I know it happened. I have the scars.

Let's talk about Joe Rogan and that Fear Factor thing
It aired. the image of former DVDVR alum Tom Lawlor doing piss shots will indelibly be marked in my brain forever. No matter how hard I try to forget.

Dave Meltzer stuff
I'm convinced the reason Hendricks stays and Meltzer goes is that someone finally got wise to Dave's "MMA and pro wrestling are the SAME THING!" lunacy.

[1995-01-02-WWF-Raw] Kama vignette
What I never understood about Kama was why they had him wearing the t-shirt all the time. He looked much more badass with all his ink showing.

[1996-03-25-WWF-Raw] Shawn Michaels vs Leif Cassidy
I think Bret being subtly heelish was by design since they were getting ready to crown Shawn the uber-face.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
For real. Growing up, seeing Beefcake cut some jobber's hair was always a fun highlight in squash-centric episodes of Challenge or Superstars or what have you. Plus as a kid, it made you want to see him do that to the dastardly Honky/Savage/whomever.

WWF announcing debate mega-thread
Any more than someone watching a football/baseball game goes "I could have caught that"? People will armchair QB any sort of sports or entertainment.

WWF announcing debate mega-thread
But who *watching* the program knew what the WWF's in-house working rules were? To the people watching at home it made perfect sense. That should count more than someone who views it through the eyes of "well Gorilla knew X was told not to hold the leg, what a douche".

WWF announcing debate mega-thread
I don't see how Gorilla buried people with the examples given. The "he's not going to make him submit with that move" - when was the last time you saw anyone submit to a rear chinlock? Since when is stating the obvious burying someone? Plus the heel commentator would often bring up the effectiveness as a wear-down hold etc. "He didn't hook the leg" - I'd argue that actually protects the heel as it implies the heel may have won had he not made a mental mistake with the pin. It doesn't undercut his value as a wrestler. I'd think people like Loss who want their announcing to be more "serious" would actually be in favour of stuff like that.

WON HoF Candidate Poll Thread
It's about *2000*, not the decade of the 2000's. The Kamala comparison is more about Rock being Hogan. Rock was EVERYWHERE in 2000, perhaps even moreso than Hogan was in '87. Mainstream TV, music videos, you name it. He had that "it" factor that transcended rasslin and everyone wanted to see him and play "sing along with the champ". HHH may as well have come out in a robe that said "opponent". People like to tout HHH's 2000 as this great year for him but it's the white elephant of his career. It just doesn't exist.

WON HoF Candidate Poll Thread
You absolutely can. No one bought a ticket during the Attitude era thinking "oh boy! finally a chance to see HHH LIVE!". He was arguably fifth on the pecking order behind Rock, Austin, Foley, and Taker. As I said before, he's the 2000 equivalent of Kamala. No one bought a ticket to see him, they just wanted to see Rock drop the People's Elbow on a warm body. It's worth noting that Mania 7 did a record advance in the week after Mania 6 because people were expecting Warrior-Hogan 2. Also worth noting that if SS '90 did better than WM6 (as we have conflicting data) that the absolutely TERRIBLE booking of Warrior as champ was a factor as well.

WON HoF Candidate Poll Thread
I've made the comparison before to Hogan's run with Kamala doing boffo box office back in the day. It wasn't that people were THAT into Kamala, it's that everyone REALLY wanted to see Hogan. Substitute Rock and Trips for Hogan and Kamala and I think the same thing applies.

Stuff no one does anymore?
They mentioned it a lot in the 80's. Heenan would rail on Elizabeth in commentary wondering how she got a manager's license. There was also the SNME where Andre got to be in Bundy's corner against Hogan because he was "licensed" for the evening.

Wasn't that a Jim Herd decision?

What are you watching?
Your not alone, dude. Whenever anyone does top ten RAW moment countdowns, that one is usually right at the top to the list, with good reason. Does anyone else find it weird that Austin, who'd been swearing up a storm all year, got all offended and mad at Gorilla for telling him to get his ass out of the building? I thought that was hilarious. Gorilla gets mad enough to swear and the foul-mouthed Austin yells "don't you talk to me like that!"

[1995-11-04-WWF-Superstars] Goldust and Bam Bam Bigelow
What was Bammer promised exactly? That if he jobbed to LT he'd get a huge babyface run, only to be undercut by the clique? Am I remembering that right?

[1995-10-29-WWF-Halloween Havoc] Hulk Hogan vs The Giant
Nothing was going to save the match itself, with the ridiculous pre-match angle already turning off most people. But the exclusion of the Yeti would have improved the post-match tenfold. Having Luger and Savage coming to the rescue then having the shock Luger turn with Luger and Giant cleaning house on the faces would have actually been pretty good.

[1995-06-26-WWF-Raw] Jerry Lawler and Isaac Yankem
Jacobs never had the charisma and aura that Sid had. You look at Jacobs and it's "wow, that's a big dude". You look at Sid and you think "that guy is a fucking KILLER".

[1995-06-25-WWF-King of the Ring] Mabel vs Savio Vega
Having Mabel go over Razor would have been so much better. But from what I remember, Razor was hurt. Was that legit or just trying to throw another surprise on the PPV?
