Reading some '92 Observers and seeing that Warrior-Kamala headlined a house show run. Is there any video of this? I have an odd desire to see this pairing.

It really takes some astonishing hubris to classify wrestlers as independent contractors while pulling crap like this. I don't think the no-compete would hold up in court. It would be like telling a TV actor that if they're fired from the show they're on, they're not allowed to pursue a career in hockey.

The off-air end to this show was even better, with Foley coming out to make the save but failing, then Taker coming out and finally turning the tide for the babyfaces. Then Austin, Foley and Taker had a beer bash together. Shame it never made air, although there's a shot of the three of them cheers-ing each other from this that they used in the Foley retirement video the next year.

Did Diesel outright say it on Raw the night after SS '95 or just allude to it? It certainly wasn't the first, but the funniest allusion I remember was Henry Godwinn of all people on Raw in '97. He started pointing at Vince after a loss and screaming "this is all your fault"! Vince completely no-sold it from the commentary booth, starting to laugh and saying "I guess everything's my fault".

Exactly. So taking a one-off kayfabe commentary gig would suddenly invalidate that and impugn his credibility? It's ludicrous. It really isn't ludicrous to say a reporter would harm his credibility by taking a paying promotional gig for a company he covers. Again, this is really basic ethical stuff in journalism. What if Dave took the job and then a wrestler died or was seriously injured on 1/4 because of some promotional negligence by NJPW? You'd have the most respected reporter in wrestling suddenly unfit to cover a major story on the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. Is that scenario unlikely? Sure, but those are the kinds of instances we guard against by not creating the appearance of conflict. Now, Dave didn't pursue the job, so this is all theoretical. And it's certainly not anything to get heated about. But as someone who has to deal with these kinds of issues in everyday life, I find the line here to be clear. It's more like a media member playing themselves in a quick movie cameo. It doesn't mean they can't ever mention the media conglomerate that produced the film without cynicism and suspicion.

That Bruno-Larry stuff is FANTASTIC. Although I can't stop laughing at Bruno's hair. Agreed with the general consensus on Bruno's appeal vs Hogan's appeal. Bruno appealed to the everyman, Hogan appealed to kids who watched saturday morning cartoons and wanted a real-life He-Man. Also, people think that Randy Savage wasn't a cartoon character? I need to experience your reality.

Yeah this was a very tepid response for a major Hogan comeback. These seemed to have diminishing returns with every hiatus he took. Agree that the segment really dragged despite only being 10 minutes or so. No one cares about Beefcake in '93 and people aren't exactly clamouring to see Jimmy Hart as a babyface.
