Edge Vs. Batista; WWE Raw
Especially since they always book faces to always fall for HHH's traps to make them look stupid. There's absolutely no reason Batista would want to risk his belt and career (kayfabe wise) in HHH's specialty match. By the way, remember when the Cell was Taker's specialty? I wonder how Hunter was able to pull that off considering Take's as protective of his gimmick as Hunter is.

Edge Vs. Batista; WWE Raw
What a shocker, Batista gets a good reaction in his match only to fall victim to Flair Swerve #7098989 and gets a HHH beatdown. I'll say one thing, I mark for Heyman when he gets revved up in promos. What does it say about wrestling when the guy who has the most passion in the fucking business had his joint go bankrupt and is pretty much owned by Vince.

Judgment Day
I wonder how many times JBL will surprise people before folks start to realize he's a pretty decent brawler type worker. This has to be at least the third or fourth time everyone pulled a Keith and dismissed a JBL match as garbage only to have it turn out to be a good to excellent match.

Big news
Not to derail this topic any moreso than what it already is, I must have details on that. His name was (I think) Lloyd Linsay-Young. He was one of those guy you couldn't tell if he was overly excited or borderline retarded. Any time he went to a satillite map or some other type of advanced technology, he'd punctuate it with a yell of "SCIENCE~!" (like in the Thomas Dolby song). *edit* I found a link , apparently he's working on a radio station in San Fran now. His son started taking over after a while, but my cable company dropped the station so I don't know how long it lasted. I see now WWOR was bought out by Fox's parent company and is now a UPN (??) affilliate. Kinda sad that all the wacky hijinx I grew up watching is probably replaced now with Moesha reruns.

Big news
At one point my cable system used to carry WWOR in New York when it was an independent station. That was wild, they'd have this psycho weatherman during their noon news, Howard Stern's old TV show, and in the middle of it all they'd show Mets games.

Edge Vs. Batista; WWE Raw
I'm thinking HHH will never let Flair turn face, since he has to know that people want to see that and in his mind that makes him a bigger heel by keeping Flair his lackey. "I know what you want, and I'm going to deliberately not give it to you" has been HHH's motto for years. If WWE was smart ( I know...) they'd play off the current Star Wars mania and do a mini feud with Flair and Christian as the upstart youngster vs the wizened old master.

How is it that I get WGN here in Pittsburgh but it's not carried in bigger cities?

Smackdown moved to Friday Nights
The thing is, the wrestlers that people would pay to see aren't likely to not be on free TV. The people who are likely to be bumped off free TV aren't going to generate much house show sales.

Smackdown moved to Friday Nights
WWE has viewed Smackdown as the B show for years anyway, moving to Fridays will only cement that belief. I don't get how people think ending the brand split would be a good thing. It would just mean that all you'd see on WWE TV is HHH and Undertaker. I don't see how less TV would make people want to go to house shows to watch people they barely see on TV. The brand split is as close as we have in the US to competiton, having one of them shut down would just make the product even more stale and boring.

Juventud Guerrera signs with WWE
I wonder if they'll have Rock come back to bury him in a promo again.

RAW talk
I was amazed by the fact that they kept continuity on the "Lawler Hates ECW" angle from 1997, but they can't bother to remember anything that happened on RAW more than two weeks prior.

Hardcore Homecoming Card
Jerry Lynn's probably on tour with his band, Nickelback.

Hardcore Homecoming Card
I thought the Eliminators stopped teaming because they didn't like each other.

RAW talk
If the constant devaluing of Christian before he switches brands doesn't illustrate how Smackdown is viewed as the B-show, I don't know what does. The fans have pretty much demanded a Lita turn, but then what? Do they team up the real-life F buddies? Edge doesn't need a broad to get over, unless they do a Kevin Sullivan-Fallen Angel thing with them.

TNA news from this week's Observer
Either that or he's pulling a Hunter where he sees the writing on the wall and does the job to look like a good company man. Wonder what was up with Jeff Hardy not showing.

Matches where the wrong person went over.
I still can't figure out why Christian was squashed so thoroughly by Kane in their Gold Rush match. I'm not completely disagreeing with Kane going over as much as I'm puzzled how Christian was clearly gaining momentum as a potential breakout heel only to get less offense than Iron Mike Sharpe.

NMB Wrestling Depot
They wouldn't be hosting it, the only connection would be that the users of the FTP would also post here. Almost everyone here communicates via IM so you wouldn't have to advertise it here.

NMB Wrestling Depot
I've seen this idea batted around, but considering the interest in the classic matches threads I think it would be a good idea. We should set up an FTP server where people can upload classic matches, shoot interviews, or whatever. Web based places like YouSendIt either aren't reliable or they have limitations on filesize or downloads that just serves to annoy everyone. If you're late to the party, you miss out. I'm sure we could work out some method of setting this up, maybe even have everyone who'd benefit chip in a coupla bucks. Passwords could be put in place to discourage leechers and save the bandwidth for the folks who contribute. What do you guys think?

The New Face of the WWE
It's almost to the point where they have to do a more thorough roster shuffling due to all the newly-emptied roster spots.

The New Face of the WWE
With all the releases lately, requested or otherwise, how do you think that plus the upcoming draft will change things on WWE TV? A lot of the openings now are background/role player types that can let a guy fresh from OVW work the green off without being expected to carry a big storyline. It really isn't fair now how they pull guys from OVW, give them a completely new (and usually lame) gimmick and expect them to be over right out of the box. In fact, it's what they did with the Rock, after Third Generation Blue Chipper Rocky went over like a lead balloon he was put in a stable that allowed him to gradually work on his skills until he ended up overshadowing the entire group.

Luther Reigns Released
OMG RAYCIST!! BAN PLZ~!~! Seriously, I didn't expect Luther to get released. He's got the WWE-mandated hoss credentials and he's not completely terrible in the ring.

Favorite moments in wrestling
Heyman's rant at Vince during the Invasion was as classic as well.

WO News and Notes
Somehow I think this is completely kayfabed. I can't imagine Molly not having a problem with having to put over talentless Diva sluts, and I can't imagine Vince being so gracious as to let someone out of theor contract to attend church regularly. Obviously this HHH guy can't work main event style, he should be jobbing on Heat. Anyone who's surprised they botched the Heartbreakers hasn't been paying attention the last couple years.
