WWE TV 01/30 - 02/05 Cody with the Carny Special tonight
As awesome as the final segment was, it has me concerned about Elimination Chamber. If they job Sami in Montreal there might be a riot. Also I *really* hope they don't pull a "well of course your hero got screwed in Montreal" here.

He wasn't that much shorter than Braun, which was surprising. Also I hate the WWE trope of "established team loses to two dudes put together randomly".

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
The Ashley Massaro allegations alone should have been the end of Vince, and been a major fucking scandal for the military too.

Someone doing a Twitch Streamer gimmick should either have a manager ringside running the stream, or be wearing a GoPro to film the action.

Yeah Rhea got absolutely bigfooted by her, and it kind of ended her NXT run on a thud. It's also extra gross when you consider she also was plagued with self-confidence issues and I can't imagine that was helpful in that regard.

Royal Rumble 2023 aka 30 years of pointing at sign as Mania main event booking
Also holy shit, not only did this show draw a $7.7 million dollar gate that doubled the previous record (which was the last time the show was at the Alamodome), viewership on the 'Cock was up 52 percent from last year. This show did absolutely stupid numbers in all metrics The Logan Paul/Ricochet spot got like 26 million views on Youtube too.

At this point I'm starting to think Vince really did just want to bum rush the board so he can broker a sale to cash out. From all accounts he hasn't made any attempts to take over creative, and lord knows Vince's patterns are so obvious we'd clearly have seen it on TV if he did. Maybe his time in exile finally made him realize he doesn't have to do this shit 24/7 anymore. Of course Vince wouldn't trust anyone else to sell his baby than himself, so perhaps after its sold he just goes around the world partaking in hookers, blow, and pancakes with the Great O-Khan.

Sami can easily be this generation's Mick Foley, lovable babyface who can have short runs with the title without being damaged because the crowd loves him so much. Speaking of, since WWE loves Creating Moments, Sami winning the title could be the new "Mrs Foley's Baby Boy has done it" moment for this era. Also if pushing Sami is such a booking dead-end, then why the hell did they devote so much time building it up?

This isn't the condemnation you seem to think it is....everyone thought that Jackass stuff was way better than expected and Sami was a big part of that. He turned something that by all rights should have been the worst kind of Wrestlecrap and made it Sports Entertaining.

The crowd did when they popped like Austin just showed up when Sami hit him with the chair, and again when Roman got nuclear heat for killing him in return. When you have a program getting that kind of reaction you normally want the blowoff to be on the largest stage possible. I feel like this is another example of WWE Brain where after 100+ years of professional wrestling now suddenly you have people like "Well Actually you don't want to have your hottest program main eventing your biggest show".

They did that so well they created their hottest angle in decades, yet somehow it's not good enough to main event Wrestlemania because....reasons. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here that no one else seems to see how silly that it. Uncle Paul got a lot of goodwill just by not doing the dumb things Vince would do, but putting Cody over the hot hand would go a long way to ending a lot of that.

Also I just was thinking about it, and doing Roman/Sami in Montreal is dumb since it pretty much telegraphs Sami isn't winning and I can't imagine that is going to go over well with the crowd. Cody getting crowned as the company choice while the guy the crowd wants getting jobbed out is such a rehash of the Daniel Bryan stuff it's hilarious.

Also Rey got hurt in his match on SD with Kross, which is why he wasn't in the Rumble. He's gotta be laying in bed at night wondering why the hell he went back to WWE just to get stuck working with lugs.

Argue about Cody all you want, but Roman/Sami is the hottest thing this company has by a mile. Him hitting Roman with a chair got an Attitude Era level pop, and his otherworldly ability to gain babyface sympathy makes this a "how are you not fucking making this the WM main event?" level situation. Yeah, you can knock Sami all you want too but even Austin was just some schlub feuding with Savio on the pre show of PPVs until Austin 3:16 caught fire. The company was smart enough then to ride the hot hand that fell into their lap to the biggest money earning period in company history. I'm not saying Sami would ever reach that level, but goddamn you got a molten crowd who couldn't possibly make it clearer this is what they want to see and it's like this company hates making money.
