Ever go to Vader's website?
I think it was funny when he was put in the ring with another guy who liked to get rough (Ken Shamrock) he was caught on camera asking him to ease up.

Ever go to Vader's website?
I don't know, a lot of the stories that paint him to be a douchebag bully seem to be quoted from people who were there. I mean, he likes to get rough with people in the ring but Paul Orndorff and Harley Race (who had to be in his 60s then) both seemed to have no problem handling him outside the ring.

Bob Backlund vs. Iron Sheik
Was it ever proven if this was a legit screwjob? I always heard Bob didn't want to job so they did had his manager throw in the towel in a sort of proto-Montreal.

Comments that don't deserve a thread
I think that if WWE ever allows Christian to get a win over anyone remotely close to the uppper card, he could be a major star.

Ever go to Vader's website?
I was checking out his official page, and while it appears to be maintained by someone other than Vader himself, I was suprised at how it was laid out. The stories of backstage fights, in ring shoots, bragging about his arrests, and his list of people he injured in the ring really makes him sound like a asshole bully douchebag who doesn't understand the point of a worked match is to *not* hurt people. I used to think he was cool, but he really comes off like a dick.

Fact or Fiction?
I think it was an inside joke, or maybe even a rib on Pat to have the phantom tourney take place in Rio since it's known for its flamboyant (not necessarily gay) parades. I don't think Pat ever hid who he was, and we all know what most of the business (especially the McMahons) think of homosexuals.

Road Warriors DVD
This is the match with the famed Dusty Finish that killed off Chicago for NWA/WCW isn't it?

Sell Me On Classic Wrestling
The match of his on the steel cage DVD is awesome, in no small part due to Bob actually showing emotion. Pissed off Bob rules, which is why his crazy old man gimmick was so awesome.

No doubt Backlund is probably one of the finest technical wrestlers I've seen, but he's so terribly whitebread it makes watching him a chore.

Sell Me On Classic Wrestling
I'm amazed the (W)WWF was able to draw what it did in the 70s since Bruno and Bob Backlund were probably the two most boring workers ever and between them they held the belt for most of the decade. I know Bruno had a big Italian following, but most of his matches are brutal to watch even by the standards of the decade.

That's Verne for ya, what do you expect from the guy who didn't think Hogan was champ material in 1983.

RAW 6/27
At first I thought it was Melina, and that they already decided to break up MNM.

Talk of the draft
ok, I didn't know the SD spoilers were out already, guess you can render my above post null and void.

RAW 6/27
Yeah I thought it was kind of ironic that Hogan-HBK-Cena was a better display of the evolution of wrestling than, well, Evolution.

Talk of the draft
SD has two more picks, no? I'm assuming Jericho will be one, and Batista will be another. Especially since Big Show was in the SD title match and now he's on RAW, Batista will probably be the one taking his place.

RAW 6/27
I was actually digging RAW tonight, Angle-Flair was better than I expected despite the near fatality on the blown pop-up superplex spot. I liked how Flair would try to outwrestle Angle and fail, and then Kurt would try to outcheat Ric and equally fail. They established that both guys had their aspect of the game locked down. Of course the only down spot for me was the Diva Bimbo Search. Christ, isn't Slaughter a good enough company man to deserve better than to get involved in this?

Road Warriors DVD
The thing about stadium shows: any seat not on the floor is too far to see anything, and even if you fill the floor it'll look bad on TV having so many empty seats.

There's a PPV tonight
Unless its some bizarre ploy to work the sheets for sympathy, the reports of HHH's phyical condition that trickle in would suggest to me he has maybe 3 years max left in the business.
-
There's a PPV tonight
Unless he has several quick switches (that would damage the title) I don't see HHH lasting long enough to beat Flair.

There's a PPV tonight
I say the SD title 6 way ends in a schmozz, and while Tazz and Cole are wondering who's the champ, Batista's music hits to announce the new draft pick. That gives HHH the chance to squish Cena, you know he's probably shaking like a junkie in withdrawl since he hasn't had a belt in months *and* he jobbed on a PPV.

Hogan is back in WWE
He only did that once, if I recall, with the whole Mr America gimmick....and he was pretty much right since his opinon was that Steph was just using the gimmick to siphon heat.
