Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Rocky Romero and Volador Jr have a banger in the main event here for the Historic (formerly NWA) Welterweight title. Starts about 2 hours in if you want to skip to it, and see why there's nothing like a Friday night Arena Mexico crowd.

I chalk that up to Bryan being a miracle worker more than anything else, that man can make literally anything work.

Everything else aside. that cobra gimmick was the stupidest shit ever. I don't care that Santino was a comedy wrestler, it was the worst.

AEW TV 1/18-1/20
When he was in Mid South, Bill Watts would heavily imply it on commentary to the point he might as well have just come out and said it. By the time he was in JCP it was less "sissy" and more "spoiled rich mama's boy". As for Bryan, I suspect he's going to have another great match since Cage is ridiculous for a guy his size and he can let Bryan steer the ship.

Jay Briscoe passes away in car accident. Age 38
Reading Jay's wife describing her daughters' injuries and all I can think of is that the the person who hit them must have been going fast as hell to cause that level of damage.

WBD not allowing any type of tribute while airing DV Dana's CTE Speedrun right after was complete bullshit.

Yeah it's been nearly forgotten that "James E. Cornette, sissy mama's boy" was a rib on Jim Barnett.

Hulk vs Miscavige seems like the final boss fight of carny, the only thing that would make it better is if the winner gets kabong'd by Double J.

Also Saraya pretty much turned herself heel in her very first promo where she basically (if not unintentionally) made AEW look second rate.

Its amazing that the storyline is Bryan has to win all these matches to get the title shot, but he's so great he ends up getting the crowd to root for his opponent to win.

WWE made it clear they want no parts of Alberto, so if anything this might hurt AAA's efforts. Not to mention that everything else aside he was a flop the last time he was there.

Folks all over the globe paying their respects tonight. (the LA Park/Lucha Bros vs Rush/Briscoes match on the poster here was a great lucha brawl)

Woods and Kofi were dressed in suits tonight because they were going to do a funeral segment about Pretty Deadly until the news broke about Jay Briscoe.

When Dragon Lee gets to NXT, he should have a "loser has to stop wearing speedos for ring gear" match with Tyler Bate.

The family really felt like a fun, if not gruff, close knit redneck family that would give you the shirts off their back.

Fuck, the news just gets worse now that there was a kid in the car.

Wow classy move my acknowledging Jay Briscoe's passing in the middle of NXT. Props to them.

I like coked-up Thea, but this Chase U shit is quickly jumping the shark.

My brain auto-corrected the title to "Jerry Briscoe" because, well honestly he would be the one you'd expect hear he passed away. Beyond tragic news, and even more so after the year they had in wrestling and they were finally getting their flowers from the greater wrestling fandom. From most accounts, the Pugh family seems like the extended close knit bunch they were portrayed on TV. I hope that's the case because IIRC Mark just had a kid not too long ago and the poor guy's going to be emotionally overwhelmed for a while.

I feel bad for Gigi and Jacey, Toxic Attraction has such a "Patriots without Tom Brady" feel now without Mandy.

Apollo/Axiom vs Melo/Trick was unsurprisingly good. I saw that Melo was one of the guys Cody handpicked to train with to get back into ring shape, so clearly game recognize game.

FTR with Dax Harwood and Matt Koon
Everything I've ever seen the man say makes me absolutely 100% convinced he would be down if asked.

FTR with Dax Harwood and Matt Koon
I can see why Dax and Punk get along so well. They both seem to be very passionate guys who seem like an absolute pain in the ass to be around on a regular basis. I appreciate Dax carrying the torch for tag team wrestling when it seemed like no one in charge of pro wrestling gave a shit about it, but he also comes off as the type who will jump headfirst into every discussion about it no matter if it involved him or not and that gets exhausting as fuck real fast.

LOL I was waiting for you to get upset about the soccer talk Also it's funny how it doesn't get mentioned that while Hunter stated Chyna can't be in the HOF because his kids might Google her and find out she did adult videos, one of the guys she did one with (X Pac) gets to appear on WWE TV all the time with no fear of his kids doing any web searches.
