Latest Herb update says he separated his shoulder, he didn't break the arm. Anderson's probably lol'ing even more now.

I get why they feel they have to do it, but stopping matches in their tracks to patch up every little cut a guy gets really derails a show.

I think this is in danger of being slept on: Perhaps that's where he got his N-word credentials that he would later display to Mark Henry?

I always felt that Capetta's voice was way too annoying and nasally, especially when he had to do those drawn-out WCW intros (THIIIIS IIIIIIS STIIIIIIIIIING!).

It should be mentioned that most appendectomies these days are done via minimally invasive surgery, so 8 weeks recovery time is more than enough unless they still do it the old way in Brazil (and they obviously don't since he didn't appear to have the scar doing it the old way leaves behind).

I often wonder why guys seen as Dusty's boys (Lex, Barry) were never given runs with the title. Considering the one thing JCP needed badly was fresh faces on top, it seemed like such a no brainer move to make. Lex in particular is baffling since it seemed all the signs were there that he was going to be THE MAN and then he just.....wasn't. I don't think Lex ever really recovered from that in the eyes of most fans. They kept getting jerked around over a title change eventually happening that you could almost see the interest diminishing by the day as the fans just said "fuck it". Also was Barry ever given a serious shot at Flair? The only one that stands out was the famous Worldwide draw.

I thought the Gaspars in NJPW were Barry and Bob Orton, but Dave is saying one was Karl Moffat? Did they change the guy under the hood or was this just wrong info?

Dave Meltzer stuff
Because the longer Dave and Co push it and no one stands up to say "uh, no" the more people start to believe it. You'd think we'd be at the point that the mindset of ignoring misinformation makes it go away has been proven wrong, but we're not.

Good thing you guys are too smart to fall for that. No one here (that I know of) is a WON HOF voter, so it doesn't matter if we're smart enough or not. *edit* I saw this was for awards, not the HOF, but my point sort of still stands since Dave pushes for guys to be voted in the HOF as well.

Lance Cade Paul London Bryan Kendrick ....and of that list Kendrick (allegedly) was one of the guys who kept getting pot failures on Wellness tests, London had his shit eating grin during Vince's death march, and Cade had the incident on a plane that wasn't at all an OD that led to his endeavoring. So as long as Danielson doesn't pull a Jimmy Fallon during a serious skit or OD on a plane he should be alright.

My only question is how did you become such an expert in how the human brain operates? Unless it's some kind of Rain Man thing and mapping the inner workings of the human mind just happens to be your restricted behavior (sup SLL)? How did you become 100% certain on how people think? Also I know this is like shooting fish in a barrel, but: Every post you've ever made on the internet highly suggests otherwise.

I think the opposite was the case, they buried "Daniel Bryan" just so he could basically say "fuck this show, I'm the best wrestler in the world". I think the WWE knows they have something with him, and decided to use him to fuck with the smart crowd by having him job on the show only smarts watch. It was like the wrestling equivalent of liberals who watch Fox News just to be outraged. He's got the right connections politically (he was trained by not one but two Friends of Hunter), plus the rise of CM Punk probably helped make alternative (in wrestling circles) lifestyles like veganism acceptable. If they can accept a guy who doesn't drink or do drugs, then a guy who eats veggies won't be looked at as weird.

Chimel must know where bodies are buried, I just realized he's been the main announcer on SD for over 10 years now. It's not even like he has the excuse of fitting in with Vince's "attractive younger people on TV" mindset.

Am I the only one who is glad we don't have to listen to Tony Chimel introduce Edge as if someone squeezes his balls halfway through? I cringed every time he'd call him the "rrrrrated R....SOOOPER-star" with the super part an octave higher. Just sounded so ridiculous.

To be fair, Dave has mentioned before how he thinks it's silly wrestlers can go out and drink/drug/whore it up and that's considered part of the business, but if a woman does it then it's not acceptable behavior.

I noticed that the Konnan bio seems to perpetuate the "wink wink, nudge nudge" that Pena died of AIDS. Was there any truth to that, or was it just people speculating that must be the cause if a guy who was presumably gay dies in his 50s that has to be the reason?

It's been almost completely forgotten by history, but the actual event that set the Montreal Screwjob in motion was that Vince (at the time) couldn't afford to pay the contract he had just signed Bret to and actually encouraged him to go to WCW since they would be able to pay him. Ironically, the angle designed to be his swan song ended up being part of what turned them back to profitability, but I think by then there was no way certain forces were going to allow Bret to stay no matter what shape the company was in.

Best Angles That Didn't Pan Out
It was kind of brilliant for them to suddenly try to take ownership of the anti-Cena contingent by referring to them as "traditional wrestling fans" voicing their by-god right to an opinion, as if that was their intention all along to get their top babyface booed by half the building.

Reading that really makes me miss the days where there was wrestling on TV a good chunk of the weekend, and even if it wasn't always good it was something different. Hell I even miss GLOW which was the end of what was for a time a 3 hour syndicated block on Saturday nights from 10pm-1am.

I could be wrong, but I would think that Dos Caras's mask holds more weight in Mexico considering the family ties than Rey's did. It would be like if Santo signed with WWE and appeared on RAW unmasked, he couldn't go back to Mexico as if nothing happened (and no I'm not saying Dos Caras is the same level as Santo).

So with Rey again making noise about wanting more money, and WWE wanting to make a new Hispanic star to take his place one day. it looks like Dos Caras Jr. may end up the beneficiary. The question is, will they allow him to use the mask when he makes it to TV? He's been working house shows without it, but I would think that would be a pretty significant mask to just throw away since it's not like he could go back to Mexico and pretend it never happened in the era of worldwide TV and internet.

Best Angles That Didn't Pan Out
I always felt Flair's introduction to the WWF was a flop in the sense that they still weren't acknowledging the NWA at that point. The belt he was wearing didn't mean anything to the WWF centric fans, and then the whole lawsuit happened that prevented them mentioning it if they wanted to. It made Flair come off as some wanna-be wearing a fake belt. It was only Bobby Heenan working his ass off that got him over with the WWF crowd at all. It's no wonder the Hogan feud didn't set the world on fire, if you were a fan who was only aware of WWF history, you would have little to no reason to care about that Flair guy.

Man, it's amazing that happened seven years ago and wouldn't be at all out of place on Impact next week.

Except of course the Observer bit goes out of the way to avoid mentioning who the person Mickie had a fling with is. To the point that by the lengths they went to separate them it could only have been a main event guy. That leaves Taker (who has Michelle), HHH (has Steph), HBK (has Jesus), Batista (likes teenagers), so Cena's the only one left it could possibly be.

Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
If anything, they seem to be doing the Stone Cold push with him where he keeps doing the stuff he was doing as a heel but just doing it to other heels instead. That promo he did against Sheamus was kind of awkward though. Bringing up all the heel stuff he did to HHH as a way to get a face reaction was not the best idea they could have come up with.
