Is the Yokozuna match the casket match with Marty flying to heaven?
  2. Seems like you guys might be right, since the first Smackdown draft pick was.......... OMG SPOILARZ~! ......................... Chris(t) Benoit
  3. So does John Cena getting drafted to RAW (and presumably the WWE championship moving over as well) combined with the switch from Viacom to USA mean that Smackdown's all but dead and the split is over?

I wonder why do most DVDs include people's WWF/E debut matches (which were usually jobber matches) yet they don't include Taker's debut at Survivor Series '90 which was one of the best debuts they ever pulled off.

My girlfriend has a poster of The Rock in her bedroom, so yeah. She also used to be big on HBK back in the day. Not so much the current balding version though. Edge used to be one of her favorites too, until he stopped washing his hair on a regular basis and started with the mop-head look. She doesn't watch wrestling much anymore, but she caught RAW recently and thought Randy Orton looked like a dork, so she still has a good eye for talent.
  6. If he ever ties or passes Flair's record, I'd wager WWE would start with the "best ever" BS. I still say HHH isn't a bad wrestler. I've seen him have pretty good matches with people of various skill levels, it's just a matter of HHH wanting to work that leaves the impression of him being poor. Even before getting with Steph, a lot of the smark crowd was down on HHH for not always giving his best effort.
  7. One usually follows the other, people with failing businesses don't tend to do well personally in the finance department.
  8. I'm sure Vince will come in his pants the first time he sees Singh too. How sad is this, one of the all-time greats having money issues despite a brillant 30+ year career. HHH allegedly worships the guy so why doesn't he help a brother out?
  9. HHH tends to half-ass it if he knows he isn't going over or he isn't wrestling one of his buddies, which creates the opinon he isn't a good wrestler.
  10. I think HHH can still bring it in the ring, but he's way too overexposed. It seems like every RAW starts with a 20 minute HHH promo and ends with HHH in the main event, and in the middle everyone talks about what HHH is doing or what his plan will be. The casual fans are bored shitless with HHH, and WWE is going to embarrassing lengths to hide it. Why should they be emotionally invested in anyone on RAW since the moment they become popular, they're immediately booked to face (and get dominated by) HHH for no other reason than to prove he's the dominant alpha male. Look at Hurricane, Rock gave him a rub and despite the fact that no one expected Helms to main event because of it, to this day when HHH wants to make the point that he's angry we get him beating up on Hurricane. RVD caught on with the crowd, and BAMMO he's booked to be clearly inferior to HHH. What really becomes annoying, is when the heat starts to rise on him, he'll do some safe jobs he can point to later, "see, I'm a company man, I laid down for X". Of course whoever he jobs to usually ends up returning the favor in triplicate. It becomes a self-fulfilling circle jerk of a prophecy. HHH can honestly say no one else on RAW can carry the ball, but the main reason he's seen as the only real main eventer is because he's booked himself to thoroughly dominate everyone he faces. HHH-Batista III is a prime example. Kayfabe-wise there's no way HHH deserves a title shot. He lost twice already, yet he gets to make the demand to the champion that not only does he get another match, he gets to name the stip too. Way to completely remove your champion's balls. Batista should have just told H to go fuck himself and make him earn a title shot like anyone else. Instead, we get the big, bad Animal allowing his enemy to set the terms for his title defenses.

  14. Harry Smith was supposed to get a tryout at the RAW tapings, and Teddy Hart had a match on the Velocity tapings today. I wonder if WWE is serious about the new generation of Harts, or if this is just more Vince kissing Bret's ass. Especially considering how badly Teddy's last tryout with the E ended. If they are serious, they should look at Nattie Neidhart to help boost the women's division. I'd love to see someone taught by Stu stretching out the diva sluts.
  15. It's just easier to come to terms with the fact that people like SK set the IWC opinon of matches and workers, and anyone who refutes them is a "kook". The man has an almost personal beef with JBL as a main eventer and as such will never give him a fair shake in any match review. His devoted fanbase will eat it up with a spoon, and people will brand JBL a poor worker despite him having 2 or 3 *** to arguably **** afffairs.
  16. I laughed when HHH claimed he retired Kevin Nash in a Hell in a Cell. I'm guessing somewhere in Arizona a beer was thrown at a TV screen. We should have a poll, who's HHH trying to emulate with the 1880s beard: Harley Race or Lemmy from Motorhead? I still don't know what they're doing with the Vis and Lilian angle. Shouldn't a storyline build to, I dunno, an actual MATCH?
  17. Anyone else notice they cut the live crowd out of the HHH interview when they started chanting "boring"?
  18. Considering some real ECW cards, this show doesn't look too bad. I'm wondering, Vince's promo on RAW last week seemed to hint that they might bring ECW back for more than just this PPV, if that's so, how is that possible considering they're probably going to lose Smackdown as it is?

Here's another wrestling urban legend everyone assumes is true I always wondered about: Was David Von Erich really in line for a NWA title run when he died? Everyone assumes Kerry got the belt because David was supposed to have a run, but I don't see how that would have been possible given the NWA storylines unless it was just a one-week type of thing. Also, is it true that Kerry didn't really want to become a wrestler and that Fritz pretty much forced him to after David died?
  20. I was under the impression the end was improvised since everyone thought they just witnessed Pillman get killed.
  21. Who was that?
  22. It should also be mentioned that most of the guys he sent to rehab were offically off the WWE payroll, ensuring the word "former" would appear in any obituaries.
  23. Whats sad is they were pretty much right, since he did end up killing himself right after. At least WWE is consistent, they'd rather avoid bad PR than help a guy.
  24. It's pretty amazing to consider that as much as he's universally praised, Eddy is probably only the second or third most talented member of his family. Chavo especially was doing stuff in the 70s that was completely nuts for the time. Hector was one of the best junior heavyweights of his time, which unfortunately happened to be smack in the middle of the roid era. It's a shame his US run that most people remember is when he held the NWA Jr title under a mask as Lazer Tron.
  25. JJ separated his shoulder in the first Wargames, Paul spiked him with LOD's wrist spikes to cover kayfabe-wise.
