes it away again.

CM Punk: Greatest Promo Ever
Vince will protect anyone who sells merchandise (it seems to have saved Sin Cara's job for the time being), so as long as Punk keeps moving product I would think Vince will overturn any "eating Pedigrees" plans.

Is the block logo now illegal too?
All past logos other than the scratch WWF logo are intact on VOD programming. I think they just want people to get accustomed to the block style WWE logo since that's what they use on new Legends branded merch.

CM Punk: Greatest Promo Ever
Will he have a choice? I strongly doubt he has veto power in his contract. I strongly doubt he would have signed a contract that didn't give him some say in storylines he's involved in. I doubt he has Hogan level creative control, but the whole reason his last deal went down to the last month ( assume he signed right before the first promo) was because he wanted certain conditions. I doubt he'd trade months of eating Pedigrees for a week off.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Bryan had to do the post-TNA PPV show by himself tonight/this morning because apparently Dave fell asleep.

CM Punk: Greatest Promo Ever
I'd like to know what drugs people expect Punk to start taking to go along with a gameplan that involves him eating Pedigrees.

Comments that don't warrant a thread 2010-2011
Watching the Ricky Steamboat HOF matches on demand, and one is a tag team match where he teamed with Sting. It struck me that after 15+ years of the dark haired version in some form or fashion, Surfer Sting now looks completely alien to me. It's like a completely different person.

So I don't understand something here. TNA and AAA have a deal. From what I can tell, they mention TNA on AAA TV. However TNA doesn't mention AAA at all to the point of having a false plate made to cover the AAA world title when Jarrett has it on TNA TV to cover the AAA logo on the front. What was the point of making a deal if they can't name the promotion or show a TNA guy going to another promotion and winning their title? It's like they don't want to be seen as a real promotion instead of a small time indy fed that gets to have its shows at Universal Studios.
