1988 Wrestler of the Year Contenders
I might do a rematch soon, I had a fair few of them at ****+ and remember being totally blown away by some of them. This was maybe a decade ago though. They were surely far and away the best two workers in WWF circa 88. Only shame is that they were married so much, we didn't get a ton of other Ted or other Savage. There's also a couple of matches I've not seen. Not sure if I've ever watched the Boston or Philly legs. MSG cage, Wrestlefest and one of the SNME are what stand out to me off hand. I may do a show on it just to motivate a watch. Then again, I might not. We'll see.

1988 Wrestler of the Year Contenders
Ted and savage had like five or six really good matches. Don't know why that counts for nothing. But there we are.

1988 Wrestler of the Year Contenders
It's not Worker of the year material and neither is Greg in 86.

I can't take anyone who calls Demolition "insanely great" seriously. I'm sorry.

1988 Wrestler of the Year Contenders
I recall you enjoying the one we watched on PWSS. DiBiase and Savage had excellent chemistry. I don't know what this idea is that those matches aren't good. Wrong headed and just plain wrong. Both Ted and Savage are better wrestlers than fucking Demolition. And they had more good matches at **** or + together than ... Fucking demolition did in 1988. Better wrestlers plus better matches = better year.

I can also guarantee you that you two haven't actually watched all of the Savage vs. DiBiase matches I listed.

Trade deals
He can come and work for me under a hood if you want. He would work as "Texas Red" and have a gimmick similar to this: I'd want him to have the "cloth mask" coming to the ring though, like the classic cowboy bandit. Similar to this:

Georgia Championship Wrestling Cards & Results Thread
Some really cool stuff here. Jake promos a highlight. I was REALLY surprised to see Ted Turner making an on-air appearance. I like the "round the country" round ups by Miller too. Works to make TBS feel big time or "flag ship", and also real legit with the likes of Solie there. Liking too how you've thrown the occassional longer star vs. star match in among the jobber matches.

Dick Murdoch
Still not really seeing it with Murdoch to be honest. I am watching Mid-South run soon though, so that may change, but at this point he's not even making my 100.

Montreal Results
I like the really precise timings on the TV. This is another strong promotion. Everyone has been doing a really good job. I love the use of Albano here, and to a slightly lesser extent Creachman. Some good use of managers to get acts over.

Southwest Championship Wrestling Results
Fantastic effort here. Looks like a great blood and guts promotion with some inventive booking to work aroud ostensible lack of star power. I also like the very traditional all talking + pure squash jobber matches on the TV, and then big matches on the big shows. Good understanding of the old school.

Maple Leaf Wrestling Results
I enjoyed this. I do have a question and possible criticism though: who are your jobbers? I didn't get a clear sense of hierarchy from reading this and there seemed to be a lot of parity going on. Was v. surprised to see Martel / Garea lose to Leo Burke, for example. Seems to be some Modern WWE sytle booking to me. How can Martel be giving up clean losses to anyone?

Can anyone who has dates on Steamboat please list them here? I just want to make sure I don't agree to any clashes.

International Championship Wrestling
Catching up on other promotions. Went to this one first because ICW office has been close to WWF, and I wanted to see how he used the Andersons. Really enjoyable read, I dug the Savage angle, and I got a good sense of the commentators and the TV presentation. Real good stuff. I loved the younger sons deal too. Collection of misfits and losers and outlaws, feels just like ICW should. On Andersons, you had the deal where all four of them said a line or two each. I've had Ole more mouthpiece and Gene and Lars silent partners. But apart from that we've gone a similar direction with them. We should probably message over where to take them now though cos I'm starting to cycle through the same ideas.

Updated to reflect some new dates with MSW guys. August MSG / Philly / Boston / Meadowlands shows are looking ridiculously stacked. Hope I haven't loaded up these shows too much.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I don't give a fuck to be honest. I'm not renegotiating and I'm out of this thing if it goes down any other way. If people decide all deals are off so be it, so am I.
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
The default should be that the deals stand and if nothing else is said they stand. I'm not doing legwork reconfirming. Up to new booker to look at his dates and if he wants to cancel and piss off existing bookers, that's his deal.
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I don't even want to renegotiate those deals. Ted and Murdoch coming in for August was setup before we started. It's just too much commotion to keep track of if every time someone drops out, the deals have to be worked over. Default should be they stay and if new booker wants to be a dick, he cancels.
-
1983 Project General Chatter Thread
If those deals I made with Mid-South aren't binding I'm probably through with this whole thing myself. So my next month is fucked up because someone else drops? Why should that be the case?
