Just wanted to say that Michael Cole counting the suplexes basically killed Brock's cool for me.

My thought watching battlegrounds is that too many name guys on the roster are eating too many pins too regularly. Why not throw in some DQs and countouts? Smart fans think they want clean finishes all the time, but since when do promoters do what smart fans want? The art of the cheap finish is being lost.

I should mention that I expect this match to be not that good because a lot of people have said the same and even the Funks themselves don't seem to think it's that good because of the weird circumstances around it. Dory does have some good performances in 1981, his Florida heel run is pretty fun.

Can't agree with stuff on that Bryan vs Reigns being an old school brawl. It felt far more video gamey than that to me. Also totally agree with Dylan on the reigns "rebuild".

Easily the stuff with Mean Gene visiting Flair's home and rising in his car etc. in the run up to Starrcade 93 with Vader. That match really packs an emotional punch for me, and I don't think it would have gotten there without that build. One of the few truly great things WCW pulled off from start to finish. The other one is DiBiase vs Duggan from Mid South, but I want Will or Kris to tell it.

This Brock vs Rollins match seems like an Ultimate Warrior vs Honky Tonk Man dynamic in terms of kayfabe strength.

I gave the match from Elimination Chamber **1/2. I thought the Owens performance was better here and the match had better high spots. Shoulder injury also lent the match a wee bit more psycholgy. ***
