  1. Haven't heard eiter of those stories, anyone have details? When the Wellness Policy first came into play, Masters lost a lot of size, easily 20-30 pounds of mass. He was off TV for a while afterwards and it later came out that he went into a depression over being so small after being jacked for so long, and that it was a known but little mentioned side effect of roid use that guys get psychologically dependent on them since they can't handle seeing themselves get small again. He also got mocked by DX on an episode of Raw for being so noticeably small, but I can't remember if it was before or after his depression was known. I want to say after, since it started a mild furor on the interwebs how it wasn't cool to mock a guy who A: followed company policy and B: had legit emotional problems about it.
  2. When someone leaves WWE for say, TNA, if they show footage of that person at all it's usually just footage of that person losing or taking a beating. When someone who was in TNA for a cup of coffee makes it big in WWE, they use it as a centerpiece to hawk their online On Demand subscription site.
  3. He (or whoever he pasted that from) just read the daily WO.com update and listened to yesterday's Dave show and paraphrased it into a GRAPZ NOOZ report.
  4. Also World Class had Bill Mercer on commentary when they had one of the hottest territories on the planet, you sure as hell can't give him any of the credit for that.
  5. I think I mentioned before I don't go on THE BOARD~!~!~!(~!) very often, but I did check out the forum for the audio shows recently. It cracked me up that the thread for every show seems to have someone posting a timestamp to skip stuff like the Granny segment in Bryan and Vinny shows and MMA talk on the post-Raw Dave shows. Things like that just make it even funnier when anyone involved with those shows goes on a rant about any wrestling/MMA company not knowing what their fanbases want.
  6. My favorite moment was when HHH's theme interrupted Punk's promo, to which he responded "apparently it's time to play the game" as deadpan as possible.
  7. Basically that, but I think it was used as an example of a bigger issue where Benoit would randomly invite people to his house then when they showed up he'd refuse to let him in to the point of getting hostile. IMO the biggest part of the Benoit saga that still doesn't get discussed much is how the warning signs were there in neon lights for all to see but the only ones seeing them were folks who's first instinct was to deny what they saw/protect the business/default to the "boys will be boys" excuse. Like, practically anyone else in the world would have been "fuck, this guy is seriously messed up and needs help" but since he was in the wrestling business and surrounded by wrestlers, instead the reaction was "LOL, that wacky Chris sure is an odd one".
  8. Man, it seems like some people are really rooting for this to fail in order to justify their cynicism towards WWE/HHH.
  9. Also Bryan thinks the bird was a crow, so he not only doesn't pay attention to the shows he watches/reviews, he doesn't know one bird from another as well.
  10. Bryan has now ranted on two shows in a row (daily WON update w/ Dave and the Sunday WOL Radio show) about Bischoff being "trapped by the bird" on Impact, still completely missing/ignoring the part where Sting showed he had the key to the room and locked Eric in. However don't dare tell Bryan he doesn't pay attention to what he watches or he'll cut another promo on the next show he does.
  11. Steve just seemed so confident that it was a BS story it came off like one of his sources told him something juicy but he didn't want to tell tales (which is silly since that's pretty much what people involved with the sheets do for a living).
  12. It seems Punk isn't afraid to speak up and lobby for something he feels is right and to argue against something he feels is wrong. A lot of the ex writers on Lagana's podcasts mentioned they'd come to him with that week's terribly scripted promo and he'd politely accept it, then after skimming he'd say "not doing it" and go out and do his own promo. If he's willing to do that to the extent he apparently had to lobby/argue with Vince repeatedly to make sure his angle kicked off the way it did, I can't imagine he wouldn't be able to do it with HHH either. Hunter may be just as petty and thin skinned as anyone, but it shouldn't be overlooked that Punk has been able to pretty much get every promoter he's worked with to do things his way. He's smart in ways many guys aren't when it comes to getting things done the way he would like them done.
  13. So what's the deal with Sarita/Sara Stock/Dark Angel? She told TNA she had facial paralysis (Bells' Palsy maybe?) and that's why she's wearing the Mankind style mask and why they switched the TNA women's tag titles. Dr. Lucha seems highly skeptical of that being the real reason, implying she just wanted time off, but she's still working on Impact and in Mexico. I'm watching the latest WWC tv and she's showing up there too with the mask on. It seems like a randomly odd thing to just make up, but either way she doesn't seem to be missing any ring time.
  14. I guess selling password protected copies of his rant archives wasn't a financial success then.
  15. I thought carbon monoxide too when I first found out the family was dead, but something about the tribute show just struck me as odd. I don't know if it was Regal looking like he was hit with a bat in his tribute video, or Chavo acting like the nervous perp in every prime time cop drama ever in his. Some of the theories being suggested were so ridiculous (Nancy killed Daniel, and Chris was so distraught at this he killer her in a rage!) that the lengths some were going in order to keep some semblance of Benoit the Hero would have been comical if they weren't so sad.
  16. It's a confusing ordeal. From what I can gather, after he burned most of his bridges with the people who provided his source material, he started pretending his boss was making him take the site down since it was taking bandwidth away from his day job. Only it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out his gold scam job was a one man operation and he was that man. Two things made it funny: 1: Making up a fake boss/implying his shoots were so popular they were taking up all the bandwidth from his company's site (never stopping to think people would wonder why his boss would have allowed him to host pro wres shoots on company servers if there really was an Anonymous 57talk GM). 2: After flipping out on James "clawmaster" Zordani , he constantly begged him for more "booking sheets" to allow him to do more shows. James more or less told him to fuck off politely, and that led to "my boss is making me take the site down". *edit* Holy shit, can't believe I forgot what khawk mentioned. Any constructive criticism led to a beach worth of sand coming from his vagina. After he asked for feedback, mind you.
  17. I don't know if I'm in the minority on this or not, but if you've never seen it you aren't missing much. It's pretty much only noteworthy in the sense that it took place and Vince didn't lose his shirt because of it. The main event isn't too bad, it's still one of the best celebrity wrestler matches. The rest of the card is bad matches or bad finishes. I guess Steamboat-Borne was okay work-wise but it is a nothing match that in retrospect looks like the prototype of the now common "get everyone a PPV payday" match.
  18. A lot of wrestlers seem to have crazy ringrat stories, I would assume they'd be able to defend themselves better than a woman would be when faced with someone obviously mentally ill. Thus we don't see any stories of male wrestlers needing to seek assistance from the legal system.
  19. If they do, it would certainly explain the opinion most seem to have of "sheet readers".
  20. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised this doesn't happen more often. The parts with him saying he's going to take her to heaven are especially creepy.
  21. They have a block version of the WWE logo they like to use for their retro stuff, but the old WWF one is still OK. Only the scratch logo is off limits.
  22. Thing is , it's pretty clear Dave has little to no input on the website itself. I'm pretty sure one of the reasons for the WON/F4W merger was Dave not being able and/or willing to continue maintaining a website on top of doing the newsletter. Now he has Bryan do all the computer stuff for him, which freed up more time for him to do outside work like his Yahoo gig. Dave really reminds me of the customers I deal with at work who are really nice guys, but when they call in for tech support they have no idea how to do even the most basic things. Bryan on the other hand seems to be turning into quite the little tyrant. Napoleonic comparisons aside, it seems that his trademark hardheadedness has mutated into a near bully level "my way or the highway" attitude. Vinny had a comment a few weeks back referring back to an argument he had with Bryan over something minor, saying he gave up not because Bryan was right but because he'll NEVER STOP ARGUING. So it was easier to just drop it because he's never going let it go. I never go to the board, but I get how it can be taxing on one's nerves to be one of the main topics of discussion. Having said that, I can't recall seeing someone so abusive to his paying customers as he is. There's got to be a better way to prove your argument to someone who pays your bills than to flat out say "fuck you, I'm right and you're stupid". His rant on reviewing shows he does *because* no one watches was bizarre as stated before, as was his other rant on being called out on pointing out how small John Morrison was when he returned last week on RAW. Bryan worked himself into a tizzy (actually his words) with a long HOW DARE YOU IMPLY I SUGGEST GUYS USE STEROIDS when he did pretty much exactly that. A guy comes out after a long absence who clearly didn't get much notice he was coming back so soon, and your comment is "wow he should have worn a shirt", not to sound like a Bryan rant, but WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU EXPECT PRO WRESTLING FANS ON AN INTERNET BOARD TO TAKE THAT TO MEAN? Especially when you follow it up with "he still had definition but he was really small", his defense of "obviously I meant he couldn't go to the gym because he was injured you stupid people" makes even less sense. That's not even mentioning his running gimmick now of coming up with these booking ideas (which honestly weren't too bad) and completely losing his shit if anyone critiques them. FWIW he seemed to get really obnoxious with that after he ran his CM Punk/MITB idea past Dave who stated it was the best one he's heard, which was kind of damning it with faint praise since Dave had been blind iteming that there had been some pretty awful ideas floated around for the finish of that show. Of course that part went way over Bryan's head and now he seems to think he's Paul Heyman.
  23. Cubeta has a history of starting sites focused on his latest obsession, then closing them down and disappearing off the face of the Earth after he ends up aggravating anyone involved in assisting him with providing content for said site. Someone found info on him running a site on pinball or something where he did the exact same thing. Also his meltdown for 57talk was quite odd, with frequent mentions of his boss making him shut the site down because it was taking bandwidth away from his day job at a gold trading company. Only thing was every indication was he ran his own business, so either he was a troll who put a lot of time and effort into his game or he has legit issues mentally. Along with his frequent lashing out/apologizing to everyone who provided him with "booking sheets" (his bizarre term for match results from a given area) just creeped out anyone not already pissed at him.
  24. Wrestling fans have short memories, and that extends to any down period being seen like the worst period in the history of the company. Creatively they might be at a low ebb, but the company still is flush with cash. We're nowhere near the lowest points of the company's history, times where there was real danger of the company completely running aground. There's no reason the company can't have another boom period. Who would have thought that in 1994, during the height of the cartoon "New Generation" era that their biggest money period ever would only be 3 years away? Who knows for sure, but history shows someone will get hot at some point and spark another big period. Will it be CM Punk? Possibly, but sometimes the guys who trigger these period come out of nowhere.
  25. Shhh. If you point that out, you get shouted down line you're some big dummy. I personally look forward to every development in this angle dissected Zapruder style by jdw to make sure he beats it into everyone's cerebellum that this in fact is a worky work work and not a shooty shoot shoot.
