  1. Yeah I thought they were trying to make SmackDown the better show, yet they seem to be trading away their best talent.
  2. Hulk Hogan beating every heel in WCW in the triple cage match. I know that's a Wrestlecrap moment as well, but having one old guy (Savage was pretty much a non-factor) beat your entire roster exposed the business more than anything I've ever seen.
  3. When HHH convincingly beat Booker T, which seemed to verify the "black people are inferior" theme that was the buildup. Lita's promo when she challenged Chyna to a match and ended up sounding like a little girl pretending to be a grownup.

In that "Don't Try This At Home" thing on every WWE DVD, is that Droz being carried out of the ring on a stretcher?
  5. I saw this over on WO, and it struck me as probably the best commentary on wrestling by someone in the business:
  6. Watching Vis gyrate reminds me of that animated gif of Vince dancing in the ring with Sable. You think Vince sees himself as a 500 pound black man with a blond mohawk?
  7. Angle impressed me how he went from heel (his entrance) to face (bringing up Stephanie) to heel again (bashing Batista) in one promo without missing a beat. Say what you will about his workrate, but that was some Rock-like crowd manipulation last night.
  8. Well it's standard WWE policy that all blond male canadian heels have to wet their hair.
  9. He's always been at the right place at the right time, and has a knack for leaving a site just when they're about to go down the shitter. The question remains, if it's all a matter of him having the largest body of work for US wrestling, why hasn't someone with an equal sized collection come around and do it better? The match review folder here has at least 5 people off the top of my head who have tape collections that probably rival his and do a much better job reviewing.
  10. I guess SK is tired of his match reviews getting absolutely dismantled by people who know what they're talking about: over at his blog he unveiled his new format, which is just result-time of match-star rating. Cause you know, explaining your star ratings is so last tuesday.
  11. I think the Eddie story is probably true. By all accounts the match was disappointing and you have to think Benoit wanted to go all out for the ECW crowd, if nothing else for the storyline. Eddy sure seemed to be sandbagging, and I'm sure Benoit was all "WTF, negro?" afterward.
  12. It would appear that JBL has the Douchebag of the Year Award on lockdown already....
  13. When you think about it, the Stone Cold character really was born in ECW, so it really wasn't too much of a stretch for me. At least they didn't have a guy with no ECW connection at all in that role.
  14. So is WWE going to revive ECW or was this still just a one shot?
  15. It could be like Collateral, someone trashes his limo and a dead body falls out of the trunk...
  16. What the hell could Meanie have possibly done to JBL to warrant a shitkicking years after his WWF run?
  17. Wow, JBL's an unprofessional shit, what a shocker. RVD got put in the doghouse for accidental potatoes, and JBL rapes people in and out of the ring and gets a main event push.
  18. Reading the results it seems halfway through they realized it was an ECW show so maybe they should book it like an ECW show. Sounds like the last half of the show was everything you could possibly ask for.
  19. Sounds like the crowd is pretty anti-WWE, Meltz is calling it "violent heat" when the WWE gusy came out and got a "Fuck You Smackdown" chant. I'm thinking they SERIOUSLY underestimated ECW's staying power as the fans seem to be pretty vocal against any WWE involvment.
  20. I wonder if the anti WWE signs were handed out at the door... I really wanted to get behind this PPV, but they couldn't let it be just an ECW show, they had to make it WWE vs ECW and we all know that they never want to show WWE as weak. It's like a HHH match stretched over a whole PPV: just when you let yourself get a little excited that the right person will go over, you get Pedigree'd into reality.
  21. I don't remember the exact quote, but Cornette commandeered the play by play as usual during a MX squash on Saturday Night back when they were taping at the old Techwood Drive studios. Bobby Eaton went to the top rope to do a move and reached up and grabbed hold of one of one of the rafters to balance himself, and without even missing a beat, Cornette went into a rant-within-his-usual-rant on how he asked TBS to raise the roof of the studio for MX matches.
  22. You gotta think HHH is chomping at the bit to squash Cena, especially after the pop he got for his first RAW appearance. Besides, they've spent years establishing RAW is HHH. I don't think he wants to change shows.
  23. Apparently WWE is trying to stack Smackdown in order to make it attractive for another network, but can it be saved? USA isn't likely to devote another night to wrestling, and Smackdown is hamstrung by the fact that it's on UPN and even the highest rated show on UPN has extremely shitty ratings. It seems like half the midwest US doesn't even have a UPN affiliate, or if they do, it's a small no-power station you gotta live next to the tower to pick up. I'm thinking that moving Cena and the WWE title to Raw and delaying the decision on a Smackdown champion is somewhat of a safety valve. I think if they can't get a network by the end of the summer, they're gonna pull the plug and have some sort of title-vs-title blowoff.
  24. Well apparently Teddy Long is supposed to make a decision about the title in the coming weeks. I don't know if that means the HHH Memorial Hunk of Gold is moving to SD or if they're going to vacate the WWE title and have a tournament.

Cause you know that a lot of mysterious white dust went into booking the thing....
