  1. I can't wait for the day someone calls them on their bullshit and challenges them to back up their threats. WWE's legal team has proven all they're good at is stepping on their own dicks, and now they want to argue guys they already determined can't draw are somehow going to damage WWE by working indy shows.
  2. Besides the Dudley Boyz issue, now even Ivory is being told she can't use that name anymore. Is Vince afraid TNA is going to shoot to the moon on the drawing power of Ivory, Spike Dudley, and Kidman?
  3. So what was the deal with him no-showing the PPV? Was it a travel fuck-up or did he simply not show?
  4. Isn't the female tag team that faced the Jumping Bomb Angels the Glamour Girls, or did Lorelai and Rory go back in time from the WB?
  5. Well whattya know, the Torch was wrong again. Me = not shocked.
  6. Interesting. I know the X Divsion belt has "NWA TNA" on it, but on their programming and website they never call it an NWA title, it's always the TNA X Division title. I hope the "trial period" doesn't require TNA to get unattainable ratings like the deal they had with ECW did. Wasn't ECW getting higher ratings than whatever TNN was showing in that timeslot before?
  7. WWE just informed Puder that they won't be picking up his contract when it ends, kind of like how they told the Dudleys in advance they weren't going to pick up theirs either. It's a shame, the kid seemed to be really getting it in OVW. I wasn't expecting a callup after he pwned Angle on WWE TV, but I hope he sticks with wrestling.
  8. from WWE.com He was teaming with Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson in OVW, so I guess this was expected. He had a good Ken Shamrock vibe in the matches I saw, he'd destroy people UFC style. I guess with Spike using Ultimate Fighter to stick it in WWE's ass, they didn't want a UFC style guy on the payroll.
  9. Another good part is when Ken Anderson comes out after he debuted on Smackdown to announce his name change to Ken Kennedy. He comes out and talks about meeting with "Vinny" who tells him he needs a new name because there hasn't been an Anderson on TV in 57 years, so he picked Vince's middle name. He then instructs the crowd from now on to refer to him as "MISTER...KENNEDY....*jumps on the ringside desk so his ass (with the "Mr. Kennedy" on his tights) is level with the camera*......KENNNN....EDD...EYYYY" That promo alone probably sealed his promotion to WWE.
  10. Brian's gonna convert the tape as soon as I get my ass to the post office, which should be in the next day or so.
  11. ...and I was completely blown away. I read the taping reports of the Johnny Jeter angle and I thought "well it can't be *THAT* good, these are mostly developmental guys and indy-4-life guys". I watched it and I can say it WAS that good. The way the angle was sold was better than anything WWE has done in years. The one person who got it over the most was OVW announcer Dean Hill. He's a 6 foot 5 (at least) ex-cop with a Wilford Brimley looking mustache, and after the intial beatdown of Matt Cappotelli, the image of Dean sitting at the ringside desk with Matt's blood on his hands (literally) not able to form his disgust into words was awesome to watch. The next week was even better, as they showed everyone in the entire company (not just the wrestlers) were disgusted by Jeter's actions. Jeter came out again and Dean was cussing him out under his breath, but when Jeter called him on it he exploded (while standing, to illustrate he's not some mousy WWE announcer). I was marking out, then the cameraman (!) showed his disgust by setting the camera down on the desk and walking off rather than continue to film Jeter's interview. It was capped off by OVW owner Danny Davis calling Jeter out to the ring and bitchslapping him until Jeter finally laid him out, gaining even more heel heat. It was so old school NWA, and I was marking like a five year old, but at the same time I amazed that this is WWE's development territory booking circles around the "big leagues".
  12. Still, Meltz can't dispatch one of his minions to do a TNA report? It just comes across as a snub when someone who most of the business seems to mark for can't seem to be bothered to cover a PPV.
  13. He still has time to do every other PPV show. Doesn't he have a show during WWE PPVs?
  14. From the Inside Pulse reviewer, who comes off as a dick, but Meltz didn't have a PBP thread up (rant about that following). Sounds like a good show if nothing else for the main event. I wonder though, is there a reason Meltz didn't do a match by match PBP thread? He does them on every WWE show of course, and every MMA show he can find anywhere on Earth, but there's another US based wrestling company on PPV and he ignores it? Whatsupwitdat?
  15. I don't see Ray Gordy ever being able to make it on his own, every second generation wrestler ever had at least their initial push based on their family history. I'm not saying they should make him a Freebird, just say he's going to try to make sure his dad would have been proud of him. Team him up with Hayes as a mouthpiece, but don't call them Freebirds. Let the fans make the connection themselves.
  16. I was reading the results from the latest Deep South Wrestling (WWE's new development fed) show and I see that Ray Gordy is one of the wrestlers on the roster. Ray of course is Terry's son, and since they've been talking to Kevin Von Erich about obtaining World Class footage, and since Michael Hayes still works in the office I wonder if we won't be seeing Ray Gordy being called up to WWE to promote a WWE Freebirds DVD. If Ray has issues cutting a promo (and if he's anything like his dad he probably does), they could have Hayes come down to manage him. Just a theory I've been working on, but I think it could be good if done properly.

Brass Knucks titles were pretty much what's known as hardcore now, only it was hardcore by 70s and 80s standards. Both guys would have taped fists, use chairs, etc. Brass Knucks were the best known foreign object of the times, so they'd name their "hardcore" titles after them.
  18. More JR gems this week, I never get tired of finding these: Ooh, another scathing JR burn to the internet fans. Is he just recycling his Ross Reports from 1999 or what? Says the man working for the company who wants all his wrestlers to cut their hair and work the same boring but safe style. *must not make a joke about the bars in the French Quarter staying open* Why do some announcers wear goofy cowboy hats? This man is beyond parody. Yet last week, JR stated everyone in the buisness knows tag teams don't draw as well as singles. Right, you have to start fucking a McMahon in order to be able to get any time off in the WWE. And finally, my favorite is another question-and-answer: A lot do pursue jobs with WWE TV, but WWE doesn't want people who are fans to work for them. I bet you if that guy who wrote this letter applied to WWE, he'd be considered too markish for them.
  19. I can't imagine they'd sign Gayda and not even talk to Charlie Haas. If signing her is what it takes to sign him, then its worth it right there.
  20. The majority of North American fans haven't seen a well booked women's divison in over 20 years. I'd agree they don't want the same diva crap WWE offers. Women's wrestling, when booked seriously (instead of two poorly trained models having pillow fights), usually gets over with fans.
  21. Everyone's assuming that TNA will treat their women like WWE does, just because they're competing against them. This might just be the start of a series of signings to make a real women's division. Like I said before, there are a lot of talented women's wrestlers working for NWA affiliated territories who would jump at the chance if TNA offered a real women's division. What better way to show the world that they're different from WWE than to have actual female wrestlers instead of useless eye candy. I think it could get over if pushed properly, like how the WWF did in 1984.
  22. There's a lot of women in other NWA territories TNA could bring in to face Kim. They still have the NWA Women's title floating around somewhere.
  23. If this is about my TNA Impact! thread, they offer the shows for free on their website, so there's no copyright violation. If its not about my thread, oops.
  24. TNA has also signed Gail Kim.
  25. It was obvious they were pacing themselves for an hour-plus match, but I wouldn't have thought Bret and Shawn needed to work so slow for so long. Maybe HBK was hitting the Jesus Juice before the match.
