The worst ones in WWE that first came to mind to compare it to, for me, were Earl Hebner Vs. Nick Patrick and the RAW tag match with Jackie Gayda & Trish Stratus.

In an era where "@HEELZiggler" is one of the most over guys on the roster, even when he wasn't a babyface, I definitely think it's time for a change. A lot of the fans of today are so smart, or think they are, that they'll do things just to be contrarian anyway. "CM Punk" chants, "This is awesome" chants, etc. I think it all goes hand-in-hand with killing kayfabe. I'm not sure what would work but just trying to have a guy act like he's a bad guy & beat-up good guys isn't going to work anymore. It's antiquated. Regardless of if he burns Pokémon cards or whatever else. Wrestling is like a nerd hobby now. A lot of which is due to the internet. How evil can a heel be in this day & age when they have to have a Twitter account, do autograph signing sessions, sell T-shirts & use buzzwords?

I disagree that Brock doesn't get cheers.

The heels that work right now tend to be the ones that people think "suck" or are "boring." If you do anything that gets a pop, stop doing it. If you make the crowd cheer, or laugh they won't hate you. If you're dominant, they'll get behind you. You gotta go out there and be like The Miz nowadays, seemingly, to get any heat. Annoying IS hated. X-Pac heat is heat.

I want to nominate Jamie Noble. (1, 2, 3) Some of the "reviews" on PWO didn't really have any replies. So here's a few more from off-site: (4, 5) I really enjoyed his ROH run as James Gibson including his short title stint. He's worked against Rey Mysterio, Tajiri, CM Punk, Austin Aries, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, etc. & is someone that I want to revisit after seeing him on WWE TV again lately. Scott Keith gave Roderick Strong Vs. James Gibson 4-stars from ROH Unforgettable 10/2/05.

I stand by my comments about the women's elimination tag. It was too long, chalked full of botches, with a dead crowd & Naomi even looking like she got hurt in the end. There were eight women in that match & six of them were actively horrible. For long stretches of time. It is the worst match I can recall seeing on WWE PPV.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vince McMahon makes him the GM tomorrow on RAW & it leads to a Sting Vs. Triple H match at Wrestlemania. Of course, that's not what I want to see at all.

Main event was great. Ziggler looked great. A lot of soap opera story but that's leading to RAW tomorrow, so that's good too, IMO. Sting was alright. Triple H sold the shit outta that Death Drop.

It was long and boring, not some crime against humanity. I know being hyperbolic, "worst thing ever!" is your thing, but give me a break. Yes, it's my "thing." That was the worst match I have seen in years, maybe ever...and if I can vote for it being so in any sort of poll or anything, I would. Without hesitation. Everyone in the match was bad. Naomi looked like she got injured. There were botches left and right. It was too long. The crowd was completely dead. What was good in ANY of it? Paige yelling one-liners that you can only hear because of the silence from the crowd? It was hot garbage. Anyone that tries to defend it is just trying to be contrarian.

Embarrassingly bad & WWE should feel bad for putting it on the show, free or not. One of the worst matches ever on PPV. Not hyperbolic. Outside of that match in TNA with Sharmell & the non-wrestler, I can't think of anything else, certainly not recently, that was worse. Just 100% trash. I hope it shuts up anyone that says the Divas should be getting more time.

Four years is a long time. He was quite a bit smaller back then. Now he's walking around like The Warlord. He looks stuck.

If WWE were going to call someone up from NXT, today, whom would it be? Sami Zayn, maybe? I'm still waiting on The Ascension to show up as I heard they were coming like two months ago. WWE could definitely make a fun, last minute thrown together match with a lot of the familiar Superstars/Main Event faces: Adam Rose, Christian, Big E., Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods. Vs. Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Fandango, Heath Slater & Jack Swagger That could be fun. Continue the Rose/Bunny crap, give Christian a PPV match again, continue the "New Day" thing...

The main event does have a chance to be really good. There's a lot of talent in it & it's probably going to get a lot of time. Plus I imagine at least one surprise in that match and maybe up to three. A Cena/Rusev confrontation or Ryback/Rusev confrontation, I imagine will get a pretty big reaction. Probably Rowan & Harper too.

WWE Survivor Series is tonight & free on WWE Network. There's quite a few rumors circling today, which I'm not sure how much of it will come to fruition & how much is just flying around to build up some anticipation for the event. On paper, to me, this does not look like a great show. Well, the Sunday Night Fooball game is Cowboys@Giants, that should be enough reason to not watch that. Unless you want to watch the 3-7 Giants?

I was just thinking about trying to nominate Alberto Del Rio myself but wasn't sure if I would be able to make a strong enough claim to do so.

I feel like it would have been infinitely better if instead of Cody picking up the Stardust gimmick, Dustin dropped the Goldust gimmick & they were just The Rhodes Brothers. Especially after the story where Dusty was on air to get their jobs back.

I'm a fan. I've watched every week so far & will continue to do so. I never really watch AAA, so the majority of the wrestlers are new to me. I like the over-the-top cheesy presentation of the vignettes backstage as it at least feels different & fresh. As was mentioned earlier, we seem to get at least one good match a week. Plus, right now, it's fun to get to know the new (to me) wrestlers & see what they're all about. Both their characters & their moves. I'm not a fan of Chavo, Sexy Star (she's awful), Blue Demon, Jr. or Mil Muertes. At least Chavo is a decent wrestler out of that group, I just don't particularly care for him. The rest of them aren't any good. At least not from what I have seen so far on Lucha Underground. It's also weird to me that Johnny Mundo is literally playing his exact same character from WWE, without changing a thing other than the last name. Same entrance & everything. The commentary is bad but I like the atmosphere of the show a lot. "The Temple" is neat in that I like that the wrestlers have to go through the crowd & come down the stairs to make it to the ring. It feels underground, so the name of the promotion makes sense. It reminds me of like Mortal Kombat or Bloodsport. So far, I like Prince Puma, Drago, Fenix, Ivelissa, Son of Havoc & Catrina. I dislike Big Ryck, Cortez, Cisco & the names I listed up above. King Cuerno also made me literally laugh outloud & how ridiculously stupid his ring entrance attire looked. I still think that Konnan is a great talker & I don't mind him at all. The show never really feels like it's starting to drag because it's not super long. Everything seems to have a reason for happening so far. Dario is fun so far too.

I just thought it was an interesting take. If a 450lb guy can do all the same things as the 200lb guy, why do you care about the 200lb guy? Obviously it's never that black-and-white and a lot more goes into it than just that, like characters, opponents & what not. It was just something I didn't really expect to hear from a worker as I figured most people would like Big Van Vader. I guess everyone has haters though. Especially in this ego driven business full of people scared of losing their spots and being jealous of others.

I love Big Van Vader and he'll probably end up pretty high on my list. A lot of his Japan stuff is great. Some of his WCW stuff is pretty good too. Watching a shoot with Honky Tonk Man, he said that Vader was a big guy that refused to work big guy style & instead wanted to get over by doing a lot of stuff that people his size shouldn't be doing and that people didn't think they could do. If Big Van Vader, at 450 lbs, does a Moonsault in the main event, why do you care if "Flyin'" Brian Pillman does a Crossbody in the opener? I think BVV also worked with a lot of tremendously talented opponents that would capable of taking his offense & making it look like death. Dylan makes some interesting points in his devil's advocate post on the first page.

I have not seen this. Do you recall which show, so I can check it out?

I would have liked to have seen Jim Ross & Jesse Ventura call WWF matches like a sporting event. They were great together in WCW, in my opinion. I think that's my favorite team ever.

Although obviously he will not top anyone's list, Scott Hall is interesting. When he was motivated, he was pretty good. He also had a tendency to become lazy. When he was working with his friends in WWF, he did some good stuff. When he has guaranteed money, maybe not so much. Matches with 1-2-3 Kidd, at least one of them, was pretty good. Both ladder matches with Shawn Michaels were pretty good. I remember watching a Royal Rumble (I think) match with Jeff Jarrett that was pretty good. Any other matches that come to mind? Anything in WCW at all? Or pre-Razor days?
